Chapter 96

I sit here with my hands all over my head – in front of Jaughnn as he looked at me with major doubt as if I was being completely crazy.

“A-are you sure you don’t need the doctor?” He asked – I immediately shook my head.

I basically told him everything, seeking answers to everything as I wanted to go back to my original life with Asher and Lux – a peaceful and successful life.

“It’s only been 3 months since Lux got hospitalized – I pulled some strings and that guy got a life sentence. I’d never torture somebody just to kill them – I’d rather he rot very slowly,” he said with an almost devious expression on his face.

I ponder to myself, “It’s not been 5 years?”

He shook his head and looked at me as if I was crazy whilst showing me the calendar – “It’s currently August 14th of 2027.”

My eyes widened – I was so sure the date was August 14th, 2032, the date was specifically saved in my calendar as it was the date of the negotiation meeting.
