Dark Energy

Lycanos was just about able to get up in about half a minute, then he left shortly after.

He made sure to tell Enzo and Xavier what had happened to him. Xavier said it might've just been any ordinary werewolf, but the boys were also sceptical about her looking much older than them.

They were 17 or turning 17, which wasn't far off from being 18, but she looked to be in her early twenties.

What they needed to do was just try their very best to keep tabs on her. If things were to happen, it would be best to report to Xavier instead of trying to handle things themselves.

Lycanos wasn't sure if Enzo could handle her, but that uncertainty was too risky to bank on. If he couldn't properly face her, he could end up getting gravely injured in trying to do so.

Judging from her claim to do much worse to Lycanos, she didn't seem like the type to show much mercy either.

Things simmered down for the following week, and Lycanos remained on edge when walking around Leah. She possessed lethal power and if he was to get on her bad side, his life could be at risk.

His training with Xavier continued, and they were slowly getting introduced to more attacks and techniques. Their fighting style was only punches and kicks for now, but they would soon learn to use slashes, grappling and other attacks in battle.

[The moon is waning!]

[The full moon is in 7 days]

[Physical stats will slightly increase for the remaining week]

Xavier made it clear to the two that the full moon wouldn't be a problem for them. He had a special concoction that would incapacitate them so they would cause no damage.

However, Lycanos wondered how he could handle the full moon without having to do what they did.

He didn't ask any questions related to that initially, since he just attributed that to experience.

With the full moon empowering him, his daily quests were a complete breeze now. He was getting quite surprised that his system hadn't ramped up the difficulty on the quests.

They were only 2XP, and he'd do above and beyond to still make sure that his body was growing. He wanted to close the gap between him and Enzo, and he hoped his system would help him do so.

The 7 days up until the full moon came, and the two students woke up with a pure sense of power flowing through their veins.

These traits would only heighten greatly by the time of the full moon, and they headed to Jolsby grove as fast as they could after their time in school.

They could already feel their bodies going through slight changes, and Xavier was ready with two syringes of a yellow liquid.

"Thanks for getting here on time. I'll see you two in the early morning." Xavier said, as he gave them the injections.

Since they hadn't begun their transformations, they passed out right away. In a few hours time, the two warriors woke up from the beginning of their transformations, and their minds had lost control.

Enzo didn't seem to be transforming as Lycanos was. Lycanos' whole arms became coated in jet-black fur, and a lot of his face grew this same black fur.

His feet began to elongate, and his fangs became much larger than they usually were. Xavier was surprised by the amount of power that he still seemed to possess.

Newby werewolves that received this concoction would usually be unable to move after their transformation was complete. However, Lycanos had the power to staggeringly approach him.

BAM!

Xavier just socked him in his head and dropped him to the ground right away, before just watching over the two kids to make sure no one would be hurt by them.

Lycanos' supposed energy swiftly dissipated and their minds slowly started to return to them as the sun rose. The moonlight shone on them wasn't as intense as before as it was being washed out by the warming, orange sunlight.

Lycanos was just leaned up against a tree trunk, and his fur slowly started to vanish. He returned to his basic transformation, with claws fangs and glowing red eyes.

Soon enough, the kids returned to their ordinary states and headed back home. They had given the excuse of having a sleepover at each other's homes, which somehow worked like a charm.

They just hoped their guardians wouldn't question them further, because they'd be caught if that was the case.

2 more weeks came and went just like that, and Lycanos had now put on nearly 50 pounds of muscle. His muscle growth was starting to plateau as he didn't want to get really massive per se. He was now 5'9, 165 pounds which gave him quite a nice physique.

Once he finished his daily quest, he opened a bag of human blood that was given to him by Xavier. As he did this, he was met by a new system panel.

[+2 HP]

[+5 Energy]

He had just finished a few hours in his job, and it was now totally dark outside. Now he was a werewolf, he felt no fear in situations like this. Judging from his need for human blood, he likely had immortality alongside this too.

Below his HP was a new tab, labelled DP. He gave his new talent a quick examination and was taken aback by the details behind it. If he could double his speed stat, that would give him a stat of 8 for 10 whole seconds. He could also use it twice before he'd be drained of energy.

Draining his energy wouldn't kill him but would just leave him heavily fatigued. He would lose the will and ability to fight, so his only chance to drain it would be as a final attack in a battle.

He wondered what this dark energy was in the first place. It reminded him of cool dark wizards in fantasy novels, but it didn't seem like he could do any spells or anything.

Activating the skill, his eyes started to glow a darker red. Translucent stream of dark energy started to flow above and around his body, and his muscles enlarged a decent amount.

It made him look several kilograms heavier than usual, and he could feel his body was about to pop. It felt like it was being flooded with vast amounts of power.

Rushing at the first tree he could see, he felt thrilled by the power soaring through his veins. It made him feel like using his power to destroy what he could see in sight but it wasn't a primal instinct.

It was a feeling of exhilaration, not a lack of control.

BAM! BAM!

With his immense speed, his fist whipped ahead and caused waves of air to whoosh around him.

He continued to throw the attacks for the duration of the 10 seconds, breaking deep into the tree. His attacks continued to break apart the trunk, until chunks of wood started flying out from the area he was hitting.

He made sure to hit the tree in various places, but it still came tumbling down only after these punches.

He had punched it in two, and was surrounded by several chunks of wood and bark that had fallen off in his assault.

"WHOOO!" He shouted into the sky, feeling the power flow through his veins.

It faded shortly after, and he looked down to his hands with awe for the power that he seemed to possess. With lunar strike, he only had his strength amplified and it was for a single attack.

Now, he could feel the amplification for seconds on end and it was great.
