Ever Night
"Do you know where we are going?" Daniel asked the moment they crossed the road. "We need a place to stay and there's no way we can find an apartment at…" Derek stared at his smartwatch and the time boldly displayed on the screen made him silent for a while. "2:43 pm"
He mouthed the last words with a sigh. With the gloomy sky, he subconsciously thought it was night. Many people called the outside world, Ever night, so he wasn't too far off.
"It's noon?!" The kid was more baffled. He had lived in the stronghold of his entire life, so the time displacement shocked him more than Derek, who just had to re-adjust.
"Obviously," Derek sarcastically commented.
"But where are we headed?" Daniel questioned. They had just arrived, and Derek acted like he knew where he was going. Had Daniel not arrived with him, he would have thought Derek really knew his destination.
