Saitama City, shrouded in the dim glow of flickering streetlights, held its breath in the oppressive silence of the night.
In a desolate alley, the air was thick with tension, as the body of a female pro hero, now lay sprawled on the cold, unforgiving ground. Her purple eye mask failed to conceal the agony etched on her face, and a white, tight-fitting bodysuit bore witness to the remnants of a savage battle.
The acrid scent of copper lingered in the air as a lake of blood pooled around Karna, reflecting the depth of her grievous wounds. The metallic tang of despair clung to her, amplifying the stinging pain that overloaded her sensory system.
The sounds of the city, once a distant hum, now vanished, replaced by the haunting echoes of Karna's tortured breathing.
'Is this...My end?...'
her mind involuntarily replayed the night's events that had led her to this deadly situation.
...
It began like any other patrol, the routine rhythm of a pro hero's duty. The city's nocturnal sounds hummed in the distance as Karna navigated the streets.
"HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!"
It was in this tranquility that the chilling cry of a woman asking for help reached Karna's ears, slicing through the stillness like a blade.
Without hesitation, Karna rushed towards the source of the distress call. The alley loomed before her, an unspoken foreboding gripped her. she ignored this premotion and walked into the alley.
"HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!"
the voice as if it was put on a loop, it kept repeating itself over and over with the same pace and tone. It was as if someone recorded it and played it on loop.
but karna failed to notice this, her thoughts are all about reaching quickly to the scene and saving the poor woman who may be is getting assaulted, rapped or even in a life threatening situation.
her footsteps echoed against the narrow walls of the alley. As she reached a dead end, she looked around searching for the supposed victim, only to find an empty space. The recorded cry for help echoed mockingly from concealed speakers next to the trash can.
"is this..." She stood there dumbfounded, "a prank?"
"or maybe..." she thought of something even more dangerous.
Her Heart starts beating faster as she realized she might be lured into a trap.
Suddenly, a shiver run across her spin as she felt something coming from above her, she lifted her head and saw A figure materializing from the darkness, masked and ominous, wielding knives. she immediately understood he must be the mastermind behind this ambush, A villain!
She quickly extended her palms, sending arrows made of wind, but the villain dodged her attacks mid air, as if he was expecting her attack.
obviously she was targeted, the villain must have done a research on her quirk and her patrol routes.
Instincts and training kicked in as Karna quickly backed up avoiding just in time his deadly slash attack.
But the enemy was very agile, he quickly resumed his ruthless attacks, she fought back using her kicking skills to keep him away.
Her Quirk is called "Wind Arrows." which grants her the power to generate arrows composed of wind energy from her palms. However, the utilization of this quirk comes with its own set of rules. To create these wind arrows, Karna must concentrate for at least 5 seconds, channeling her focus into the formation of the projectiles. The intricacy of this process demands precision and an undivided attention, limiting its effectiveness in the chaos of close-quarter combat.
The villain's attacks left one after another injuries on her body, he didn't give her any chance to use her quirk at all.
Desperation etched on her face as Karna without hesitation clicked on a special button on her belt that sent out a distress signal, The villain, however, remained relentless. His knives danced with an uncanny precision, carving cutting marks into her flesh. he aimed at the joints which made her movements slower and difficult.
she Realized she was outmatched and not an opponent to this ruthless villain in a close fight.
Although she acknowledged this, she thought she can drag him for a long time with her martial arts skills until the help come, but the turning point that caught her off guard is when the villain sticked out his long ugly tongue and licked her blood from his blade in a horrifying disgusting display.
'What!'
Suddenly, she lost control over her body, she can't move even a finger!
A wave of vulnerability washed over her, realizing she was at the mercy of a madman.
"BANG!"
"THUD"
With a strong kick to the midsection, she was sent flying and slammed into the alley's wall before landing limply on the ground.
Overlooking her, The Hero Killer Stain. His silhouette, shrouded in darkness, loomed over her like an executioner ready to deliver the final blow. His sharp knife pressed against her throat, poised to sever the thin line between life and death. Stain's fervent words, dripping with disdain, echoed through the desolate alley.
"your place is in the kitchen!"
"You don't deserve to call yourself a hero!"
he spat in a maniacal fashion, his conviction akin to a zealot defending his sacred beliefs. "How dare you dirty such a noble title! You so-called pros only seek attention and fame. I won't allow you to go as you please. This society needs real heroes, not fakers like you!"
Just as Stain prepared to execute his twisted version of justice, a piercing shout shattered the ominous silence.
"Stay away from her!" The sudden intervention came in the form of a whip hurtling towards Stain. A female pro hero, none other than Midnight, stood with an air of defiance, accompanied by three male heroes.
the four of them were just one or two streets away from the location of the signal, they run at their full speed, during their coming they meet each other, fortunately they made it in time.
Stain backed away, narrowly evading the whip.
Midnight Saw the female pro hero laying on the ground, her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Karna!" She screamed in shock.
this female pro hero is a member of her hero agency!
"You Bastard!" Seeing Karna covered in blood, Midnight became furious.
calculating the odds, Stain realized he was outnumbered. so he Swiftly jumped between the walls with uncanny agility until he reached the rooftop of an adjacent building.
"tsk, consider yourself lucky this time!"
"Next time, I'll kill all of you, Fakers!"
Stain left these words echoing through the alley.
The male heroes, fueled by a desire to avenge their friend, were ready to pursue, but Midnight's commanding voice halted their advance.
"This villain is tricky" Midnight warned, "If you face him one on one, you'll lose. Let's get Karna back for treatment and stop her blood loss. Once she's awake, we'll extract information about him."
Midnight knows that Karna's quirk is strong in large distances fights, but even in close quarter combats she wouldn't lose easily, which means the villain's quirk must give him a huge advantage against close quarter fighters, and must of these heroes unfortunately fell into this category.
Furthermore, she needs to rescue her subordinate as soon as possible. She is concerned that the villain may have teammates who will attack her once the other heroes leave, so they must stick together in this situation.
Acknowledging the wisdom in Midnight's words, the three male heroes reluctantly agreed, realizing that the pursuit of justice required patience and strategy. the wounded female pro hero was gently lifted from the ground, they quickly left to the nearest hospital.
