Spark of Blood

The colossal raure roared, and every living thing in the area twitched at how powerful it was. The rest of the group couldn't do anything at this point. It was up to her and Leo to finish things up as fast as possible. But the colossal raure seemed to have a different plan.

The colossal raure was certainly a whole new creature that inspired fear and awe. The raure was too large to go underneath the water considering that it was practically gliding on top of the water despite the large size.

Felicity didn't want to delve into the science of that one considering that the raures were teetering the line between fiction and reality.

More of the raure in the water nearby was getting absorbed into the main one as the colossal raure screeched loudly, calling its smaller counterparts. The gasp behind Medina said it all. Medina's voice was hard when she yelled her thoughts.

"Be careful! This is a whole new entity and mechanism never recorded before."

"On it!" Felicity barked.

Leo slammed the blade into the raure causing it to twitch and hiss, making her follow with the movement. Felicity had small daggers that she used to slash the creature on the side since they were dangling unable to move at the moment, but her little daggers didn't do too much.

Their stabbing attempt with their combined blazing sword showed how important their affinity weapons were. Where their blade had cut the raure together, it had disintegrated from the raure with the burst of shimmer.

It turned into a nightmare when the raure started to try and shake them off. Leo stabbed their sword into the raure deeply, so that they would have something to hang on to when the raure eventually leaned up to stand in the air.

She and Leo were hanging on by a thread in the air with the waves crashing beneath them. If they dropped, it was even higher than the cliffs. Even with their suits, Felicity knew that their bodies weren't indestructible.

They couldn't afford to fall after they climbed this high on the raure with the blue cord pulsing just on the underside of the raure that they weren't going to be able to reach unless they did some kind of upside rock climbing that too much of a risk at the moment.

If the raure suddenly flipped to the side then it would give them enough of an opening to make a move. The wind swept on them harder while the rainstorm had passed overhead leaving a damp haze along with the charged sky.

Felicity's short hair stuck on the sweat of her neck was starting to cool and bring her a chill. Grinding her teeth, she released the tension knowing that it was bad for her. They needed to get a move on, but they had to take it step-by-step. If one step was slightly off, it could cost them their lives.

The raure was still trying to shake them off, but she clung onto Leo like a madwoman while he was holding himself and her barely by a thread from their sword. The combination of their swords was a heady sensation, and Felicity had the feeling that they wouldn't be able to hold out for any longer.

Leo was on the same wavelength. "I'll hook you up on its back, Felicity."

She dipped her head sharply down. "I will do my best to pull you up."

Felicity released their combined blades, and she could immediately feel freedom with her hand. Her feet were dangling high above the water, wiggling freely, as Leo did his best to swing her back and forth to get enough momentum to swing her up. The pain on Leo's face was evident.

"Hurry up!" Felicity yelled worried. "Don't waste too much of your strength on me."

"I would rather have you going up than going down," he grunted.

Leo was strong, but even he could withstand the power gravitating off of their joint affinity weapons. They couldn't prolong this. She wasn't sure if Leo would be okay if she left him for too long. On one side, Leo was gripping onto their affinity weapons stabbed deep into the raure, and on the other, holding Felicity up.

She could practically see Leo's shoulder threatening to pop out with how much strength he was exerting for her. Everything that Leo had done so far up until this point was truly a testament to strength. Felicity could pride herself on being able to hold her own, but Leo was on another level.

"Felicity," Leo warned.

Felicity was taking the ride, letting the swing become lighter as she kicked her legs back and forth. She was doing it just enough to help pick up speed without putting more stress on Leo's arm. There was nothing left to lose anymore. They had to give their all.

"I'm ready," she called.

Leo swung her one more time, putting so much effort into making sure that Felicity wasn't caught by the wind Felicity felt her stomach bottom out when Leo let go of her hand. She could hear all of her friends below shout out in fear, and Felicity bit down on her lip as she grappled through the air.
