Mia picked Lia up from her apartment, which she had moved into a week before, no longer living in Mia's house.
They drove to Char T Bar and ordered drinks, drinking until they were quite tipsy.
"Lia, don't do what you did last time you got drunk," Mia said, her words slurring a bit. "You don't remember what happened that night?"
"Don't worry," Lia said. "The guy I slept with was very handsome. Did you see how beautiful my kids are?"
"You shouldn't go around sleeping with random people!" Mia scolded. "Lia, don't be reckless," Mia said, but her words were muddled, barely intelligible. "You shouldn't just sleep with someone you don't even know."
"It's been five years, Mia," Lia slurred. "Don't I deserve some happiness? Besides, my kids need a father figure."
"But... but..." Mia protested, but she was too drunk to find the words.
