Ending the Mental Nightmare, The Passing of the Torch (Movie Saga)

*MABEL'S P.O.V*

I opened my eyes and found myself descending from the air in Dad's arms. He smiled at me as I felt my wounds in my stomach disappear. We landed on the ground,the cold misty air that surrounded the town was gone as the sun finally shined down on us. Dad set me down on the ground and I placed my sword in my sheath, people began to come out of the surrounding buildings.

"Is it... Is it over?" A man wondered.

Dad looked over at the people, "You're all safe! There's no more danger here, you all can resume your daily activities!"

The people hooted and hollered, Dad and I began to clean up the damages around town. At the end of all of this, I was beyond exhausted, I couldn't wait to head back to Sheyenne's home!

[30 Minutes Later...]

Dad rang the doorbell and we tiredly stood in front of the door. The door finally opened and Karson looked down at the two of us.

"Rough night?" He chuckled.

"Demons, Karson, fucking demons." Dad responded.

We entered the house, I immediately switched into sweatpants and a tank top. I made my way into the guest room, I looked down at the bed, then I face-planted into it. My phone rang, I turned my head and tapped it to answer it.

"Hey, did you land alright? How'd you sleep?" Ishimoto asked.

"It was... Eventful. I haven't slept yet at all. How about you?" I replied.

"I've been sleeping okay. Dad's been tracking down that evil version of your Dad for a little bit now since the attack. They haven't found a whole lot of anything yet." He told me.

I turned around and stared at the ceiling, "Hey, Ishi do you... Wanna maybe go get something to eat once I get back from Nevada?"

"O-Oh, y-y-you wanna hang out? O-Okay, sounds like a plan!" Ishimoto stuttered.

"Alright, I'll see you soon, Ishi." I smiled.

We hung up and I couldn't stop smiling, the closet door flung open, Luna landed face first onto the carpet. She quickly sat up and shook the sense back into her head.

"Ooo! You've got a boyfriend?" Luna grinned.

"W-W-WHAT?!?! NO! T-T-THAT'S NOT TRUE! H-HE'S JUST A FRIEND!" I sputtered.

She kicked her feet into the air, "Uh huh, next you'll be telling me that you're not thinking about dating!"

"Why would you care? I don't believe you've been in a relationship before." I replied.

"No, but I know very well what love is, Mabel. Your parents taught me that one." She nodded.

"Wait, I've been meaning to ask you, how exactly do you know them?" I questioned.

Luna sat up on the floor, "I met them while they were still in school at U.A. I wasn't always like this, as a matter of fact, I can transform into a cat thanks to my Quirk. I was in and out of homes because I would randomly take my human form. When I met them, it happened yet again, but they didn't throw me out. Honestly, it was the first time I've ever felt loved by anyone."

"Oh, I see... I apologize if what I said earlier sounded harsh, I didn't mean to talk back like that." I apologized.

"It's okay, I can tell that you're tired, I get a bit cranky when I'm tired too." Luna giggled.

As I laid back down, Luna hopped up and curled up at the foot of the bed. I finally got the chance to get some sleep in!

*THIRD PERSON*

"Hey, where are you going, Papa?" Ashi asked.

"I'm going to see an old family friend of mine. Tell Mama and the others, okay?" Alyx smiled.

Alyx knelt down and patted Ashi's head, he nodded before quickly returning to the living room. Leonidus grabbed his jacket before leaving the house, he took off towards his desired location. After about 10 minutes of flying, he landed down in a cemetery in front of a giant statue of Ms. America. He closed his eyes and felt the calming air wash over him.

"Hey, what brings you here, Alyx?" A woman questioned.

Leonidus turned his head and saw Ms. America standing next to him, her hand placed on top of his shoulder. He slightly smiled and looked back down at the ground.

"I just figured I'd come and visit. I... I tried my best you know? Becoming a hero and all? But after everything that's happened, I feel like I've failed." Alyx admitted.

"Are you saying that you failed me?" Ms. America inquired.

"Yeah, I honestly feel like I did, you were the first person that I made one of those promises to after all. I've never felt like calling myself a hero, although everyone around me thinks that I am, even after all of the things I've done." He sighed.

"Alyx, you didn't fail me one bit!" She chuckled.

"I-I didn't?" Leonidus restated.

Ms. America shook her head, "No, you've fulfilled your promise to me, that's why I rest easy now. You became the hero you wanted to be, the greatest you could possibly become, just like you promised me. And I couldn't be any more proud of you, Alyx Leonidus."

Alyx sat there with his mouth slightly agape, absorbing his master's words, the darkness and void in his mind was blown away. These were the words that Alyx was waiting to hear his entire life. Tears streamed down his blank face as he hugged Ms. America, his grip tightened on her cape.

"You saved me... You've done so much for me..." Alyx spoke softly.

"Before I go, I'd like to give you this." She told him.

Ms. America took off her cape and handed it to Alyx, as he looked up to say something, she was gone. Alyx fell to his knees, his tears dampening the cape.

"Thank you for everything... There's no way I can repay you, not after all you've done, but I'll do my best to keep them safe, just for you. That will be my last promise to you." He muttered.

Alyx wiped his eyes and folded up the cape, he turned around and saw someone that he wasn't expecting.

"Momo?" He slightly sniffled.

She smiled at him as she saw a brightness in his eyes that she hadn't seen since they first met. Momo walked over and hugged him tightly.

"You're okay... You're finally okay..." Momo beamed.

"And let's keep it that way, alright?" Alyx responded.

Momo looked back at Alyx, "Hey... You're using my coconut body wash again, aren't you?"

"Oops, looks like I've been caught red-handed!" He laughed.

Momo gave him a kiss before shaking her head, meanwhile, back at Sheyenne's home...

*MABEL'S P.O.V.*

"Mabel, Maaaabel." Someone poked my face.

I shot up, "Huh?! Heh?! Ha!? Oh, Master Rengoku!"

"You did amazing, defending yourself against an Upper Moon on your first outing as a Demon Slayer, I couldn't be more proud. I bet your glad that Great Grandmother of yours helped with our training!" He grinned.

"Y-Yeah, she taught me a lot! I can't thank you enough either, my Dad probably would be dead if he never had me train with you. I suppose I should get going now, thank you so much for everything, Master Rengoku." I agreed.

"Ah, before you go, allow me to give you something." He responded.

He took his haori off and handed me his sword, "I'm giving these to you, Mabel Leonidus. I have no reason to use them anymore, my family calls me forth, so I won't be seeing any of you after this. This is my final request, I'd like you to carry on as the next Flame Hashira."

"W-Wait... You... But why me? Why not someone more experienced like my Dad?" I wondered.

"What you just showed me proves more than enough that you're Hashira material, Mabel. That fire in your soul to protect others, your passion to persevere through anything even if it's much greater than you, that's what being a Hashira is all about. Don't worry, I'll be there to guide you alongside those other people that have talked to you in your dreams. Just remember to go beyond your limits, and to always.... Set your heart ablaze!" Rengoku smiled.

I mustered a smile as tears began to build up, "O-Okay! I-I'll... I'll do my best, I won't let you down, Master!"

His family appeared behind him, they all walked away from me, I stood there with tears in my eyes as I held his haori and katana in my hands. Rengoku looked back and gave me one last smile as he faded away, leaving me alone in the white voided area.

"I'll do my best... I promise, Kyojuro Rengoku! I'll live up to the Flame Hashira name, I won't let this be taken for granted, neither will I ever forget you!" I vowed.

I woke up after I opened my eyes, his haori and katana were placed right next to my bed. I picked his haori up and held it tightly, I'd imagine this would be the one night of many that I'd be up crying at 2 in the morning, how long was I asleep for? I heard the door and Dad walked in.

"Hey, we're going to head back after tomorrow and-" He tried telling me.

I heard him quickly make his way over to me as I looked up at him.

"Sweetheart, what's the matter?" He spoke gently.

"M-Mr... Re-Rengoku h-h-he... H-He gave me this b-before... H-He... H-He's gone!" I bawled.

Dad hugged me as I cried my eyes out into him, he gently rubbed my back and slowed his breathing, which helped me calm down a bit. He wiped the tears from my eyes and warmly smiled at me.

"He was an amazing person, I'm sure his family wanted him to finally come home, I know it'll be hard not seeing him again. I'll miss him a lot too, Bell, but he'll be with you every step of the way. I promise you that he'll never guide you in the wrong direction, is soul is too kind to do that to anyone." Dad smiled.

"I-I know but... I really didn't want him to go." I sniffled.

"I can tell, it's a hard thing to deal with, I've dealt with what you're feeling in the past as well. You'll see him again someday, I'm 100% certain of it! Say, there's left over pizza in the fridge, do you wanna do some raiding?" He grinned.

I wiped my eyes and smiled back, "Okay, sure."

We walked out of the guest room, Mom entered the hallway we were in with Ashi in her arms. Ashi was fast asleep in her arms, we all walked into the living room as Mom wiped a bit of tears from my eyes. Dad got pizza from the fridge and we all sat down on the couch together. I'm not sure why, but I couldn't help but cry tears of happiness. Even though we never had problems as a family, or really any problems with each other in general, it felt like we were sitting down as a normal, genuinely happy family for once. The sadness that surrounded Dad was completely gone, Ashi was well... Still his wild little self, and Mom seemed to feel one million times better.

If this was because of Master Rengoku, then I owe him my entire life and more because of it. I leaned against Mom's shoulder as she gently combed my hair with her fingers. Dad and I finished off the pizza within a few minutes.

"Hey... Can we... Can we all sleep in here?" I asked.

"Sure, darling, I don't see why not." Mom smiled.

She created a huge blanket that covered all of us, I snuggled up between Mom and Ashi as Dad wrapped his arms around all of us. It didn't take me too long to fall asleep, I'm glad that everything was alright now.

[8 Hours Later...]

I felt little hands pat my face, I opened my eyes to see Ashi looking at me, he had his usual smile on his face once I woke up. He hugged my head and pressed his cheek against mine.

"Big green beans!" He bubbled.

"W-What?" I chuckled.

I sat up and held him in my arms. He kicked his little legs out to try and escape from me, but it was no good.

"Uh oh, you've been caught by the Monster of the East! You're punishment is..." I bellowed.

"...1 kiss and 10 tickles!" I exclaimed.

I kissed him on the cheek and tickled him as he giggled. Dad came around the corner of the couch then picked Ashi up.

"Papa to the rescue!" He chuckled.

"Yo, Alyx, are we-" I heard Sheyenne's voice.

I looked up to see what she was looking at, Ashi had chomped down on an entire pizza by himself! Dad patted his back and smiled at him.

"Atta boy, Ashi!" He beamed.

Mom stepped into the room and looked directly over at the two of them.

"Mama! I ate a whole Peeza!" He laughed.

"Uh huh, I see that, honey! Alyx my dear, could you please wipe is face off?" Mom smiled.

Dad got to wiping off Ashi's face as Mom's usual tired look appeared on her face. Sheyenne looked at Mom and smirked at the look on her face.

"You have that look on your face constantly, don't you?" She snickered.

"I constantly worry about my own sanity, it's almost as if I've got a third child, it's rather wonderful." Mom nodded slowly.

We all got dressed for the day, I couldn't help but feel as if someone was standing behind me while I was getting dressed. I turned around and...

"E-EEEEEK!!" I shrieked.

I threw my sweatpants at it and covered myself, "Y-You... You pervert! What the fuck do you think you're doing?!"

"Apologies, Mabel, I did not think that you were getting dressed." Mikaboshi responded.

"It's fine, just knock next time, please? At least I'm still dressed." I sighed.

I finished getting dressed as Mikaboshi faded out of the room. I was about to enter the living room to see if everyone else was ready until I heard something.

"Okay, and? So what if the IRS is after me, what are they gonna do, arrest me?" Joshua challenged.

Well... That was something. I walked out of the hallway and into the living room.

[One Hour Later...]

I couldn't believe how beautiful Las Vegas was! We were on our way to meet the Number One Pro Hero of America as well, I wonder what they were like! We parked in front of a massive building, it was similar to Dad and Mom's HQ back at home, except it wasn't as tall. We all got out of the car and a woman stepped out of the building, her hero suit looked vaguely familiar.

"Ah, The Overdrive Hero, Creati, a pleasure to finally meet you both!" She smiled.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Lady America. Apologies about your Mother, I'm sure she'd be extremely proud of you." Dad nodded.

She looked at Ashi and ruffled his hair, "You brought the little tyke along as well? He's adorable, looks just like you, Alyx. Your daughter looks like the both of you as well, hey... How strong is she?"

"Oh, Mabel? She's rather strong given the variant of Overdrive she has. Luckily, she was blessed with violet colored Overdrive, which is the strongest variant." Mom told her.

"Well, show me then! Give it a shot!" Lady America exulted.

"A-Are you sure? I won't be holding anything back." I questioned.

"Uh huh, go on." She nodded.

Dad created a shield around us to prevent any damage to the surrounding area. I went into Gear Two alongside One For All at 25%. I reeled my fist back and punched her open palm with as much force as I possibly could. The ground beneath of us shattered completely as steam rose from my hand. The shield around us went down and I looked up to see if I hurt her.

"Wow, you weren't kidding, this kid packs one hell of a punch! Impressive!" She grinned.

"H-Huh?! W-What? B-But..." I faltered.

It was like my attack did nothing to her! Dad reconstructed the sidewalk we stood on and Lady America shook her hand off.

"So, what were you wanting to ask me, Leonidus?" Lady America wondered.

"I'm prepping for the future, I'm unsure whether or not it'll happen, but we're going to need all the help we can get. There's a villain that we're having a problem with going by the name of 'Lord Shimura', I'm sure you've heard of him." Dad explained.

"That I have and I'm already on board. We've gotten no issues here with villains, so I can help out, just give me a call!" She agreed.

Her and Dad shook hands, with her on our side, I felt much better with confronting Shimura. Whenever that might be, I won't have to be scared of him anymore!
