Chapter 5: Entrance Ceremony

(The next day, Sunday)

Waking up at 6:00 AM, Maxwell yawned and started rubbing his eyes. After a few more minutes of sitting down, Maxwell got out of his bed and then walked outside his house toward the area in the forest where he practices his earthbending. Arriving at a place without trees, Maxwell started to stretch to warm up his body before exercising. After stretching, he began to do his daily physical training. Finally finishing his physical training after half an hour, Maxwell started to practice his firebending.

That's right; Maxwell unlocked firebending. After finishing the exams a week ago, Maxwell didn't laze around and started to unlock all his bending forms. Unfortunately, he was only able to unlock waterbending and firebending. Spending most of his days practicing those two and only spending some time on earthbending, Maxwell achieved a decent mastery of both of them.

(3 hours later)

After practicing his firebending and resting a lot, Maxwell finally finished his firebending training for today. While sitting down, Maxwell started to think.

'Should I train more tomorrow? I didn't train that hard today because of the opening ceremony at 3:00 pm. So that means I only have five hours of practice left since the walk to UA is an hour long. I will rest for thirty minutes and then practice waterbending. After practicing waterbending, I should try to unlock airbending for thirty minutes and then use the remaining time to prepare myself. Fucking airbending, why is unlocking it hard?'

*Author note: Aang may have unlocked earthbending on his first training day, but MC will not. He will unlock it within one month, so don't worry(I won't spoil when) if you complain about me nerfing MC. You are a ligma(ask me what's ligma in case you don't know). At least it doesn't take years to unlock, so don't complain*

After resting for half an hour, Maxwell stood up and started to walk toward the lake in the forest to train.

Walking toward U.A after training, Maxwell started to think about his progress.

'I achieved good results in my training. By my estimate, firebending and waterbending will achieve the same level as earthbending at the entrance exam in only half the time. So that means I will achieve decent mastery on both of them in only three months. I should thank my stamina since I can practice more and make big moves, unlike earthbending, where I had to build my stamina step by step to achieve decent mastery.'

Lost in his thoughts, Maxwell didn't notice a person coming toward him.

"Hey, you!!"

Hearing someone's voice, Maxwell was broken out of his thoughts and looked toward the source of his voice. Seeing a young man of average height with a rather muscular physique, red hair, and eyes, Maxwell immediately recognized him and started to act the personality he will use his entire time at U.A.

"Yes? Can I help you?"

Arriving near Maxwell, the young man shook his head and said.

"No, I don't need help. I found out you are also going to U.A high. So I wanted to become your friend."

"Do you really want to be my friend, or are you too nervous about going to U.A by yourself." Maxwell said with a teasing tone making Kirishima blush in embarrassment. (This no yaoi)

"Yeah, I guess I am nervous to go by myself to U.A, so having you with me will make me feel better. Are you offended?"

"Not really. I'm also nervous, to be honest. So having a friend at school will be better. I'm Maxwell Zandaka. How about you."

"I'm Eijiro Kirishima. You can call me Eijiro. Nice to meet you, Zandaka."

"You can also call me by my first name if you want."

"Okay then, I will call you Maxwell. By the way, are you a foreigner? Your name is unique and sounds manly."

"Pfff, manly? It's the first time someone called my name manly. And yes, I'm a foreigner."

"Really? That's cool. I don't have anyone close to me who comes from a different country. What country are you from?"

"I'm from the Philippines.". Kirishima had a disappointed expression on his face. Seeing his expression, Maxwell continued. "You won't probably know this country since it isn't as famous as America and Italy."

Listening to Maxwell, Kirishima nodded his head, embarrassed at being disappointed since he expected him to come from a famous country.

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine. No offense taken."

"So you're from the Philippines. Is everyone in your country as short as you?"

"I'M NOT SHORT! I HAVE AN AVERAGE HEIGHT!!!!"

Hearing Maxwell's outburst, Kirishima had a dumbfounded expression on his face. But afterward, he started laughing very hard while walking.

"WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING!?"

"haha! Sorry, it's just surprising you are so insecure about being short. Don't worry. You can still be manly even though you are short."

"YOU!!! I'M SURE YOU'RE PURPOSELY REPEATING THE WORD SHORT!!!"

"Pfffff, okay-okay, I'm wrong. You have an average height."

"It's good you know." Maxwell nodded his head.

Not knowing what to say anymore, Kirishima and Maxwell continued to walk toward U.A in an awkward atmosphere. A few minutes later, Kirishima asked.

"By the way, are the arrows on your head and body part of your quirk?"

"No, they are not. They are for religious purposes."

"So you practice Buddhism?"

"No, I practice Tibetan Buddhism."

"Isn't that the same as Buddhism?"

"It's Buddhism but not the one you're thinking of. There are different Buddhism forms. The one you're probably thinking about is Zen Buddhism, which is part of Japanese religion."

"So what's the difference between them? I don't know a lot about religion stuff."

"Zen Buddhism is a minimalist way of Buddhism that means leading a simple life whereas Tibetan Buddhism is more of an elaborate Buddhism."

"Okay, I don't understand at all. The most important question I have is if you can eat meat."

"I can't eat meat."

"Man, you are missing out on some good food. Katsudon, Tonkatsu, Meat skewers..."

Listening to Kirishima list out delicious food with meat, Maxwell decided to secretly eat those in the future if he had money and time.

"Are you done?"

"Yeah, sorry for rambling."

"It's okay. So I guess you like eating meat?"

"Like? I love eating meat."

"Why?"

"It's delicious and gives me manly muscles."

"What's with your obsession with manliness. Are you into boys?" Maxwell asked with a nervous expression and then started to create some distance from him. Seeing Maxwell move away from him and show a worried expression, Kirishima hastily shook his head.

"I'M NOT INTO BOYS! I LIKE GIRLS!". When Kirishima shouted that, the people around him started to give him strange looks. Feeling slightly embarrassed, Kirishima looked toward Maxwell only to see him grinning.

"That was not manly at all."

"Pfff, like I care about being manly. I only care about getting you back for calling me short."

"I already said I'm wrong."

"I know, but you called me short before, so I don't care."

Hearing Maxwell's retort, Kirishima had a dumbfounded expression on his face and then started to laugh as they continued to walk toward U.A in a relaxed atmosphere. While walking, Maxwell thought.

'That was awesome me! I give myself five stars for not making the conversation that awkward. And I also gotta say my acting is awesome. I guess I have decent communication skills.'

Ending his thoughts there, Maxwell and Kirishima continued talking about trivial things such as their quirks, hobbies, favorite hero, hottest celebrities, etc.

Arriving near U.A, Maxwell and Kirishima were talking with each other until a person interrupted them.

"Yahoo!!! Nice to meet you. My name is Mina Ashido. I'm also going toward U.A, so can we walk there together?"

Looking behind him, Maxwell saw a girl of medium height with light pink skin and eyes with black sclera and yellow irises. But before he could show any reaction, Kirishima turned around and shouted.

"Ashido-san! I didn't expect to see you on our way to U.A!"

"EHH!!!!! IS THAT YOU KIRISHIMA?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR HEAD!?!?"

Hearing Mina shout, Kirishima was about to reply but got interrupted by Mina.

"I didn't recognize you at first! Is this your debut for high school?! You've got horns now! We're horn buddies now!"

"Don't touch my hair, you'll mess them up!"

After saying that, Kirishima showed a determined expression and said with determination.

"I WILL NEVER REGRET MY INACTION EVER AGAIN! I'M GONNA BE A HERO WHO CAN PROTECT PEOPLE!"

Just when Kirishima was about to continue, Maxwell coughed and asked with an unsure tone.

"Is it okay for me to be here? It sounds like you are about to say something important."

Hearing another voice, Mina was stunned and remembered there was another person walking with Kirishima a while ago. Bowing toward him with clapped hands, Mina shouted.

"I'm sorry for forgetting about you. I was just surprised at Kirishima's transformation. So what's your name?"

"I'm Maxwell Zandaka. And yes, I'm a foreigner. And no, I didn't come from America or other famous countries."

Hearing Maxwell's introduction, Mina was weirded out by how he introduced himself but figured it out after seeing Maxwell look toward Kirishima with his tongue out.

"Come on man, I already said I'm sorry for being disappointed."

"And I've already said no offense taken. So how do you know about Eijiro, Ashido-san?"

"You can call me Mina if you want, I knew Kirishima from middle school. And did you know his hair was actually black before?!"

"Ughhh, don't bring that up Ashido. I dyed my hair to say goodbye to my pathetic old self!"

After saying that with an embarrassed expression on his face, Kirishima turned around and continued to walk toward U.A. Hearing Kirishima, Maxwell and Mina looked at Kirishima with scrutinizing look.

"Kirishima, you were really beating yourself over that whole thing, huh? Just don't overload yourself with pressure."

"I don't know why you want to say goodbye to your old self, but if you need someone to talk to, You can always talk to me. Even though we have only been friends for less than an hour, I want to help you to the best of my abilities.

"Ashido, Maxwell." said Kirishima with a touched tone while looking back.

"Thanks, guys!" after shouting, Kirishima had some tears in his eyes. Wiping the tears away, Kirishima said.

"Tears aren't manly at all."

After Kirishima said that, Maxwell and Mina laughed and the three of them continued to walk toward U.A while talking and laughing sometimes making everyone around them think of them as close friends.

*Author Note: You may be thinking that the MC got close to them too fast, but Kirishima and Mina are outgoing and friendly people so it isn't that hard to believe. So people like Todoroki, Bakugo, etc will be hard to befriend unless MC does something special like making Todoroki use his fire side. And please tell me if the conversations are okay, I'm not really good at conversations myself.*

Looking at the door in front of him, Maxwell shook his head at the enormous size.

"That door is massive. I'm feeling nervous all of a sudden." said Kirishima beside him.

"So huge!!" shouted Mina.

"Let's go." Maxwell said to both of them, making them nod their head and open the door.

Arriving inside, Maxwell was greeted by the sight of Iida rushing toward him. Before Maxwell could say anything, Iida spoke first.

"Hello, fellow classmates. I'm Iida Tenya from Soumei Junior High School. Nice to meet you."

"Nice muscles Iida. I'm Eijiro Kirishima. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Mina Ashido. You can call me Mina! Nice to meet you, Iida!"

"I'm Maxwell Zandaka. I hope we can get along in the future."

Hearing Maxwell's introduction, Iida nodded his head and started to think.

'He isn't mentioning the incident at the Entrance Exam, so he probably forgives me now. As expected of a hero school, the students here are incredible.'

Ending his thoughts there, Iida talked to them for a few more minutes and left. Seeing Iida leave, Maxwell and the others split up and walked toward their seats.

While walking toward seat number twenty, Maxwell looked around the classroom to find Haruto. Looking at seat number eighteen, Maxwell finally met Haruto for the first time. With a muscular physique that doesn't lose against Iida, a tall height of 186cm, black eyes, and short black hair combed nicely. Looking at the girls, Maxwell could see all of them except Momo glancing in Haruto's direction from time to time.

Ignoring Haruto for now, Maxwell walked toward his seat. Sitting down, Maxwell looked at the person in front of him. An hourglass figure, long black hair tied into a spiky ponytail, and thin dark eyes.

Looking at Momo, Maxwell thought that Haruto and Momo seemed so similar to each other.

"Hello, I'm Maxwell Zandaka. How about you?"

"I'm Momo Yaoyorozu, nice to meet you Zandaka-san. Are you from another country?"

"Yeah, I'm from the Philippines."

"I went there for vacation once. The food there was delicious."

Hearing Momo's words, Maxwell showed a surprised expression. Seeing Maxwell's surprised face, Momo felt confused and asked.

"Why do you look surprised?"

"Well, it isn't common for someone to recognize my country."

"Really? Isn't it easy to recognize any country if you look at maps and read books about it?"

"Your right, but not everyone looks at maps and reads books these days, unlike you."

"My brother also likes to read books."

"Brother? Is it the person in front of you? You guys look very similar."

"Yes, he's my older twin brother. His name is Haruto Yaoyorozu." Momo said with a proud expression.

"You look very proud of your brother."

"Is it that obvious?" asked Momo while scratching the back of her head.

"It is." Maxwell nodded his head.

"Well, he always beat me in combat and helped me improve my quirk. So I respect him a lot."

'That expression when she said she respected him looked weird.' Maxwell thought.

Ending his thoughts there, Maxwell and Momo continued talking to each other about topics such as his country's hero system, hobbies, etc.

But even though Maxwell looks normal chatting with Momo, deep down, Maxwell feels extremely uncomfortable with her. In fact, he feels uncomfortable with all of his classmates, with Momo being the most uncomfortable for him.

Being alone at his house, Maxwell had so much time to think. At first, he felt guilty toward his classmates since he would be deceiving them so he could kill Haruto. But afterward, he buried those feelings deep in his heart since he knew those feelings would only hinder him.

But seeing the warm and friendly gaze of Momo, Kirishima, Izuku, Uraraka, and Mina. The guilt Maxwell buried deep in his heart surfaces again. So whenever he has a conversation with his classmate, his guilt always makes him uncomfortable inside.

Fortunately, Maxwell practiced a lot on his facial expressions, so it doesn't show. And even though he doesn't want to talk to his classmates since he doesn't want to feel uncomfortable, he knows interacting with everyone is vital to his plan. So he ignored his feelings of discomfort to succeed in killing Haruto.

While talking with Momo, Maxwell suddenly heard a loud shout. Looking toward the noise, he saw Bakugou and Iida shouting at each other.

(Haruto P.O.V)

"Don't put your legs on the desk! Don't you think that's disrespectful towards your classmates!?"

"No, as a matter of fact, I don't think so. Which middle school are you from anyway, you two-bit extra."

Seeing Bakugo and Iida argue, I sigh in relief. At least the plot didn't change too drastically. Well, even if the plot changes, it doesn't matter since my strength will easily overcome the challenges. Good thing I trained since five years old in case this happens. Looking behind me, I see Momo talking to Maxwell. Seeing Maxwell's appearance, I'm pretty sure he's also a reincarnator. After all, he looks exactly like Aang from Avatar. Did he wish for the appearance and powers of Aang, or did he spin a character wheel and become Aang as a result.

I should confirm my theory first. I'm going to ask him if he's a reincarnator and see if he shows any abnormal reaction. I wanted to think of a better plan but creating complex plans isn't my strong suit.

If he attacks me when I ask, I will knock him out quickly since I'm stronger than him with my Hanma bloodline, Whitebeard's fruit, and combat experience from sparring with Sora-sensei. I hope he at least gives me a good fight. Ugh, the Hanma bloodline is influencing me again.

*Sora is an OC. The Yaoyorozu family hired him when Haruto was 5 to learn martial arts.*

Looking at Maxwell for a few more seconds, I looked at the front again. It doesn't matter if Maxwell is a reincarnator or not as long as he doesn't hurt any of my loved ones. If he does, I will make sure he regrets it.

Seeing Haruto look forward again, Maxwell inwardly sighed in relief.

'That was nerve recking. Why did Haruto silently watch me for a few minutes while talking with Momo? Is it because of Momo? Not likely. It's probably because of my looks. If he is also an anime fan like me, he probably knows Avatar: The Last Air Bender. So he probably suspects me as a reincarnator. I hope that's the case since I thought of a way to remove his suspicions about me.'

When Maxwell finished thinking about what happened a while ago, Momo spoke to him again.

"Are you done thinking now, Zandaka-san?"

"Yes, I'm done Yaoyorozu-san. Sorry for ignoring you just now."

"It's okay. I can see you were thinking about something important."

"What did we last talk about again?"

"We were talking about the arrows on your body. I read about different religions when I was young since I was curious before, but I never heard of arrow tattoos in Tibetan Buddhism."

"The arrow tattoos on my body are t-"

"This is the department.....of heroics!!!!!" a man suddenly shouted, interrupting Maxwell. Looking toward the noise, Momo and Maxwell found a man in a sleeping bag. Seeing the man, everyone except Haruto and Maxwell had one question in their head.

'Who is that guy?'

Seeing nobody talking, Aizawa went out of his speaking bag and started speaking with a tired tone.

"Hmm, it took you lot eight seconds to quiet down. Life is short, kids. You're all lacking in common sense."

"So he must be a pro hero, too, huh?" Izuku said.

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shouta. Pleasure meeting you."

After saying that, Aizawa reached into his sleeping bag and took out the gym clothes for U.A high school.

"Wear these immediately. And then shove off to the P.E ground."

After explaining, Aizawa walked through the door and left the students behind in the room.

"Hey, Yaoyorozu-san."

"Yes Zandaka-san?"

"Do you think the gym clothes are clean since they came from Aizawa-sensei's sleeping bag"

"Of course, it's clean. This is U.A, a prestigious hero school. They would make sure to keep it clean for the students." Even though Momo said that, one could see an uncertain expression on her face.

(Boy's locker room)

While Maxwell was changing his clothes, he heard some people near him shout in surprise. Looking in the direction of their gazes, he saw Haruto's body. After seeing the very compact muscles and imposing demon back, Maxwell discovered the reason for their surprised expression.

"Those muscles are so manly! What's your workout routine?" Kirishima asked excitedly while doing manly poses after breaking out of his surprise.

"How did you get those muscles, man? They look so cool, especially your back muscles. It looks like a demon." asked a yellow hair young man.

"Hehehe, if I had muscles as good as those, all the girls in the world would love me." Said a midget with purple balls as hair. While saying so, he had a very vulgar expression making the people around him move away.

"It's from working out daily for ten years. I worked very hard for these." replied Haruto with a neutral tone, but one can hear his pride in his muscles. Hearing Haruto's reply, almost all the boys were surprised.

"You started working out at five years old!?" Kirishima shouted.

"That's so young. I was watching cartoons at that age!" the yellow-haired man shouted alongside Kirishima.

After he shouted, the three continued talking while changing their clothes. Sometimes, Maxwell and other male students joined the conversation.

"So, who do you think is the hottest girl in class? I think it's Tsuyu Asui" The midget with purple balls as hair who introduced himself as Minoru Mineta asked with a lewd expression.

While the rest of the boys were too shy to answer, the yellow-haired boy who introduced himself as Denki Kaminari also showed a lewd expression like Mineta and then started to speak.

"Tsuyu Asui? Why?"

"Didn't you see her tongue? Don't forget that massive ass and breasts."

"Hehehe, your right. I think Momo Yaoyorozu is the hottest. That perfect figure and the Ojou-Sama vibes are the best. She also looks innocent and sweet."

"What did you say about my sister?" Haruto asked with a sweet smile, but everybody in the room knew Haruto was pissed off.

"N-nothing, Haruto. I meant to say your sister looks a lot like you.". Clearly not believing it, Haruto raised his hand and formed it into a fist, making Kaminari, who had finished changing his clothes, run outside.

"Don't worry, Kaminari. I will carry on your will with me!" Mineta shouted with a determined expression, only to run away in fright right after seeing Haruto look at him with his fist still raised.

Seeing the exchange in front of him, Maxwell laughed silently in his heart and started to analyze what happened.

'That was funny. Stuff like this never happened in my previous life. Is it because this world is based on an anime? It's not important. What's important was Haruto's expression while Kaminari was talking about Momo. I clearly saw him had an angry and proud expression on his face when Kaminari called her hot, I can understand him being angry, but I'm sure pride isn't the reaction of a sibling when someone calls his sibling hot. So what is it? The expression of someone proud at their girlfriend being called hot?' thought Maxwell casually, but immediately after, his eyes widened.

'Wait, that's possible! Haruto is a reincarnator like me, so he probably simped on Momo in his past life! If so, why did he wish to be her sibling if it lowers his chances of dating her? Does he have an incest fetish? I should investigate this more. If he really does have an incest fetish, he probably began to date her a few years ago and tried to keep the royal bloodline pure this year. (Means he had segs with her).'

Even though the idea of doing the deed at fifteen seems ridiculous to Maxwell, he knows it's possible after reading fanfics where the main character had sex with Momo just before high school started. Ending his thoughts there, Maxwell was about to go outside the changing room when Haruto suddenly shouted at him.

"Hey, Maxwell! Can we talk right now!?"

Hearing Haruto call Maxwell, the remaining boys in the room and Maxwell raised an eyebrow at this. After thinking for a few seconds, Maxwell nodded his head and replied.

"Sure, only for a few minutes, though. Aizawa-sensei will get mad at us if we are late."

Hearing Maxwell's reply, Haruto nodded and then walked toward Maxwell to drag him to a secluded place. While walking, Haruto released a little bit of his blood lust, scaring the other people in the room and freezing them.

"Don't you dare follow us." Haruto said, making the others nod their head.

While following Haruto, Maxwell internally scoffed and thought.

'You call that bloodlust. Rose's bloodlust is much scarier than yours.'

After thinking about that, Maxwell started to guess Haruto's purpose in wanting to talk with him while walking toward the destination. After a dozen seconds, Haruto and Maxwell arrived at a secluded place. Just when Maxwell was going to open his mouth first to disrupt Haruto's pace, Haruto opened his mouth first and asked a question.

"Are you a reincarnator?"

*Author note: No romance with U.A students, MC was a normal person before, so even though he is selfish, he isn't evil. So he still feels uncomfortable with deceiving people even though he steeled his heart. But even though he feels discomfort, it doesn't mean he will confess his plan to kill Haruto or act differently toward them. MC is separating personal feelings from business, so his discomfort toward U.A students won't be a significant problem. I added the discomfort part since it makes sense with his personality. He also won't have a girlfriend or a fling until he kills Haruto since he feels it wastes time. You may have also read the scene where Haruto released his bloodlust. If you did, you are probably wondering why Bakugo and Todoroki also nodded their head and didn't resist. The answer is that they had already exited the changing room and gone to the field. You can also see the MC is not that close to Momo right now. Since he addresses her by her last name, it shows they aren't that close yet. Unlike with Kirishima and Mina, who he addresses by their first name. The MC will act differently in U.A so don't think what the MC does is his personality. The only fake personality MC showed so far is his hate for being short and being petty. Everything else is his real personality since the MC doesn't want to constantly be cautious about whether the next words he says aligns with his personality.
