Jack spoke slowly. "It's not something to be ashamed of, Lily. It's actually quite common in the Eastern Region.

"Everyone in the Eastern Region has a silent understanding about this. Basically, I was one of the unlucky ones. I offended someone, and they reported me. So, my superior had no choice but to punish me. Maybe I'd still have a chance of returning if those enemies are eventually defeated."

Jack slowly started revealing facts about himself to Lily one at a time. If his identity was ever made public someday, it would still be easier for him to explain.

On top of that, his superiors had not yet approved his request to resign. He still had to follow orders and go back to the Eastern Region for war if they ever needed him.

"You still have to go back to the Eastern Region?"

"Yeah. I'll go back if there is a chance or if they need me."

Lily suddenly felt a little down. 'If Jack returns to the Eastern Region, what am I going to do?'
