Chapter 19: Wasted Opportunity
After a day I talk with Jean, and all the words, sentences, and paragraphs left me feeling guilty. I want to talk with Kei but she's busy these days. The only person who I can rely on when I'm in my hard times is Kiel. Maybe you wonder why Kiel, yeah it's kinda we always fight and shout at each other but when the problem comes we're always relying upon each other. I call Kiel who is currently in the bar. It's like his whole life is stuck in the bar but now, it's a good time to go to the bar.
I went to the bar and search for Kiel wherever where he is. Not too protracted I saw Kiel at the same corner where we use to drink every time we go to the bar. I shout his name and walk toward where he is sitting. Before we start a conversation with each other, I order first my drink.
" So uh, Jean spoke to me two days ago, I think you're already aware of my relationship with your "fiance" I know that you're already our feelings for each other right?." I'm the one who starts a conversation. " Of course, you are my friends, and you should be hurt to call your girlfriend your friend fiance?." Well, he has a point but I'm just speaking the truth. Another day, another stupid thing I'm saying.
I know Kiel, he kinda looks dumb but when it comes to a serious conversation he speaks the reality that can punch you.
"Of course, it hurts but I can't do anything, that's already decided."
"You, you know Gel, sometimes I don't understand you. Sometimes you are so brave but sometimes you are so cowardly, especially when it comes to family or friendship."
Before I could talk he start talking again.
"Why do you even seal your mind that, that's only the destiny we're going to belong to? If you love Kei why not fight your love and prove to her parents that you are right for their daughter? I know myself and Kei also. We also know who we truly love. We also don't want to get married without love. You know it." Kiel said it.
"You can say that easily bro cause you can just say to your parents that you want to marry another woman. You know our parents and we both don't want to disappoint our parents - ." Before I even finish what I'm saying he suddenly talks again.
"That's your and Kei's problem. The two of you are too uncourageous. You can't stand on your own feet and walk. You'll still need permission or a decision from your parents. How are you gonna prove it then?" The Kiel question left me speechless, I couldn't talk to answer.
"Whatever bro, speak of Jeanette, did you know that I like her?"
"Wait what the actual fuck? Do you also like Jean? When?" I ask him cause I know that Jean liked him back then, in high school.
"Since middle school bro, I like her until now." I was left speechless how are they so stupid? Especially Kiel, did he confess or not? If he confesses then maybe they'll be together.
"Did you even know that Jean liked you in high school?" I went and spoke to Kiel so he can know what opportunity she didn't get.
"Wait wait wait, my beloved Jean also like me back then? Why you only said to me right now? Oh C'mon if I know then aghh why Gel?" Kiel then suddenly throws a tantrum like a child. I chuckle and giggle at what he's doing.
"Why it is my fault? You are a coward and didn't confess to her. If I ever knew that you like her then I should help you 'cause I know you can fight your love with your parents. If that's what happened I don't have a problem with my relationship with Kei." That thought made me realize, we'll just didn't take advantage because we both didn't know each other feelings.
"Yeah you're right, if that's happened then probably we're both happy with our relationship," Kiel said with a disappointed voice. When I heard that, I think that I should tease him.
"Well, you didn't know, Jeanette loves me more than you," I said to Kiel while having a smug face to tease him. "Well, you may be sad right now cause you know that your "girlfriend" is supposed to get married to me." This bitch give the same idea and vibes, he gave me a grin smile with a smug face. I burst out laughing when he also teases me.
Once again, my friends always make me realize that I'm not alone and I can always rely on them. I think that's what real friendship is.
