Chapter 1Quirk activation

"Go ahead, try using your Quirk. Just trust your instincts—there's nothing to be scared of."

The doctor's voice was gentle, warm, like he'd said this a hundred times. He gave the four-year-old boy a reassuring smile through the glass wall of the Quirk testing chamber.

Inside, the boy stood still, clearly unsure. His gray eyes flicked toward the observation window, searching for something—someone.

"I don't think I can," he said quietly. "I think… I need to touch someone first."

He turned slightly, eyes landing on his parents watching from behind the glass. His dad stepped forward instinctively, looking at the doctor, who gave him a quick nod.

"He's calm," the doctor said. "Should be fine."

_Slide—_

The door opened with a soft hiss. Mr. Monoma stepped inside and knelt in front of his son, brushing a hand through the boy's blond hair.

"Give it a shot, champ. I'm right here."

Neito gave a small smile and reached for his father's hand.

They held it for just a second—then let go.

Nothing happened.

"…So… what just happened?" Neito's mom asked nervously, her voice coming through the intercom.

She wasn't angry. She was worried. Deep down, terrified. The idea of her son being Quirkless—it wasn't something she could accept.

"Hmm. Nothing visible, but let's not jump to conclusions," the doctor replied calmly. "Mrs. Monoma, there's no need to worry just yet."

He turned back to Neito. "You've made contact. Now try again. Just do what feels right."

Neito nodded, face unusually serious for a kid his age. Then he opened his mouth—

"I think I can do this," he said.

But it wasn't his voice.

It was his mother's.

Everyone froze. Then Mr. Monoma laughed in surprise, pride lighting up his face.

"He copied her voice! That's my Quirk!" he said, turning to the doctor. "I can mimic how people talk and act after hearing them for a bit."

He grinned and looked at the doctor, then casually repeated his own words—this time _perfectly_ in the doctor's voice.

Neito's mom let out a huge breath of relief, her shoulders relaxing at last. But before she could say anything, the doctor stepped in again.

"That may be part of it," he said. "But your son needed to _touch_ you for it to happen. That's different from your ability, Mr. Monoma."

He turned to Mrs. Monoma. "Would you mind going in?"

She didn't hesitate. A moment later, she was kneeling in front of Neito, touching his arm gently.

"What do you feel now?" the doctor asked, watching closely.

Neito paused, then gave a quiet reply.

"I think I can do this too."

His hair started to lift off his head, floating gently in the air.

Mrs. Monoma's eyes widened with joy.

"That's _my_ Quirk," she whispered, her smile stretching from ear to ear. "Body Shaper."

The doctor gave a thoughtful nod. "So it's not just vocal mimicry. He's copying _Quirks_. Interesting."

Neito stayed quiet, just watching them all with calm eyes. He already knew this. He'd known from the moment he'd been reborn as Neito Monoma.

---

An hour passed. The doctor ran more tests, taking notes, testing limits. Neito went along with it all, not making a fuss. There was no reason to hide anything—not yet.

When it was finally over, the Monomas got in the car and started the drive home. Mrs. Monoma was already on the phone, practically glowing with pride.

"Yes! The doctor called it the Copy Quirk. He said it's like a blend of mine and my husband's abilities. Neito's so happy!"

In the back seat, Neito stared out the window, one hand playing with a loose strand of his mom's hair.

He wasn't bored.

He was testing something.

'In the original story, Neito could copy a Quirk by holding someone's hair. Looks like I can do that too. So it's not a learned thing—it's built into the Quirk.'

It might've seemed like a small detail to anyone else, but to Neito, it was huge. A stray hair? Easy to hold onto. That meant...

'I'll always have a Quirk ready to go. Even after the copied one wears off. That fixes my biggest problem right away.'

Without a quirk to copy, the orginal Neito was essentially quirkless, but he had no such problem. Now it was all about training. Controlling copy and pushing it further.

Ever since he was reborn as Neito Monoma, he'd been planning this. This Quirk had crazy potential. If he could figure out how to get rid of the time limit, he'd be stronger than All For One.

'All For One has to steal Quirks and deal with their burden. Me? When I copy a Quirk, it's mine. Clean. No ghosts.'

He wasn't worried if this was possible to do. As someone else had done something similar before—Himiko Toga.

'She unlocked her Quirk and started using the powers of the people she copied, no limits. She didn't just look like them—she became them.'

Toga's success proved it was possible to push a copy type Quirk beyond its normal limits. Neito couldn't copy appearances like her, but powers? That was his specialty.

He'd awaken too. Eventually. But for now, he was just a four-year-old kid.

"Dad, can we eat out tonight?"

His dad looked at him in the rearview mirror, grinning.

"Of course, champ. You earned it."

Neito smiled and leaned back, finally relaxing. He didn't need to rush. Everything was already in motion.

Tomorrow, the real work would start. But today? He just wanted fries.

Meaningful growth. The MC is a normal guy dumped into the Narutoverse, starts out weak and has to work and struggle for everything he gains. - "Slow" paced. My writing style is a zoomed-in look camera that follows the protagonist. It might seem slow, but I ensure something is always happening to progress the plot forward. - Gritty and often bloody fights and actions scenes with a focus on taijutsu—you'll see individual combat, team fights, and large-scale battle. - A different take on the Narutoverse.
