Chapter 37: Jiraiya's mission report.

Both Shizune and Jiraiya looked aghast at Oden, while Tsunade simply looked on with a smirk. Then she turned around and walked out, followed by a worried Shizune.

"You think that's a good idea, to have two kages fight each other?" Jiraiya asked as the others had left.

"It doesn't matter because I'm just an acting Kage, not a real one." Oden said.

"Say that to the villagers... from what I've heard by just walking the streets... they seem to think of you as a real one." Jiraiya said with a twitch.

"You're overreacting, so tell me how the mission went." Oden said, changing the subject.

"We found her and I asked her nicely to return to Konoha to be the fifth, but she got angry and we fought. In the end, she escaped." Jiraiya said he thought back.

"hm... go on." Oden said, curious as to how things went after that.

"After searching for a few days O found her again, and This time she fought me without allowing me to even speak and she escaped once again after a long fight." Jiraiya said with exhaustion.

"You allowed her to escape twice?" Oden asked suspiciously.

"I tried to end things peacefully, sadly Tsunade has never been someone that inclines to peaceful conversations." Jiraiya said.

"I noticed."

"Then when we found her for the third time, she got angry and went all out, so I also went all out, in the end, because her weakness got revealed she stopped fighting, and at that point, I told her that if she denied once more she would become a missing-nin and I'd have to... kill her. She became angry enough to start fighting again, this time I fully explained the mission I had received." Jiraiya said.

"So why did she decide to come back?" Oden asked.

"Naruto got mad and jumped in and fought her." Jiraiya said sheepishly.

"So that's why you tried to hide the content of the mission, you couldn't admit that you failed but a newly made genin succeeded shame on you. I'm dividing your pay by half for this mission." Oden said as he had caught on.

"WHAT, BRAT, THE ONLY REASON HE SUCCEEDED WAS BECAUSE I WAS TEACHING HIM EVERYTHING I KNEW!" Jiraiya shouted trying to defend his pride.

"Sure, fine you'll get paid normally." Oden said with a small hint of teasing in his voice.

After getting the details of everything, he had Anbu release information to the public, three days later the new Hokage would be crowned.

Then he stood up and left for the Forrest of death with Jiraiya.

When he arrived he found Tsunade doing stretches, looking very excited for some reason. Beside her was Shizune, nagging her about how this was a bad idea.

"You finally arrived, thought you had lost your guts." Tsunade said as she noticed the arrival of Oden and Jiraiya.

"Lost my guts? My guts is immeasurable!" Oden said as he suddenly turned very cold, stoic, and cool looking.

But on the inside, he was very dismayed as he felt the chakra signatures of Mina And Migoto hiding far away.

'How did they know I'm here?' Oden thought in panic.

Seeing how he suddenly became ten times more arrogant, Tsunade almost dropped her jaw.

Jiraiya was somewhat used to Oden's behavior but still looked at him oddly. He is usually, normal grade arrogant, but at this moment his head is almost angled at 45 degrees.

"Let's fight... then." Tsunade said, unsure how to handle Oden's change in behavior.

"Fight? Fight is when two are in combat with each other, this isn't a fight.. this is destruction, I'll show you what regret means to the point that you'll regret ever existing." Oden said, but internally he was panicking, he didn't expect Migoto and Mina, and now he acted spontaneously so he had overacted, since he couldn't prepare, his arrogance seemed slightly off.

Tsunade turned towards Jiraiya, hoping he would explain what was going on, and why he became so high and mighty all of a sudden.

Jiraiya looked just as lost

"Let's go." Oden said as he tried to escape, he could feel the rays of admiration coming from Migoto and Mina.

Then Oden and Tsuande ran towards the center of the Forrest of Death, followed by Jiraiya and Shizune in the distance.

"Should we follow?" Mina asked with a dead tone, but her eyes were bright as if she was looking at something great.

"No, I think we have had our dose of awesomeness for the day, let's hurry back." Migoto said in regret as his eyes followed his young master.

'He was so cool...' Migoto thought as he turned back to the Zaraki district.

'He was so kawaii, especially those cold eyes!' Mina thought as she also returned.

Oden felt his butler and maid leave, so he breathed out a sigh of relief.

'For some reason, I don't want to betray their expectations... maybe it's their eyes of admiration.' He reflected.

"This should be good enough!" Tsunade said as they had run quite deep into the Forrest.

"This is a good place, ladies first!" Oden said while looking around the surroundings. He told her to go first even while observing the surroundings making it look like he was looking down on her, which she noticed.

Tsunade had heard that the best in front of her had enough power to rival Kages, although she wasn't sure how strong yet, he should be able to handle her power. So she flashed towards him with an uppercut flying to Oden's shin.

Oden was surprised at her speed as he hadn't expected her to be so fast, she might even be faster than Orochimaru.

Oden tried to retreat slightly but it was too late, and in the last second, he succeeded in protecting his shin with his left elbow... But the power of the punch shot him straight away, destroying many trees. Tsunade grinned slightly as she saw that he had flown 50 meters.

Oden stood up from the rubble, and the sclera of his eyes became black.

He felt his elbow pulsate as he felt great pain.

Luckily he had succeeded in casting his Kimakuso technique. a light blue layer of blue chakra covered his body. It was almost invisible to the naked eye, yet the color was denser where Oden had been punched.

This technique puts a small, thin layer of chakra membrane around his body, and when he's about to get punched, he condenses the chakra in the area to get a protective layer.

Sadly this technique is not automatic, and he has to manually condense the chakra.

Oden started making hand signs and then spit out a huge fire towards Tsunade.
