Chapitre 3 : The way of beginning

Rei woke up in the small room that will become his new home. He opened his stats window:

Level 3

Strength: [5]

Agility: [7]

Class: [ Undefined ]

He had gained 2 levels by beating the gorilla in the tutorial. Now he had to improve his stats and find a class.

"If I can get the Archer class, that'll do me."

He left the room, went down the inn's stairs, and discovered a crowd of people, other players?

"Hello" he said.

No one replied, and all he received were dark looks.

"People here aren't very friendly".

Rei found himself face to face with a girl wearing an apron, which made Rei guess that she worked in the inn.

"Where are you from?"

"Silly question! I'm from Meredia, everyone's from there".

A puzzled Rei couldn't think of anything to say, but since he'd found someone who could answer his questions, he had to take a chance. Despite his knowledge of the game, he didn't know what had changed, as this inn had never been in the game, and Rei felt lost.

"How do you become an adventurer?"

"Ohhh, you've got ambition sir! All you have to do is graduate from Shipa Academy."

Deep down Rei hoped the answer to this question would be different, he remembered very well this academy where the dominant values are between help, benevolence, and courage.

He thanked the young woman and left the inn, discovering a huge city, people by the thousands, equipment stores.

"I need to buy a bow.

So he went to one of the stores, and reading the prices of the bows, he didn't have enough at all. So he decided to do a quest for non-adventurers:

So he headed for the forest at the edge of town, and began searching. After hours of searching, he came across the first rabbit - nothing dangerous, he thought. But just as he was about to jump on it, the rabbit jumped 2m, and the rabbit's stats were displayed:

Agility : [ 10]

Rei ran for hours after the rabbit, then collapsed. An idea crossed his mind: with the reward for this quest, he'd have enough to buy his bow, so he wouldn't need his knife any more, so he removed their blades and took only the antlers. He landed not far from the rabbit and said:

"Stay damned rabbit »

He threw the sticks right at him, and the rabbit, who hadn't seen it coming, fainted.

Rei took all day to find 2 more rabbits, and after hunting he returned to the city. He gave the rabbits to the quest manager and received his reward.

[ You gain a +1 level]

Rei, proud of his day, rushed into the equipment store.

"Welcome, dear customer!

"Hello, I'm looking for a bow please"

The manager was a man in his forties, he quoted him and said:

"You give off a special aura, young man, I may have something for you".

The man went into the back of the store, and returned with a black box.

"This was my bow when I was an adventurer, it's old but it's the best companion".

Consider his weapon a companion? To Rei, this gentleman was just crazy and shady, but the bow seemed special:

"I accept, how much is it worth?"

"I know what a pain it is to embark on this kind of adventure, I'll let you have it for 100 pieces."

Rei wasn't about to refuse, so he paid for the bow and promised to take care of it. Now that he had his weapon, Rei decided to begin his journey towards the academy to improve himself and obtain his hunter's license. So began his travel...
