The Life Crystal, also called the Heart crystal.

Gathered with the shed blood of hundreds, this crystal is a rare product of life force that only forms deep underground in the form of heart made of red crystals that glowed in the dark.

The way to use it was to break it near a living person, and the life force that was trapped within the life crystal would than flow to the nearest person as the life force enhanced their body and blood.

If there was no one nearby, or the person who used the Life Crystals had already gotten the maximum amount of benefits from the life crystal that they could.

Than the Life crystal having found no hosts for it's powers would just reform back into it's crystalized form.

The downside of the Heart crystal was that the person who used it would be than subject to various fragmented visions of places where that blood was shed from before fully gaining the power of the Heart Crystal.

That power in the Heart Crystal was an increased vitality at the minimum was 20% of your previous vitality.

And in layman's terms you were basically 20% stronger than before, unless you were a mage that only used mana.

In that case the magic counterpart of the Life Crystal was the Mana Crystal.

Which took the form of a star and was more common than the Life Crystal, as through strange means, five stars could be used to condense the Mana crystal.

It was also infinitely more pleasant than the life crystal.

The Vine Rune.

Needs plants or seeds nearby for it to work properly.

Through assimilating the rune by crushing it inside their palms, any second similar runes reinforcing the power.

The image of entangled vines would be engraved painfully on the palms, providing the medium for the power to work through.

The Vine Rune allows for the control and manipulation of plants on a foundational level.

The most basic use of the Vine rune being the acceleration of plant growth, which was most used by the Kingdom of Malaise to create towering green walls that filled the cracks of the stone walls.

Walking out of the library and noticing now that the sun was fully up, the people of Tinell now starting to wake up as life seemed to have been breathed into the city,

I ignored how I basically ignored my need for sleep and hurried on the paved cobblestone streets, breathing in the fresh morning air as I did so.

Bandaged feet slapping on the pavement, my legs carried me forwards as my heart beat quickly.

Hard not to when you were about to do something beneficial and pleasing for you, which you were looking forwards to very quickly after all.

Unable to keep the grin off my face, I was pretty sure that I looked rather insane to the waking passerby.

But I didn't care.

But taking into account that using the Life Crystal and the Vine rune would create a small commotion and that it wasn't suitable to be tested in the middle of the city.

I opted to go outside this early in the morning.

And while I was doing so, I could go test out my new found combat prowess and the new weapons I 'borrowed' from the strange shadowy figure.

'I feel like I am forgetting something though'

"Hey!"

Tied up inside a small room surrounded by stone and connected to a pillar, the woman who used to have the Ice shards struggled within her bindings.

"Hello!? You forgot me Wolf Man!?"

"Wolf Man!?"

Struggling inside the ruined auction house which was now sectioned off so that the mages who were going to arrive soon could inspect the area.

The woman wouldn't be discovered for some time a few days later.

---

'Eh, If I forgot, it's probably not that important' Shrugging my shoulders and throwing the nagging thought of what I forgot to the back of my mind.

I showed my silver emblem of the adventurer's guilds sigil to the guards at one of the four gates and was granted access to the outside world.

Stepping outside onto the outside world where nature prevailed for the first time in a week.

I grinned as I saw the familiar monsters I had met once I had arrived in the incredibly deep cave system.

Slimes.

Throwing some ice shards at the large heavy yet squishy slime balls and freezing them underneath the ice.

I felt a few gazes looking my way but ignored them as I harvested the slime gel and went to the destination far away from the city.

'I want to increase my strength after all.'

Looking at the forest in the distance, I started off at a light jog, running as fast as my legs could take me.

Manifesting a sword that split a jumping slime in half, I enjoyed the cool breeze hitting my face as I ran towards the forest to begin using both consumable items.

'But before that...'

Sensing the incredibly unhappy gazes on my back that were most likely hostile.

Absolutely no idea when I could understand hostile intent towards me.

I thought about how to deal with them while keeping them alive.

The Woman of the trees hid amongst the leaves, poking her head out of the bark as she stared at the place where the corpse of the evil being once was before it dissipated into it's natural form of mana.

Staring at the small crater where the corpse once was.

Her head suddenly snapped to the left as she looked to the side and sensed someone through the plants.

Of course this was a usual thing as she was near a city, and people were usually sensed through the plants.

Even now, she sensed the people walking near the plants and doing all sorts of actions to them.

But this person was different.

Sensing the strangeness almost instinctively, the strange... almost human being ran towards the forest while carrying nothing but the clothes on their back, a pouch of nothing and a sword that cut through slime.

The woman furrowed her brows and sensed the strangeness before she sunk back into the bark.

Sliding through the earth through the plants, the only Dryad left in the world traveled to meet the anomaly emulating human flesh.

Entering a small cobble stone house I created incredibly quickly, while sticking out like a sore thumb.

The box like house was ten meters in length and width, the height being four tall.

Not that the pursuers on horseback cared much as they soon entered the house right after me.

Screams of terror and pain soon rang out from inside the makeshift house.

A figure covered in a bloody cloak quickly ran out of the small cobble stone house while stumbling on the ground.

Before being getting hit with an electric whip that struck them on the back and sent them tumbling to the ground.

With an electric whip wrapped around their leg, the cloaked figure screamed in terror as they were dragged against their will into the cobblestone hut.

"NOOOO!!!!"

Uncaring of the state of their fingers, visible claw marks were made on the ground as they were dragged into the house.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

That morning.

Rumors spread by the Lumberjacks spread across the city of ghosts screaming of death were in the forest.
