*BOOM!*
*Energy surging through Oki's body*
"AARGGHH!!!" Oki was experiencing so much pain that it would have already broken anyone's mind.
A wormhole forms in front of Oki, and he was sucked slowly into it.
Oki's eyes went dark as he was knocked out by the events.
*Unknown amount of time passes*
Oki woke up in a dark room that had a light in the middle.
Oki stood up and walked towards the light, and he could see a figure in purple and white robes.
"Hello!" Oki called out as he walked forward. "Where am I? Do you know what this place is?"
Oki got no response and was behind the figure. "Hello!" Oki tapped the figure's shoulders, and the figure turned towards Oki at incredible speeds. Oki couldn't react and took Oki's hand, pinned him down and locking his joints.
"You heathen, you dare touch me! Yo-" A soft, beautiful, and yet power-filled voice was all Oki could hear as he was looking at the floor.
"A human? How did you come in here?" The lady asked, freeing Oki.
Oki stood up and turned towards the voice to see a beautiful woman with charoite coloured hair, the same as his.
"Um..."
"How are you even here? How is it possible that you could meet with my soul?"
"..."
"Hello?" The woman asks, waving her hands.
"Um... May I know where here is?" Oki asked, scratching his cheeks, "Also, what do you mean by your soul?"
*Sigh* The woman sighed and interlocked her arms, showing her bosoms which Oki was trying to resist not to look at. "I am named as Equirrion Merlin... well, in the first world."
"First world?" Oki asked curiously, looking at the woman named Merlin.
"Yes, well, that is the world I remember before reincarnated by the grace of the Gods into another world." Merlin sounded depressed, and also her voice indicated hate and betrayal.
"Ms Merlin, may I know what you were in the first world?"
"I was a Grand Sage," Merlin said, puffing her chest. "A hero, an adviser to the king Einsofs, The one who killed the demon lord and..." Merlin's face was suddenly filled with fear, and it was as if she had trauma.
"Ms Merlin!" Oki caught Merlin's shoulders and shook her vigorously.
Merlin snapped out of it and was looking at Oki.
"I am sorry there, young one." Merlin took a deep breath. "I have no idea for how long I have been here as I... I mean the second life me split souls."
Oki listened carefully and also looking at Merlin, who seemed to remember her past times.
"Would you care to listen to my story?" Merlin asked, turning towards Oki. "It has been a long time since I have met someone." Merlin sounded a bit happy and also hateful.
"I am not sure you want me to hear that." Oki said, crossing his hands, "Also, I don't know where I am and to escape from this place."
"Well, don't worry," Merlin said, shaking her head. "I just want to share my story with someone and relieve the pain in my chest a little." Merlin sighed, "Also, your soul will soon disappear and go back to where it was supposed to."
"My soul?" Oki asked, touching his shoulders. "I-"
"Yes, and I can feel that it is slowly connecting to your body." Merlin walked forward and touched Oki's chest, and Oki could see a thin golden thread. "That is the soul's chain, the one that holds the body and soul."
'It's so thin!' Oki looked at his soul's chain.
"So, will you hear it," Merlin asked Oki.
"If that helps, yeah, sure," Oki said, sitting down. "Besides, since you have experienced two lives, I could gain some wisdom."
Merlin smiled at those words and sat down.
"Am I wrong?" Oki asked.
"Nope." Merlin shook her head.
"Well, where shall I start..." Merlin tapped her lips, and then after few seconds, Oki saw a bright face in Merlin's face. "This should do."
Merlin lifted her right hand and didn't move for few seconds.
'What is that?' Oki could feel some energy being gathered at Merlin's hands.
"Oh my, sorry, I forgot you aren't a mage," Merlin said, sweat dropping. "Here."
Merlin took Oki's hand, and Oki could see something like what he could describe as a transmutation circle.
Flowers started arising from the black plane ground, and soon he could see beautiful scenery.
"The First world I come from was called Astrea. It was a beautiful world filled with mana and vitality." Merlin said, stretching her hand forward as a beautiful small bird sat on her hand. "I was born in the Equirrion household, a household of mages and also filled with mage nobles."
"I was the youngest of my generation and also born to Duke Equirrion and a maid." Merlin shook her head and smiled as soon as a big beautiful and ancient Castel came into his view and a woman in a white dress with chaoite hair and a man with black hair and fierce violet eyes.
"So, I was an outcast in the household. Everyone hated me, including my mother and also my father." Soon many people arguing and yelling at the woman in charoite hair came into Oki's view.
"My mom was beautiful... inside and out," Merlin said nostalgically. "She raised me even though she hated me, with the best care she could give me, and soon I learned that she didn't hate me for being born, but hated me for others calling her and me different things."
"I understood things of my household very soon, and I didn't like it in the least." Oki saw Young Merlin being hated by others and also treated like trash. "But, I couldn't do anything. Well, I was powerless."
"Until..." A scenery of a clear glass ball and kids landing in line waiting for their turn came into view.
"My household wanted to test the talent for the magic of the kids who reached 6 years, and I was 5 at that time, and magic tests were only conducted once every 5 years, and no one allowed me to participate in it." The images stopped, and a man stood in front of Merlin.
Scenes of elderly yelling at Merlin and slowly Oki could see that things were changing, and it felt as if instead of seeing the images now, he was in memories of Merlin.
"A lowlife like you won't have any talent for magecraft!" A bearded man yelled.
"Also, you are 5, according to the Ingiuses star, if I am right." A man in a blue cloak said. "Why don't we give her a try?" The man said, looking at the elders behind him. "I mean, come on, everyone. She is a child of 5 years, and weren't you excited to do this when you were kids?"
The man said with open arms.
"Uncle Ra! A waste like her is just born to be a maid serving the household." A kid of age 10 said.
"Merlin!" The man named Ra called out, not listening to others headings. "Come over here and keep your hands on the ball."
Merlin slowly walked forward, and she was scared of everyone. And she could feel the abnormal gazes, and even her father walked out of the room.
"Come on, young Merlin." Ra caught Merlin's hands and helped her. "Place it on the ball and close your eyes."
Merlin did as she was told.
Soon Merlin saw many different lights in the darkness.
"Now, do you see anything shiny?" Ra asked
Merlin nodded.
"That's good." This made many elders and people of the family annoyed.
"Now, try to call them and try to gather them into a clump," Ra said with a gentle voice.
Merlin soon focused her thoughts and gathering the lights.
-> For everyone in the room-
The crystal ball started glowing brightly, and it didn't even stop after a second like the kids who just did, and it increased in brightness.
Only one thought came into everyone's mind.
'Impossible'
-> Back to Merlin-
Merlin saw more and more lights after a few were gathered, and she even gathered them all.
-> For everyone in the room-
All the mages in the room felt mana being dragged calmly towards the crystal ball, and Ra was blinded by the light.
*Crack* Ra heard the crystal ball cracking. 'Impossible the core of the Phoenix is cracking!'
*BOOM!*
Merlin and Ra crashed into the crowd as the crystal broke.
Everyone started to gather around Merlin and Ra.
"Hurry UP!" An elderly ran towards Merlin, and a yellow transmuted circle emerged out of his hands. "Hyper Heal!" The elderly yelled as mana gathered around Merlin and healed her.
"That's impossible!" A teen strode forward out of the crowd. "She must have done something! There is no way in Astrea that someone can gather mana like what she did... I mean, the phoenix core must have been broken."
"It is indeed broken." An Elder strode forward, "Not before the test but after her test."
