17 Jealous

"You mean…" my heart palpitated.

He started to walk but I didn't move so I pulled him back. "I'm not even your girlfriend."

His face frowned, "I know, I'm sorry." he let go of my hand and he walked away.

I was left in the field on my own. I didn't even try to call his name or stop him. 'Did I say the wrong thing? Should I have said yes?" I sighed and continued to walk home on my own. 'And I still didn't know his number, and he will tell me that I shouldn't let anyone kiss me?' I chuckled with that thought. "Wait, he kissed me! Why?" I murmured.

That night, I couldn't sleep. I didn't check my phone at all, I just couldn't care. My brain is full of questions and I want them answered. I want his answers, straight from his mouth.

After a lot of tossing and turning, I eventually fell asleep. Even in my dreams, he was there. What is this? His arms are wrapped around me. Telling me he loves me and that he missed me so much. In my dream, he kissed me and he told me that he doesn't want anyone to kiss me except him. He was in the middle of asking me to be his girlfriend when the sound of my alarm woke me up.

I woke up and I'm annoyed! "Damn this alarm clock! I haven't answered him and you woke me up! I couldn't become his girlfriend even in my dreams! I hate you!" and I threw my alarm clock.

Five minutes later, I forced myself to wake up and prepared myself to go to school. I'm not really in the mood to banter with Joey. Just to let you know, Joey and I became friends. To the point where we can tease each other and behave like siblings.

"What's with that ugly face Summer?" he started.

"Shut up! I'm not in the mood! Just leave me alone!" I snapped at him.

"Oooh… fight with your boyfriend? Was he jealous of me?" he continued to piss me off.

I walked away and totally ignored him the whole day. My phone vibrated, it was James.

"How are you? How was your birthday?"

"Not n d mood! L8rs"

He didn't reply after my message. Joey told me that he will walk with me later because he has to go see his aunt who lives not far from our house. I nodded in agreement.

We talked as we walk and he was making funny jokes that really cracked me up. He really cheered me up and put me in a good mood.

I waved him goodbye before I entered our gate. He also said bye to me. As I entered the gate, I saw Liam staring at me. His eyes seemed mad and angry. He didn't move from where he was standing, while I walk like my normal self.

When I reached the door, I didn't acknowledge him at all. I went to open our door and I'm prepared to act as if he was not there.

Before I can open the door, he stopped my hand. "Why are you walking home with him?" His voice sounded jealous or I'm just assuming it?

"What? Are you jealous?" I chuckled and continued to open the door. He let go of my hand.

As I entered the house, he followed quickly. "What are you doing here? My parents are not in. Besides, aren't you supposed to be in your school right now? Why are you here?"

"You don't want me to be here? You want him here instead?" He is fuming mad at me I think, it's hard to tell.

I glared at him in shock. 'What on earth is wrong with him?' "Do you need water to cool you down?" I offered as I don't know what to say or how to react.

So I went to get him water and told him to sit down and have a drink. After he gulped down the water, I sat down on the other couch and asked him calmly, "What is wrong? Something happened?"

He stood up, put his hands on his waist and started to walk back and forths. "I—I don't know what's wrong with me either. I don't know why I'm here. But I want to know why are you with him?"

"I— don't have to tell you anything," I said in confusion.

"Do you like him?"

"What?" then I laughed. I laughed crazily. "Joey?" I continued to laugh. "You must be out of your mind Liam! He is like a brother to me. Wait— are you jealous of Joey?"

He didn't say a word. So I continued on, "There is no reason to ask me why I'm with him or if I like him if you are not jealous."

Still not saying a word, I stood up and walked slowly to him. "Do you like me, Liam?"
