U.A. High! A Talk With Deku!

Today marked the start of my training to become a Pro Hero! I waved Mom, Dad and Ashi goodbye as I left for U.A. I was super duper excited about all of this, I got a paper last night with all of the information that I needed, I was going to be in Class 1-A. It took me only about 10 minutes to get to school, I landed down in front of the building and hurried inside. It didn't take me long to find the classroom, being that the door was labeled "1-A" on the front. I slid the door open and an Explosive Phoenix came roaring past my head.

"YOU TAKE THAT BACK YOU GODDAMN BASTARD!" Naoki shouted.

I simply sighed, give me a damn break, is he really starting this now? Takumo was completely encased in ice to protect himself against Naoki's verbal assault as Arai stood in front of him with flames spouting from the right side of her face.

"Could you knock it off for one day, please?" Arai asked.

I sat down next to Hotaru, "Good morning, Hotaru! It's good to see that you're calm as usual."

"H-Hi... Mabel..." She spoke quietly.

A couple more of us filed into the classroom, the door slid open one last time, a man dressed in all black with a scarf walked into the classroom, along with a woman whose hair was styled like twin tornadoes. He looked done with the day even though it just started! We all were quiet as he stood in front of the podium.

"Good morning, welcome to U.A. High. Judging by the looks on your faces, I'm not who you were expecting, were you? Well, that's just too bad. I'm Mr. Aizawa, I'll be your teacher this year." He told us.

The woman perked up and smiled, "Hiya everyone! I'm your assistant teacher, Ms. Setsuko! I hope you all have fun in this hero course!"

"With that out of the way, let me take attendance, keep your hands up once I call your name. Ishimoto Midoriya, Naoki Bakugo, Saizaki Kirishima, Hotaru Tokoyami, Mabel Leonidus, Takumo Todoroki, Arai Todoroki, Hiroto Oijiro, Takayoshi Tetsutetsu, Inazuma Kaminari, Yomaura Shoji, Kokoro Shinso, Zakaza Sero, Uchima Iida, Mitsuri Togata, Kotake Toga, Chou Kocho, Yamashiro Oyama, Shirogane Amajiki and... Waku Aizawa." He announced.

Waku waved at him, "Hi Dad!"

Mr. Aizawa sighed and nodded back at him. He set the list down before returning his attention to all of us.

"Alright, today won't be a simple, plain old day. You'll be conducting something called a Quirk Apprehension Test. If none of you succeed during these tests, I won't hesitate or even give a second thought about expelling any of you. Now, head down to the locker rooms, Ms. Setsuko will guide you all there if you haven't been there already." Mr. Aizawa continued.

A test on the first day? Is this what Mom and Dad had to go through as well? All of us walked down to our respective locker rooms, Ms. Kaoru walked with me the entire time.

"I have to say, I can tell you look a lot like your Father, it's adorable!" She told me.

"I know this might be an idiotic question, but you know my Dad?" I asked.

She laughed a couple times, "Do I know him? Sweetheart, I 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 who he is!"

"I honestly don't like what you're insinuating, Ms. Setsuko." I admitted.

"Your Father and I had quite the history together, I'm sure if you bring me up he'll tell you." She responded.

I nodded at her, "Oh, did you two know each other while he was training to become a Pro?"

"You'd be right!" Ms. Setsuko smiled.

The girls and I entered the locker room to change for this Quirk Apprehension Test. I wonder what all we'd be doing for this test?

"Hey, Mabel, you've got a hair tie I could use?" Zakaza questioned.

"Uh huh, give me a sec, I can make you one." I replied.

After I put my gym uniform on, I created a hair tie for Zakaza, I handed it to her. She thanked me as she tied her hair.

[10 Minutes Later...]

"Okay, now that everyone is here, we can get this test underway. First things first, the 50-Meter Dash. From there we'll move onto Grip Strength, a Standing Long Jump, Repeated Side Steps, a Ball Throw, then we'll end with regular, physical exam style tests. I'll go down the line unless one of you would like to volunteer." Mr. Aizawa informed.

I raised my hand, "I'll go first, Mr. Aizawa!"

I saw a slight smile come across his face, I wonder why? I stepped out of the line and stood next to Mr. Aizawa and Ms. Kaoru. I stood behind the starting line of this 50-Meter Dash test, I activated Gear Two and waited for Mr. Aizawa's mark.

"And... Start." He announced.

Within seconds, I flew down the track, I stopped at the end of the line. I turned around and saw Mr. Aizawa look down at his stopwatch.

"1.03 seconds." Mr. Aizawa relayed.

Awesome! I was off to an impressive start, these next few tests should be easy! I was curious to see the difference between implementing One For All with my Overdrive Quirk, and without it, not to mention my other abilities.

[30 Minutes Later]

Mr. Aizawa decided to end this test with that ball throw he was talking about. I was up to throw, Ishimoto was tested before me, he got infinity using his Quirk! Ms. Kaoru had to get another ball for me to throw being that the now old one was most likely in orbit currently. I held the ball in my hands and took a deep breath in, then back out. I can use 10% of One For All throughout my entire body, I'm assuming that I can use it only at 1% in my hands. I channeled One For All in my hands as I entered Gear Two of my Overdrive. I chucked the ball as hard as I could, thankfully, I didn't injure my hands!

I looked over at Mr. Aizawa who showed me my score, "1,200.3 meters."

"W-Woah! That's amazing, Mabel!" Inazuma beamed.

"Thanks!" I smiled.

I returned back to the line, I did pretty well today, I've got no doubt in my mind that I'll pass. Once everyone had gotten their testing done, we returned to the classroom, Mr. Aizawa had the final results in his hands.

"Hmm... Impressive, this might just be the best class I've gotten in quite some time. A couple of you could've done better, you all pass." He told us.

I felt a wave of relief pass over all of us, Mr. Aizawa dismissed us from class, I started packing my things when I heard someone slide into the doorway.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" Mitsuri wondered.

"Ah, I forgot to tell you, I'm your Foundational Hero Studies Teacher!" He grinned.

"WHAT?!" We all exclaimed.

Lemillion was going to be teaching us as well?! This was astounding! Who else was going to be teaching us I wonder? As Mitsuri, Ishimoto, and others talked to him, I left the classroom. Today was rather quick, I would've figured that we would've had more to do. I found my locker and took my jacket out from it, as soon as I turned to shut it, Deku was standing right there in front of me.

"G-Geez!" I yelped.

"Oh, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you, are you okay?" He apologized.

"Y-Yes, I just didn't expect you to be standing right there." I slightly laughed.

He nodded at me, "I need you to come with me, there's something we need to talk about."

He sounded a lot more serious than normal, was there something wrong? We headed towards the teacher's lounge, once we entered, I sat down on a chair as he sat down on the couch in front of me. He sat with his hands clasped in front of him.

"I should've told you this before I bestowed One For All to you, I apologize for what I'm about to tell you, I'm assuming you know who Tomura Shigaraki is?" Deku spoke up.

"Tomura Shigaraki...? I believe so, my Mother and Father used to tell me stories about him. My Father was a part of his group for a short while, he was ordered to kill All Might, that's when he decided to leave them." I answered.

He looked towards the windows, "There's no way that I can sugarcoat this, but Shigaraki's whole goal was to get his hands on One For All. Your Father, Kacchan, and I managed to stop him temporarily. But it only seems as if that it was a front in order for us to let him bloom his Quirk, All For One, being that he's sitting in Tartarus currently. There's just one thing I'm fearing..."

He looked at me, I've never seen him look so serious in my entire life, it was almost frightening.

"...You might just be the last person to hold One For All, and Shigaraki might just be the last person to hold All For One." He continued.

I looked down at the ground, the last person to hold One For All, does that mean... That I might die? Not only that, does that mean that Shigaraki would be after me? Deku placed his hand on my shoulder, a smile appeared on his face, which made me feel a bit better.

"But rest assured, we'll keep you safe, none of you are going to experience what we had to when we were becoming Pro Heroes. We'll try our best, I'm sure your Father and Mother will be doing their upmost best as well." He reassured me.

"Then I promise to do my best to make the most of this Quirk, I won't let you down, Deku!" I responded.

*THIRD PERSON*

Izuku kept smiling as Mabel delivered her promise, echoes of Alyx Leonidus traveled through his mind.

"You really are like your Father, perhaps you'll be stronger than him someday, no... Maybe you WILL be stronger than him one day." Midoriya thought.

He dismissed Mabel from the lounge as he left towards the 1-A classroom. Shota sat in his sleeping bag, catching up on sleep, as Rei sorted through papers.

"Rei, Aizawa, glad to see that you two are doing well!" He greeted.

"Ah, Izuku! What brings you here?" Rei wondered.

"I was just curious to see how my son did during that Quirk Apprehension Test. I also wanted to know the class in general." He smiled.

"Well, Ishimoto passed with flying colors! Grip Strength, however, he needs to work on. Everyone actually did pretty good." Rei told him.

Izuku sat down in front of the desk, "Uh huh, that's good to hear. What's the class look like?"

Rei handed him a sheet with the names and Quirks of the students in Class 1-A. A general, brief description followed right below their names:

"Ishimoto Midoriya. Quirk: Zero Gravity

Able to nullify the effects of gravity on nonliving and living objects, using the fingerpads on his fingers, causing them to become weightless and float.

Naoki Bakugo. Quirk: Explosive Phoenixes

Can send, manipulate, or use Phoenixes as a weapon. They have the ability to be used as an explosive.

Wazu Aizawa. Quirk: Erasing Laugh

Able to make people laugh uncontrollably, opponent can not use their Quirk while laughing or up to 5 minutes after laughing has worn off, has to wear mask to prevent random outbursts in a public setting.

Hotaru Tokoyami. Quirk: Shadow Frog

Allows her to manifest a shadow-like form, allowing her to morph her body much like Dark Shadow, she also has the abilities of a Frog.

Mitsuri Togata. Quirk: Permeating Waves

Can launch shockwaves that can track and go through the target in order to cause the illusion of missing. Shockwaves can also help her travel through solid surfaces.

Zakaza Sero. Quirk: Poltergeist Tape

Able to shoot tape from her elbows that can be manipulated freely, much like Zero Gravity, and controlled telekinetically by the user.

Yamashiro Oyama. Quirk: Gigantification

Allows the user to grow in size, enhancing her strength significantly.

Mabel Leonidus. Quirk: Overdrive & Creation

Overdrive enhances the users strength, speed, and basic senses, giving them a colored aura around them. She's also able to create nonliving objects using the lipids in her body.

Hiroto Oijiro. Quirk: Invisible Tail

Able to use an invisible tail as a weapon, can also use that tail to make himself invisible.

Inazuma Kaminari. Quirk: Electric Earphone Jacks

Can use earphone jacks to send electric shocks through surfaces or towards opponents. Earphone jacks can also be used for long distance hearing.

Takumo & Arai Todoroki. Quirks: Half-Hot Half-Cold

Both can generate fire on one side of their body, and ice on the other. Takumo = Fire on Left, Ice on Right. Arai = Fire on Right, Ice on Left.

Kokoro Shinso. Quirk: Sleep-Washing

Able to make the opponent fall asleep once the target responds to her verbally. Will not take effect unless acted upon.

Chou Kocho. Quirk: Butterfly Blast

Grants the user large, multi-colored butterfly wings, he can also fire off a colored beam from the antenna on his head.

Saizaki Kirishima. Quirk: Acidic Hardening

Allows the user to harden herself while coating herself in acid. She can shred through and melt nonliving objects with relative ease.

Kotake Toga. Quirk: Transform

After ingesting opponent's blood, is able to transform into that user like a carbon copy. She can use the opponent's Quirk if she understands how it works.

Uchima Iida. Quirks: Engine & Zoom

Grants her car-like engines in the back of her calves, alongside the ability to make her vision zoom in on whatever is in her line of sight, up to a total of five-six kilometers.

Yomaura Shoji. Quirk: Dupli-Arms

Grants him a set of tentacles that he can transform into other parts of his body, alongside extending them.

Shirogane Amajiki. Quirk: Manifest & High Smell

Can manifest the physical characteristics of whatever he has eaten, he also has a heightened sense of smell that can detect hidden objects or attacks from up to 10 kilometers away.

Takayoshi Tetsutetsu. Quirk: Steel Fists

Allows him to turn his body into steel alongside granting him the ability to increase the size of his fists."

Izuku set the paper down on the desk, "Huh, it seems as if you've got quite the lineup on your hands! Some of these kids definitely have some interesting Quirks."

"They're scores on the Apprehension Test far surpassed my expectations. I guess I can't blame them due to their parents." Shota replied.

"Yeah, especially Leonidus' daughter! She passed the Ball Throw with a whole 1,200 meters using Gear Two!" Rei added.

Izuku looked rather astonished, during their 3rd Year at U.A., Alyx had thrown his at 1,265.7 meters using Gear Five and Boost Fire: Times 100.

"She must've added One For All on top of her Overdrive! Incredible... I didn't realize it would add that much power." Izuku thought.

*LEONIDUS P.O.V.*

Once I left U.A. I saw Ishimoto wave at me, I smiled and waved back as I made my way towards him.

"H-Hey, Mabel, I wanted to give you something." He told me.

"Hm? What is it?" I asked.

He shakily handed me a small envelope, "I-I... I wanted to give you this."

I took it from him and opened it up. Inside was the drawing he made of me from his notebook. I looked at him with both of my eyebrows lowered and my head tilted.

"Did you tear this out of your notebook? You didn't have to do that, you know." I wondered.

"Well, yeah, I... I figured you would've liked it being that you called it adorable. I-I... I... I guess the drawing matches the person?" He simpered.

I felt my face heat up, I don't know why, but instead of taking the compliment... I punched him in the stomach. He fell to the ground slowly afterwards.

"Oh goodness, I apologize! I don't know why I did that! Are you alright?" I quickly fretted.

"Y-Yeah... I'm fine..." He croaked.

I helped him up as I healed him, I guess I didn't really expect him to say that. Before I left for home, I looked back at him, then smiled.

"Hey, thanks, I honestly love it already." I spoke softly.

I took off before he could say anything else to me. I put my hands over my face as I felt it heat up again.

"That dummy... Give me a damn break..." I muttered.

[10 Minutes Later...]

I landed back down on the patio of my house. I took a deep breath in, then one out, before I entered my house.

"Mabel!" Ashi greeted.

He rushed over to me and hugged me, I gave him a huge hug back.

"What'd you do at school today, Ashi?" I wondered.

"One of my friends drew a picture of Mama and Papa for me! He's one of the big kids we were paired up with at art class today!" He bubbled.

He let go of me and ran over to the table, he picked up the drawing, Ashi eagerly presented the drawing to me. He peeked his eyes over the top of the paper.

"That looks amazing! Did you thank him?" I smiled.

"Uh huh! I already showed Mama and Papa, they really liked it! Mama said she was gonna hang it up in my room for me." He nodded.

He hurried into the living room where Mom and Dad presumably were. I was honestly exhausted after today, hopefully tomorrow would be a bit more lax and easier, at least I hope! I walked into the room, I had a question to ask my Dad.

"Hey, Dad, do you happened to know someone. I've got an assistant teacher in my class that's name is 'Ms. Setsuko', does that ring a bell at all?" I questioned.

He immediately stopped what he was doing and looked at me, "What did you say that last name was?"

"Setsuko...?" I slowly restated.

From the look on his face, it looked as if he was remembering all sorts of things, all at one time. Mom sat up and looked at him with concern.

"Alyx, darling, are you alright?" She asked.

"Whatever she asks you, I want you to say 'No' to everything, alright?" My Father told me.

I blinked a few times before answering, "Ooookay...? I promise."

He nodded at me and put his arm around Mom once more. Sooo, I guess those two really must've had some sort of history, do I even want to know?
