Mummy, Please Bring Daddy Back

She entered through the glass door with her handbag.

Her blue blazer with black pants attracted everyone as she went towards the receptionist's counter.

"Good morning Miss Salvatore." The receptionist greeted her with a graceful smile.

"Hi Miss William, i need my office keys." Her smile turned into a scoff when she noticed her bad mood. Miss William handed the keys to her as she got into the elevator and as she walked backwards to rest on wall, she bumped into someone and turned around.

"What the heck? Who are you and how did you get here?" She was shocked to see a shirtless guy in front of her.

"You bumped into my abs. Aren't they hot?" The guy smirked and she looked at him with murderous eyes.

"How dare you say that to me?"

"What's your name, Princess?" The guy asked.

"Am Mia. Now leave." Mia tried to push him but he pulled her close. Mia's blood boiled and there was nothing in the elevator he could hit on his head.

"Mia....you have such a beautiful name. My name is Nicholas. Please call me Nick." He smiled and Mia tried to loosen from his tight grip.

"Nick let me go!" Mia roared but he chuckled.

"You look even more prettier when you are angry. Please be angrier on our wedding night..." Nicholas blushed and Mia pushed him. He pinned her to the wall.

"Mia, you are very cute. Please give me a chance. I will take care of you..I heard you are a single mother. I will love you and your Princess till i die. My baby mama also gotta Princess named Wendy. They can be sisters." Nicholas promised.

"STOP! Just stop the shit you're saying. And did you say you have a baby mama? You're a moron for actually telling me that. You're shameless. I hate you. Get your stinky hands off me, home wrecker!" Mia yelled.

"How long can you lie to yourself? You and Liam divorced few years ago, and he handed you your daughter Becca without problems. SO NOW A GUY INTERESTED IN YOU WANNA TAKE CARE OF YOU AND YOU ARE SAYING NO!"

"How did you know about my divorce? Are you a spy?" Mia asked.

"Nope. I just want your lips..."

"LIPS?"

"Yeah. Just kiss me once then you'll never see me again." Nicholas said, touching his lips.

"I just wanna take a moment to rejoice that i don't have these lips. I can never kiss an open wound."

"WHAT? HOW DARE YOU INSULT MY GOLDEN LIPS!" Nicholas freaked out as Mia smirked. She pressed buttons and the elevator door opened.

"Just make sure i don't see you here again. Am the second in command in this organization, so if i ever notice your thin legs in my workplace, i'll make sure your lips turn bigger for your filthy baby mamas." She rolled her eyes and left. She opened her office door and threw her handbag on the sofa.

"I can't believe that idiot Nicholas was talking to me in that manner." She sat on her chair as her intercom rang.

"Hello." She greeted the caller.

"Miss William, Becca is here."

"BECCA?" She flinched.

"Let her in through the stairs please." Mia said fast. Few seconds later, Becca came into the office in her uniform.

"MUMMY!!!" Rebecca yelled and Mia went towards her and lifted her, kissing her forehead.

"I missed you, pie." Mia smiled cutely.

"MUMMY! YOU DIDN'T MISS ME!" She started crying.

"Oh no, sweet baby, why are you crying?" Mia felt bad.

"YOU DIDN'T MISS ME! WE CLOSED SCHOOL SINCE 3PM AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO COME PICK ME UP! YOU GOT BURIED IN YOUR WORK!" She yelled and Mia looked apologetic.

"Sweetheart, i was at work all day. But i just came back now because i went to the restaurant to meet someone earlier. I missed you." Mia tried to convince her.

"Its all because i don't have a daddy. HE WOULD HAVE CARED MORE!" At the sound of 'daddy', Mia placed her roughly on the sofa.

"Yesterday you tell me daddy saw some gold coins and fled with it, today you tell me he rode on a cockroach to Pennsylvania, and tomorrow you gonna tell me when i was born he went to the river and never came back so what exactly SHOULD I BELIEVE??? I NEED A DADDY! I NEED A DADDY! BRING DADDY BACK! BRING DADDY -" Before she could finish, Mia raised her hand and gave her a resounding slap. Becca burst into tears.

"WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE EVERYTHING YOU'RE TELLING ME? OMG, YOU'VE GONE SO BOLD! YOU ARE JUST SIX YEARS OLD TALKING SHIT! TELL ME, AM I NOT YOUR MOM, DAD AND EVERYTHING ELSE YOU NEED? DON'T YOU EAT? DON'T YOU DRINK? DON'T YOU LIVE A PERFECT LIFE? Let me tell you what you don't know. Daddies aren't compulsory. You don't need daddy."

"Daddy hits you but he loves you." Mia rolled her eyes and grabbed the intercom.

"Hello. Becca is on her way. Take her home and buy her ice-cream. I'll send the money." She hung up and pushed Becca out. Slamming the door behind her, hot tears rolled down her emerald eyes, down to her soft cheeks.

She was both a dad and mom to Becca, but she just wouldn't get it. But, she would help Becca get through. She won't remarry and not even Becca can stop her. Someone knocked.

"Come in." She went to her chair and rested and burst into fake laughter on seeing her friend, Reba.

"Hey Reba." she smiled.

"Dear Mia. I knew you would be stuck here with your freak laptop." She looked annoyed and Mia was ready for another scolding.

"What now?"

"YOU DIDN'T COME TO PENELOPE'S WEDDING!" Reba yelled and Mia's heart dropped.

"GOODNESS! Am sorry..." She apologized.

"Its good you didn't come. You would have watched her crying and tearing her wedding dress."

"Crying? TEARING WEDDING DRESS? What happened?" She wondered.

"The man eloped with some turkey named Candice." Reba rolled her eyes.

"Woah. That's horrible. I always warned her, men are heartless, but at the same time, love is actually blind."

"And deaf too." Reba chuckled.

"I feel sorry for her. I'll come visit her tomorrow. It will be a thorn in her heart forever."

"She has locked the heart. Just like her BFF." Reba mocked.

"If you don't lock your heart, men will continue breaking it."

"Thank Goodness she isn't single mom like you. The guy was so romantic with her, promising her the world, and they even had a passionate night two days ago. She told me she had seen Candice's contact on his phone saved as 'Sugar' And when she wanted to call, the guy stopped her and lied it was his sister. She even caught him telling that caller id that he was in love with her. He told the same lie."

"I despise men so much." Tears kept rolling from Mia's eyes as she remembered her own predicament. She signed and opened a file. She was fixed holding the pen and couldn't move. Reba stared at her feeling bad.
