Chapter 32

After Stain's capture, Axel, Iida, Shoto, and Midoriya were taken to the hospital to recover from any injuries they have. Though that was unnecessary since Axel and Shoto had no injuries, Midoriya had a few cuts but nothing too serious like a broken arm, but Iida had the worst injury which was a cut to his shoulder but it would heal pretty fast.

The 4 of them were sitting in the hospital room as they couldn't go back to their internships. The hospital wouldn't allow them to leave.

" So I should just do it like this to aim and shoot? " Midpriya asked as he stared at the screen.

" Yep. " Axel said.

Shoto and Iida watched the screen as Midoriya played the game on his phone. Since they couldn't leave, they decided to play gans to pass the time.

" I did it. " Midoriya said with a smile as he looked at the 3 stars he got for clearing the level. He then handed it to Shoto as it is his turn to play.

Just as Shoto was about to start playing, they heard the door open. In came the old man they saw yesterday. Midoriya's sensei, Gran Torino.

" Gran Torino. " Midoriya said with a smile.

" Settle down brat. " He said as Midpriya flinched.

" I have so many things to say to you but that can wait. You have a visitor. " He said a she turned towards the door.

The others looked at the door as Manual and another person arrived. He wore a black suit and a white tie with black spots. The most notable thing about his appearance was that he has a mutation quirk that gives him features similar to a dog.

" This is Hosu's cheif of police, Kenji Tsuragamme. " Gran Torino said.

All of them stood up to greet him as he acknowledged them with a nod.

" You are the UA students who brought down the hero killer right? " He asked.

" Yes. " Shoto said as he looked at the chief.

' Why did the chief of Hosu's police come here? ' Shoto thought.

" Regarding the hero killers capture, he doesn't have many serious injuries except for the blow to his head, but he will be fine.

As UA students I'm sure you know that when superpowers were still becoming the norm, the police attached high importance to leadership and standard to make sure quirks were not used as weapons. So the hero profession emerged to fill in that gap.

For an individual's use of force and power that can easily kill others, actions that normally denounce, to be accepted fully, is thanks to early heroes who followed the ethics and rules of the profession, woof.

Even against the hero killer, for uncertified individuals to cause injury with their quirks without specific instructions from their guardians or supervisors is a clear violation of the rules.

The four of you, and the pro heroes Endeavor, Gran Torino, and Manual, must receive strict punishment. " He said.

The four of them looked at him. Iida held his head low and stared at the floor along with Midoriya. Shoto and Axel though, couldn't care less about Endeavor but mostly about themselves.

Shoto wanted to lash out but Axel held him back from doing so. Axel looked at the chief who spoke up.

" That was the official opinion of the police and the punishment and such would only occur if this were made public.

If this were made public, you would probably be applauded by the public, but not escape punishment. On the other hand, this is a bit underhanded, but if not made public, then Nedeavor will take the credit for capturing the hero killer and the one who saved the day.

Thankfully, there were very few witnesses, this violation could be crushed here. But this would mean no one would know about your good judgment or achievements.

Which do you prefer? " He asked.

The four of them stayed silent. Shoto looked at Axel who was still calm about this.

' Did he know this was going to happen? ' Shoto thought.

" Personally, I don't want to be the one to find fault with promising young ones because of one big mistake, woof. " He said with a thumbs up.

" Well, either way, we have to take responsibility for being negligent in our supervising duties. "Manual said.

Iida walked up to Manual and bowed.

" I am truly sorry for causing you so much trouble. " Iida said sincerely.

" You caused trouble for others, don't do it again. " He said as he karate chopped Iida's head.

" I won't. " Iida said seriously.

" I'm sorry. " Midoriya said as he lowered his head.

" Please take care of this. " Shoto said as he lowered his head as well.

He understood that this was a better option. While Endeavor getting credit for this annoyed him greatly, it was better than what the punishment could have been.

" Because of the unfairness of adults, you will not be able to receive the praise you would have gotten, but... " Kenji said before bowing.

" As someone who also protects the peace, I can say thank you. " He said.

Shoto widened his eyes a bit before looking towards his left.

" Please start with that next time. " Shoto said.

" With this said and done, you can go back to your internships now. " Kenji said.

" A car is waiting for you downstairs to take you back to Endeavor agencies. " Keji said as he looked at Axel and Shoto before leaving the room.

Hearing that, Axel and Shoto said goodbye to Midpriya and Iida. They then left the building and sat inside the car as it drove off.

" Did you know that was going to happen? " Shoto asked as he looked at Axel.

" Nope. I just wanted you to wait to see if he had anything else to say first. " Axel said as he looked at Shoto.

" I see. " Shoto said as he looked puts8de the window on his left.

Axel looked out the window on his right as he thought about the chief's words. The hero society was made for quirks to not be treated as weapons or tools. But that created something else.

Quirk discrimination.

Since quirks arent treated as tools, they are considered part of a person. This leads to people being considered a hero or a villain based on their quirk alone.

Shinso being the best example.

There's also the fact that he said people cant use their quirks in public unless they have the license to do so.

That causes more problems as people have to rely on heroes to save them situations, but they could not be able to save anyone because the damage would already be dealt with the victim before the heroes arrive at the scene.

In Axel's eyes, he could see the truth behind Stain's words for the most part but Stain never knew the reason why heroes go after fame and money.

The hero ranking system is based upon popularity, so more heroes do things to put them in the spotlight.

But Stain's way of bringing attention to this was by killing. He was also narrow-minded. Axel could still remember when Stain said he had to take back the meaning of a hero.

From that alone, Axel could see that Stain thought he owned that meaning and he would be the one to decide if someone was a true hero or not.

' His ideology was correct that the true meaning of a hero was gone in society. He tried to change it but he did it through killing. He was insane but his ideology had some truth. ' Axel thought.

' If his ideal world was accomplished, would it be better than the world we live in now, or would it be worse? ' Axel thought as he stared at the city outside the window.

He thought about the problems in society while thinking about Stain's goal for a better world.

' Would it be possible to create a world without the problems in today's society? ' Axel thought.

' Probably not. ' Axel thought as he stopped staring out the window and looked at the seat in front of him.

...

" Why are we here? " Shoto asked as he and Axel followed Endeavor. After they arrived back at Endeavor agencies, Endeavor told both of them to change into their hero costumes and follow him.

" We are here for practical experience. There are multiple villains in the area, which we will be capturing today. " Endeavor said seriously.

" Pay attention both of you because you will be getting your chances to fight. " Endeavor said as he kept walking.

" You knew this would happen didn't you? " Shoto asked Axel.

Axel looked at him and shrugged before following Endeavor, leaving Shoto to decide for himself.

Inside Axel's head...

' I did not see this coming. '
