Capturing the Attackers

Chapter 04.

The gun was loaded with enough magic energy. Radha shot near the ankle of the commanding assailant. The assailant's leg was shot as he couldn't dodge at such a close distance. He screamed in pain and fell.

Radha hastened and pulled a safe distance between them. The sand began to converge and cover the assailants face.

The assailant tried to sweep away the sand from his face.

Radha turned his head to the side. A small team of three rushed towards their direction. He shot the pebbles and small rocks on the commanding assailant's leg and rushed to hide in the sand cover.

The assailants approached their leader who was gasping for air through the small gaps he made by grabbing at the sand and pulling it away. He shouted a command at them as soon as they cleared the sand. They picked him up and took him outside the sand cover. One of them raised his hand and shot a flare into the sky.

The assailants surrounding the car stepped back. They rushed outside the sand cover. They spread and stood in a formation around the sand cover, chanting a spell.

Radha reached the car. The invisible shield parted a way to him as he touched the shield. He opened the door and sat in the front seat, urging the driver,"start the car. Quick"

He turned around and asked them,"Auntie, how are you? Is anyone hurt?"

"No one's hurt. We reacted in time to avoid the danger. There were too many attackers who surrounded us. Did they hurt you?" His aunt asked while checking him to see any injuries on him.

"I wasn't injured." He replied. He looked at Raj and asked him,"Are you okay, kid? Are you scared?"

"No, I'm fine. I'm not scared. Who are they? Why are they attacking us?" Raj questioned.

"Let's talk later. Uncle disturb their chanting. You don't need to care about the attacks from those far away." Radha said to his uncle.

Radha said to the driver,"Just drive forward and don't stop."

The sand started to converge and form a dense cover around the car.

The assailants continued their chanting, flames rushed from below and hit the moving car.

The assailants were suddenly hit by a gust. Some of them were forced to stop their chanting. The flames weakened.

The people inside the car felt the rising heat in the car, the flames followed them on the road.

"Fuck! I didn't expect this spell. Are they really going for the kill?" Radha cursed in annoyance. The sand covering the car flowed back and accumulated at the back of the car. It blocked the back of the car to prevent direct contact with the flames in case.

Radha raised his hand and communicated through the watch,"Change to U4. Quick."

Radha's uncle waved his hands in the air. The wind flowing backwards around the car, bent and hit the flames. It slowed down the speed of flames while increasing the heat. The road was scorched at the confrontation of the two spells.

After moving some distance the flames weakened and stopped following their car.

Radha lowered the window and looked back. He could see the truck moving and laser shot from the truck.

Radha perceived to see if there was any danger nearby. The car stopped after he made sure there was no danger and he got out of the car. He then ran towards the truck.

He got into the back of the truck when it stopped. The truck drove in reverse gear. Two small cannons on top of the truck were facing the assailants. Radha placed the energy cores in the compartments directly below the robots.

A powerful beam was shot towards an assailant making a hole in his head. Shots were fired continuously, one per three seconds. The assailants were fleeing in fright. They are escaping in different directions. Still every shot killed an assailant.

Everything stopped. Radha felt no danger and got off the truck. Everyone near the road was killed. Every dead body has a hole in its head. He walked towards a dead body near him and removed the mask.

The forehead was covered with yellow and red marks. The hair is a faint red colour with white hair here and there. He opened the eyelids to check. No blood. He checked other dead bodies.

A red beak bird. A spirit beast that has an advantage if they attack in a flock. It takes a lot of effort to catch a single bird. There are nearly twenty shapeshifters in front of him who morph with this body.

"Ali, make the call. Tell them to hurry. There are bodies that are still useful." Radha communicated with Ali. He walked towards the assailants who were caught.

There are more than thirty assailants who fainted. There are still people among them who are only paralyzed. He walked towards a paralyzed person and removed the mask on his face.

Deep blue eyes. There are signs of eyebrows and sides of the hair turning into small feathers. Radha thought there would be more details on his body if he checked. He doesn't know what's the spirit beast used by these attackers.

He kicked the paralyzed assailant and cursed at him,"What's with these changes, what's the spirit beast, who sent you to attack us?"

He bent over and touched the sides of the assailants' hair. He continued," You attacked with a goal to kill us. It doesn't seem like you want to capture us. What's this? We should not kill. Why did you start killing?" He slapped the assailant and then glared at all the assailants who were still conscious,"Wait till the night falls. You guys will be having a special treatment."

While waiting for the backup, he searched for the leader of the assailants. The assailants face was in bluish colour and his facial features are unrecognizable.

Few vehicles passed through this road and there wasn't a big problem to clear any evidence of the fight. The backup arrived within five minutes in another truck. They loaded the assailants, dead and alive into the truck.
