Invade?

He asked me to watch it for a minute because he will wake his mum up. After two or three minutes he came back and started to plate up the food.

Mrs Dawson came down in her robe. "You're early. I was going to do us breakfast but Liam ended up doing it." she laughed.

"It's my fault, Mrs Dawson. I didn't check the time. I'm sorry."

"Call me Evelyn, you're making me feel old calling me Mrs Dawson all the time." she smiled at me.

Liam served the food to us. It's a poached egg with toasted bread and asparagus wrapped in ham. It looked so fancy and delicious.

We ate and chatted about my party. So I took the opportunity of asking how did they know it's my birthday. She said Liam told her Saturday morning and she barely had enough time to buy a present.

I looked at Liam thinking that I never told him when my birthday was. It was never been a part of our conversation. I don't even know when his birthday is. Who told him? How did he find out?

He stared at me as if he was asking me "What?"

But I just shrugged it off and finished my food. Mrs Dawson went up to get herself ready for the day.

Liam cleaned the table and did the dishes. After, he told me to go with him somewhere. I simply agreed and we went out after he let his mum know that we will be out for a while.

We went to the park nearby and I sat on the swing. He followed but didn't sit on the other swing, instead, he stood behind me. He lowered his head and he whispered in my ear, "Where is the present I gave you?"

I don't know how to describe the feeling he made me feel when he whispered those words. I felt his breath on my neck and I was numb. No words came out of my mouth.

Because I didn't respond to him, he came in front of me and squatted there. "Summer? Are you okay?"

"W-what is it again?" I asked nervously.

He smiled at me. His smile is enough to end me and revive me at the same time. "Do you have the present I gave you?"

I smiled back at him. "Of course I do!" I opened my bag and I gave him the box.

Liam gently took it from my hand and opened it. He then walked back behind me and put the necklace on my neck. I can't help it, I touched the beautiful pendant. "Do you like it?" he asked.

I nodded before I answered him, "Yes! Very much."

"Do you know what it means?" he said while he walked to face me again.

I swallowed my saliva. 'Is he going to tell me that he likes me?' Of course, my thoughts always assume things. "So there is a meaning?" I asked and felt stupid after asking.

He smiled at me. "Find out what it means and get back to me."

"Get back to you? You mean... to tell you?" 'AHHHH!!! What's wrong with me? Of course, that's what he meant! What else! You dumb ass girl!' I just grinned at him trying to hide my stupidity.

He suddenly caressed my face and I know he was staring at my lips. It reminded me of what he did last night and I felt shy. I don't know what to do but for some reason, I stepped back.

"About last night…"

'OH MY GOD! He is going to talk about it now.' my mind panicked.

"It was my first kiss, I'm sorry if… I didn't do it well." He frowned and continued with, "I mean, I can probably do better next time."

Yeah, he actually said something I didn't expect from him. But what he said made me smile and he smiled back at me and that smile turned into laughter.

After a good laugh, I told him, "It was my first kiss too, I can't tell if it's bad or good."

He held my hand, "Really?"

His face looked so happy and excited. It's the first time he showed me this side of him. He looked really cute right now in my eyes.

I nodded, "So if you think it's bad, then I must be terrible."

We continued to laugh. He then told me that he will walk me home because he has to leave later.

We started walking and he held my hands. Yes, he held my hands. We are actually holding hands right now. This feeling is so overwhelming.

We reached the field where he usually plays football. No one is there.

"Summer. Can you do me a favour?"

I looked at him, "What is it?"

He stopped walking, "Can you not let anyone invade your lips, like what I did?"

My mind went blank. 'Invade?'
