Our Classroom: Class D

Arina's Light Board had run out for some time now since most long period Spells only lasted five minutes and required five minutes before they could be used again.

She skilfully landed on the ground as her magical method of transportation dissipated into nothingness. She looked at one of the timer boxes. The time had been set for thirty minutes and it remained nine more before time would be up. So far, only a few Casters had been able to get to the finish line and some were well on their way.

"Pfft, showoff." The Light Caster referred to none other than Yuri who was riding on some kind of snake like shadow mass below his feet. It allowed him to move great distances in a minute and anyone who was watching would see that he could move meters in seconds.

This was his Spell, Shadow Path. He was a Shadow Caster.

Nevertheless, she continued to move until she could see the finish line, "It's just up ahead." She was about to go into hyperdrive as there was only about seven minutes on the clock. But then whe noticed off to the left, she could see a rather colorful girl having trouble with a bull that looked like it was on fire.

"Luz! Watch out!!!" She shouted and the girl had moved to the side, avoiding the bull's charge by just a hair before struggling to get away from it but the bull was still relentless, "This must be a strong Drach."

While on her way, the Mech Caster in her Speed Suit also saw that the Color Caster could use some help and with that, changed directions in favor of lending her a hand.

"Hey, ugly!" She taunted the bull, getting its attention as Luz moved out of the way. It ran at her, but she zoomed away then it charged again but she just continued to zigzag around the creature, further aggravating it.

"Luz, get outta here before I-" A dim glow dispersed the magic particles that had formed the Speed Suit, "Run the Spell down."

"Well, we're screwed." They tried running away but the bull was fast and right on their tail. It opened its mouth wide while sprinting and began to release a kind of multicolored blast from its mouth, "Definitely one of the powerful ones!" They thought they were going to be eliminated for sure, tears were almost forming out of their eyes which they forced shut.

"I got you, girls!" Arina swooped in, creating an extra large ball of light and hitting the multicolored ball away before it haf been formed, "Whoa! I did it! I'm on fire today. That's really strange."

The girls appeared right beside her and ducked down together, crawling under a destroyed structure as the bull released a blast of fire from its horns. "Not yet, you aren't." Serena and Luz quipped.

They got out of the structure and the most fortunate thing happened to Arina, her Spell was ready for use again.

[3 mins, 10 secs]

"Light Casting: Light Board!" She created and they were all just able to fit on it as they glided away but it seemed like this Drach was more tenacious than others as it continued to chase them as if it held a personal grudge.

Ririka who could see them from afar as they were one of the last set of people remaining on the race track, "The red head and blue haired one could've gone to the finish line but they're way too stubborn to leave their friend behind. I feel a bit sorry for them, that Drach's been outdid by a group of three Casters before and it must think that they're the same bunch."

Arina desperately avoided the falling debris all over while trying to keep up the distance between them, "Doesn't this thing give up."

"It seems not and I've got no firepower to knock this thing back." Serena had tried using her metal wires but they were melted before they got to it.

Luz was feeling guilty for it was because of her they had decided to stay behind and help instead of just crossing the finish line selfishly and now, it seemed that all three of thsm would be eliminated, "I've got to do something. I've got to help."

With the sheer force of willpower, Luz had prompted her Charm to manifest, a glow of multicolored aura enveloping her as a bracelet with a flower pattern appeared on her wrist and on the petals were the Gems and one of them was open as usual.

"Perfect. Picture Casting: Past Encounter!!!" A ball of multicolored energy, just like the one the bull had tried to use on them earlier had been formed and just like that, she took down the Drach and just in time as they approached the finish line, "Booyah!"

The three girls had obviously passed and were made to stay in Horiku's dormitory while some officials had taken their Charms to run some kind of test. There were only two roommates allowed per room and by sheer luck, Arina and Serena had been placed in the same one while Luz was in another. Yuri was also in the dorm but they didn't see much of him as the dormitory was seperated somewhat between genders.

Out of the 300 or so candidates that had enrolled, only 75 had passed whether due to their skill or by pure luck.

Arina had woken up, early in the morning but it seemed her friend, Serena had already gotten up early and was nowhere to be seen. The room was a bit grand for a dormitory but then again, the school was funded by the Great Five so it was filthy rich while equally being disciplined.

Breakfast came from special flat small square shaped structures in their rooms that at just a touch, it could read their mind and the food they wanted would be created.

They had nothing like this in Syria, "This Food Synthesizer is reason enough to enroll in this academy." Arina had also received the same whatcha-ma-call-it that the people on the bus had which were called Compartment Bags which allowed them to carry things that would normally not fit in such a small bag.

Arina got dressed in the uniform which had been well improved by Luz and went on her way until she arrived in the main building of the school and went up the path that lead to the tower that held her class, leading her to stairs, "No elevator."

Although it looked like it would take forever, it was like she had already walked a few steps and was already in front of the wooden door.

"It's like magic. Oh wait, it is." She opened the door with the label 'Class D' above it. Going in, the class looked like a regular highschool classroom with teenagers standing or leaning on walls, talking to each other.

Counting, there were fifteen in the class and it seemed she had been the last to come. There were seven boys and eight girls.

"Umm, where do I sit?" She thought she had said so to herself as the seats around Serena and Luz were all taken as those who were sitting there had put their bags on the chair and had already gotten to tagging them as theirs. But the others had heard her and then, a tall brunette girl walked up to her.

"You can sit here." She pointed at the seat next to her chair, very kindly. She seemed like the type that was calm and collected most of the time. Very leadership material.

"Uh, thanks. I appreciate it." The Light Caster said and they introduced themselves to eachother. The girl introduced herself as Kasami Horiyama.

"Look out!" A voice resonated as a blast of water moved across the room and headed for Arina who could do nothing but stand there.

Kasami stood in front of her and casted with her hands out, "Earth Casting: Boulder Fist!" Like the Spell described, a fist made out of rock formed and absorbed the pressurized water within it. "You're not supposed to practice Spells in here."

"I'm so sorry. That was a complete accident." The girl who was responsible for the assault walked up to the two of them, frantically bowing in apology which they told her to stop. "I'm Raine Harukaze." Raine had aqua blue hair and was about the same height as Arina.

Eventually, a teacher walked into the class and it was if all of them had been hit with a dilligence Spell as they all sat down in harmony.

The teacher was a young man who was a real looker that was in his mid twenties, he had multiple small pocket bags on his waist and wore a full green outfit with dark green and dreamy blue eyes, "Hi there, students." Unlike Ririka, he spoke with actual enthusiasm, "I'm Kento Kuzikage and I'll be your homeroom teacher."

He said and they greeted him back respectfully, then a boy that sat next ro Yuri, the one from before who had spiky red hair rose his hand up.

"What kind of casting trait do you have?"

A smile tugged on Kento's lips when he heard the question, "Well, if you must know..."

"We must!" Luz shouted while hitting her table, much to the amusement of almost the whole class who bursted into laughter inckuding the teacher and she wasn't offended. Not one bit.

"Well, my Casting trait is known as Craft Casting. With the items and resources I have on my person or left lying around, I can combine their best aspects or simply refine it. Observe." Flat discs of metals, wires and other things began flying out of his Compartment Bags.

The metals in particular began to surround their teacher as they watched in awe while Luz took down notes for some reason.

"Craft Casting: Metal Armor." The metals attached themselves to him with a few other things and fused together, becoming a shiny silver armor around him. He also formed a spear in one hand and a shield in the other, "Pretty cool, right?"

"That was awesome." The boy who had asked the question, Ayato remarked and the whole class cheered.

Kento blushed, rubbing the back of his head. "Aww, you guys." Despite his age, he acted quite childish which was something they found charming.

"Okay, your first lesson for today will be all about Charms. Your Charms are precious and some Humans and other races have recently found methods of stealing Caster's Charms and gaining power for them. So you'll be learning how to camouflage them.

"Because right now, they're chopped full of magic that's easily detectable. So can anyone show the rezt of the class how to do so."

Yuri and Kasami both got up, their Charms hadn't been visible the entire time. They got to the front of the class and their Charms became visible before they closed their eyes and concentrated and they disappeared, becoming inconspicuous items on their clothing.

The rest of them tried and Arina made her brooch disappear, it became a kind of patch design on her top."That's pretty good I guess."
