Modern Family: I want Freedom

My name doesn't need to be known. I died as someone who didn't enjoy life. I missed everything. Luckily God gave me a second chance in another universe. In that universe I decided not to give a fu*k about the rules. I decided to do what I wanted to do and enjoy life. I was assisted in that as I got a system, which rewarded me with various character templates of people like Neil Caffrey, Sherlock Holmes, Lupin, and many others. Watch me live my life to the fullest as Ethan Alvarez. The main universe will probably be Modern Family with many other TV series or movies mixed in it like Brooklyn 99. You can recommend various movies or series and I will try to build them into the novel. The universe will not be supernatural. If you want it to be supernatural I can try to add it. You can not only choose the TV series or Movies but also recommend various templates for the MC. A little introduction about the MC is in the first chapter. (author here: I really overdid it at the beginning, but it will get better after the first 7 chapters(at least that is what I think and hope))

The Vulture

Today is the last week until my summer job ends. I am pretty sad. I love my Haley and miss Los Angeles. But New York also holds a special kind of feeling in me.

Walking into the elevator I saw Jake.

"Hey Jake. How is the murder case with the mayor's friend going?", I asked him curiously.

"I have almost everything. I only need to find the murder weapon. But I don't know where I could find it", Jake answered helplessly.

"You searched everywhere?", I asked him hoping I could help.

"Yes, I will be going to the scene today again", Jake answered.

"I wish you much luck then", I said as I patted him on the shoulder and approached the Captain's office.

"Hello Captain Holt. I heard from Gina that you wanted to talk with me", I was curious as to what the Captain needed.

"Yes. I indeed need your help. The Sarge needs to have a shooting test to determine whether he can participate in field service again. I will need your help in the shooting as you are the best shooter in the precinct", Captain Holt stated in his request.

"Of course. I will do my best to help", I replied with a smile.

"That is good. We will meet in the conference room in 15 minutes then", Captain Holt said while looking at his watch.

After that I walked out of the office, greeted everyone, and looked at some major cases which could be interesting.

I didn't find any and the 15 minutes passed very quickly.

I went into the conference room and sat down beside Amy.

Soon the Captain began to talk about the murder I talked about with Jake at the beginning. He wanted to know if Jake needed some help, but Jake declined. He only needed to find the murder weapon and the case would be only his contribution.

After that I walked toward Captain Holt's office.

Inside were already Terry and Gina as well as the Captain of course.

"You will be accompanying us Gina?", I was surprised I didn't know about that.

"Yes, I won't refuse any opportunity to be together with three handsome men", Gina replied while teasing everyone as always.

"Where do you want to test Terry's shooting skills Captain?", I asked as I didn't know many things about what the Captain wanted to do.

"We will drive to a private shooting range near the 103rd precinct", Captain Holt answered my question.

"Nervous Terry?", I asked him with a smile. He was shaking. I knew of his fear of danger since the birth of his twins.

"A little", Terry answered honestly.

"No need. Soon I won't be here anymore. You need to help the others in solving all the crimes", I said trying to help him relieve a little bit more.

It worked Terry wasn't shaking as strong anymore.

"Let us drive there", Captain Holt said.

This time I was being driven. Captain Holt drove us in his police car.

It took about half an hour and we arrived at the shooting range.

"What weapon do you want to choose Terry?", I asked Terry who stood a little bit behind me.

We were the only ones at the shooting range.

"I will take the Glock 19", Terry answered.

"Here is yours", I said giving him the weapon. I also took a Glock 19 to better help Terry.

If I use pistols, not my shotgun I usually use two Beretta 92FS Compact. They are pretty good to handle with one hand and still have considerable power.

"Try practicing shooting first Terry", Captain Holt recommended.

"I will try", Terry said.

He didn't hesitate for too long and wanted to shoot, but he couldn't.

"I can't", Terry said anxiously. He still feared going out to the field again. He wanted to be there for his daughters.

"You can Terry. Why don't you want to shoot? Due to Cagney and Lacey?"

"Yes. What if I die in a shooting? What is going to happen to them and Sharon? Who is going to take care of them?", Terry asked questions anxiously.

"You won't die, Terry. Look at you. You are a fucking living tank. And if you don't go out to solve cases what will Cagney and Lacey think? That their father is a coward? Not to mention that if you don't catch these damm criminals outside, what will happen in the future? Maybe they will harm innocent people—maybe even your kids or Sharon. SHOOT TERRY. DO IT FOR YOUR KIDS", I screamed the last part at Terry.

"FOR SHARON AND THE KIDS!!! AHHHHHH", Terry screamed while shooting.

"Good hits Terry", I praised him seeing the result. These results should help in his re-joining of field activities.

"Very good psychological work", the Captain praised me after I passed by him taking the two pistols back to their original place.

Suddenly Gina's phone rang.

She obviously talked with Jake. She said something about the vulture, a hairdryer, and a bike.

The Captain was near her and took over the phone after smelling something fishy.

He talked for a few seconds and then hung up.

"What happened?", Terry asked immediately.

"Jake and the others are drunk and wanted to burn down the vulture's bike, due to him taking away their case", Captain Holt said calmly.

"Did they do it?", Terry asked.

"No, they stopped", Captain Holt said.

"They shouldn't stop. What did you say to them?", I asked Captain Holt. I knew the others would never give up this fast.

"They should solve the Case before the Vulture can come in the future", Captain Holt answered a little confused.

"These bastards will solve the crime themselves", I shouted.

"Oh, shit", Terry said.

"I will drive to the murderer's apartment quickly. If I remember right, there is a motorcycle shop nearby. I will take one there and drive through most of the traffic", I said as I ran out.

I quickly ran to the motorcycle shop and saw the new BMW S1000RR.

I took out my card and bought the motorcycle for 17,500$. The shop assistant was stunned but had nothing to say.

I took the motorcycle and immediately drove through the streets. If the others are caught being there they might get fired.

I sped up and drove through the spaces between the cars. It was a very nice feeling. The motorcycle also looked very good in the classical BMW colors.

It took only 7 minutes to arrive.

I immediately went up to the apartment where the murderer was.

Soon after I heard Jake and the others.

I started running but saw police officers coming from behind.

"Stop. I am taking over", I said and showed them my police mark. I was their superior as I was similar to a detective. If it was Jake showing his mark they wouldn't need to listen to him as he is only a detective of the 99th precinct. I am a "detective" of the whole NYPD.

"What are you guys doing?", I asked them while walking towards them.

"I found it", someone screamed. I didn't know who.

"We found the murder weapon", Jake said excitedly.

I talked with them and brought them back to the precinct. They got in trouble with Captain Holt.

But they still showed the murder weapon to the lawyer and got the credit for it.

Everything ended with that.

It was my last week here.

I would be gone by the next week.

I am sorry if some things arent good in this chapter. I am currently sick and quickly wrote this chatper
