WILL HE WIN?

[You gained 20 EXP for your courage.]

[You gained 20 EXP for picking the right food choice.]

Terrence was bombarded with notifications that came from the system. He was dumbfounded by it.

He noticed that all of them came from what he had done earlier, from picking the right food selection in the grocery store to his confrontation with the old lady.

It seems like the exp he gained from courage was when he fought back, as he was not willing to be exploited.

'Hmm… does that mean I will gain exp from choosing the best deal? Or anything related to money? Maybe if i buy or spend money on something?" Terrence slowly nodded his head. He was 50-50 with his answer.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations! You gained 50 EXP for completing the special mission.]

Terrence looked at the words that flashed on the white screen before him. This confirmed what he said a few seconds ago.

Now, he understood the gist of the system. He just wasn't sure if this was the whole point of it or if there would be more. As of now, he needs to be wise when it comes to spending and handling money.

'Nicw!' Terrence silently celebrated his new knowledge. At least now, he knew what to do.

Terrence decided to continue to walk after he realized that he had already spent some time standing up alone. While walking, he calculated and realized that his exp had exceeded the needed exp to level up.

'It seems like I would need to manually level up my level once I get home,' he uttered. He noticed that there wasn't any notifications regarding his level up.

He remembered the [Mission] tab and got excited because of it. He couldn't wait to see just what kind of mission the system would give him.

'I'm sure it's not boring and all.'

That thought made him even more excited. He looked like a teenager who just bought a new game and was excited to try it out.

When Terrence arrived home, he just placed the rotisserie chicken on the table. He looked at the clock and saw that it was almost 5 in the afternoon.

His sister, Abigail, will be home soon.

Terrence went into their bedroom quickly after. There whole room was in adequate size. It has white painted walls and minimal furnitures. They each have their closet and a mini desk where they can work on their tasks

He went to his bed that's size was just enough for him to fit and move to the side by a little. It's smaller than a double bed but bigger than a single bed.

Terrence glanced at his sister's bed and noticed the big difference that the two had. His side of the room looked messy, while Abigail's looked organized.

Although he was bothered by it, he just shrugged off the thought in his head. He was sure that all the guys out there would relate to him. As long as he can locate where his things were located, then that would be enough for him.

After he sat down, he opened the system's interface to check his stats.

[Rewards will be sent to you shortly…]

"Woah! I gained $10? And there's lottery tickets too?" Terrence grinned. Even though it wasn't that huge for some, it was already big enough for him.

Getting $10 without doing any work satisfied him.

'This is like an hourly rate of working in some companies.'

After a few minutes, Terrence checked his stats once again to see if his rewards were already there.

"Who will I get this money then?" Terrence asked when he saw it.

[When you need the money, just think of the amount, and it will appear on your hand, Host. Make sure the value is valid, or your request won't push through.]

"That makes sense," Terrence nodded.

"Ohh? I gained 1 stat point for strength." Terrence muttered when he saw the change in his attributes.

It was just like the same as how the system explained it to him earlier.

"But how do I use the Lottery Tickets?"

[Just say Lottery Tickets activated, Host.]

Terrence nodded and did exactly what the system told him.

"Lottery Tickets activated."

Just like a magic word, the system's interface changed. It was replaced by a roulette, divided by a lot of pockets.

"1… 2… 3…"

Terrence counted up how many pockets were in there. After he was done, he was able to count up to 100. Each of them has different words written on it. Some were good rewards, while others were either fine, bad, or a dud.

However, what caught his attention was the pocket that was different in size among all of them. Its size was so small that he even had to squint his eyes just to see the words written on it.

"What the fuck…" Terrence's eyes widened. It was a $100,000,000 cash prize.

'Damn, if I will be able to get that then I won't even need to work or do anything my entire life.' He unbelievably exclaimed.

However, he knew that what he said would be impossible. The chance was too small to happen with just one try.

What's more, his luck was really not that good.

'Well, I hope I at least get something useful.' He wished as he had seen some prizes such as +100 luck, +100 strength, +$10,000 and all.

"Spin."

Terrence felt this thrilling excitement in his head as he looked at the spinning roulette. Its spin was getting faster and faster, the same with his beating heart.

When the spin was at its fastest, the rolling sound became even louder, adding to the thrill that Terrence felt.

As the spin got slower, Terrence became more anxious and excited at the same time. Maybe it was because it was his first time doing this, so he didn't know how to react.

When the spinning wheel became slower after a few seconds, he was able to take a deep breath. It was to the point that he knew that it wouldn't take that long for it to stop.

Terrence looked at the possible prize he would get. His eyes widened when he saw the $100 million nearby.

'If only…'

Terrence's breathing hitched when he saw that the arrow was already just 3 pockets before the big prize. He closed his eyes, scared to look at it.

When the sound of the wheel stopped, Terrence calmed himself down for a couple of seconds before opening his eyes, expecting something as a prize.

When he looked at the screen, Terrence fell into silence.

It was unbelievable to him.

Really, really unbelievable.

He just got…

He just got a dud.
