“Sorry, what?” I asked – trying to get him to repeat what he just said. I don’t believe he seriously said what he meant.
“I-I said…” he paused as he looked down. “L-Lux is on the brink of death,” he repeated what he said earlier. My world felt like it was completely crashing down on me.
“Wh-what? That can’t be right? No,” I was denying what he just said – what could he know anyway. He wasn’t there with me for five whole years – choosing other women over his own family.
“Leave me alone,” I muttered as I was still looking down – the room felt tense, the air was so thick it could possibly be cut with a knife.
