The Forest

In the morning they finished packing and started to head for the residence of the 15th elder.

When they left the city behind them Jim's eyes still where purple even though Morticias energy should have left his body almost 8 hours ago.

Jim wondered how long it would last so he didnt say anything. 'If the energy runs out. She can just give me more of it so it wont be a problem.' Jim thought to himself.

After some time the incline increased and they where surrounded by more and more trees. As they entered the forest Jim could feel the same power he had felt the last time they walked trough the forest.

They had to walk about halfway up the mountain and it would take about 2 days to get there.

Jim asked if there where any dangerous monsters in the forest.

"Where we are right now it is safe but the further we walk up the mountain the monsters get stronger." Ophelia paused a bit before she said the last part. With a worried look on her face she said. "and more agressive."

After a few hours of walking they decided to build their camp next to the bottom of a waterfall.

Ophelia went and got wood while the others builded the tents and started a campfire.

Jim was about to start cooking when a loud scream was heard.

Jim instantly got up and ran to the source of the scream.

'It must be her. we didnt see anyone else in the forest.' He thought.

Jim ran faster than he even thought was possible.

He arived to Ophelia standing there covered in blood. Around her where what looked like wolfs with horns and they had only one eye wich was positioned in the middle of their forhead and was pitch black.

They had long rear legs and shorter whider front legs with each Front leg having four long claws. Their mouth was long and contained countless sharp teeth.

Jim ran over to Ophelia.

She wasnt responding to him. He looked at her and realised her horns didnt glow and her eyes where expresionless.

He carried her back to the camp where he put her on a sleeping bag in the tent closest to the fire. After that he told Morticia what had happened.

He told her about the strange wolf like creatures and how Ophelia stood there without moving in the centre of it. After he finished telling her, Morticia looked affraid.

She told him that those things where nightmares and that with every hit they give you they also take life energy from you.

Jim asked her if they could do anything to make her wake up. 

"I could try with my power but i dont think i have enough life force. But if you help me then maybe we can do it." Morticia said.

Jim was happy at the revelation.

He asked how he could help her save Ophelia. Morticia explained that she not only could give life energy she could also take it.

When they went over to Ophelia she still was unconscious . Morticia sat next to her and gave her a kiss.

After she was done, Ophelia had a faint glow in her horns again but it was weak. Jim sat next to Morticia and she kissed him to.

He felt the power leave his body and he almost passed out. After he opened his eyes again they had returned to their normal color.

When Morticia gave more power to Ophelia she moved her fingers slightly. She almost looked normal again but she didnt wake up.

They decided that since she looked way better now. It would be best to give her a good nights sleep. Morticia still wanted to stay in Ophelias tent and Jim stayed at his own.

Jim layed awake in his bed all the way up until dusk. He decided there was no point in laying around doing nothing if he couldnt sleep anyways. So he decided to cook some breakfast.

When he did, he saw that Morticia was awake too. She had already made breakfast and was curentlly sitting at the lake with her feet in the water.

As he came closer she turned her head.

'It looks like she was crying.' Jim thought as he came closer.

He placed a blanket he had brought over her shoulders and layed his arm around her.

Togheter they sat there in silence for about half an hour until they finally stood up and ate the breakfast.

When they went over to Ophelias tent they could hear some movements and when they opened the door, it looked like Ophelia was awake again.

Jim went over to the fireplace and took the rest of the food with him.

When he entered the tent again Morticia was helping her to partially sit up.

Jim went over and gave the food to Morticia since Ophelia was still to weak to eat by herself.

After they finished feeding her Jim asked Ophelia what had happened but Ophelia was still to weak to talk.

Jim left them alone in the tent and went back to where he had found her. 

Jim wanted to search for clues to what had happened but he found nothing.

He wondered if those creatures could be usefull, so he brought one of them back. 

When he arrived at the camp with the wolf on his back, Jim dropped the wolfs body next to the fire place and entered Ophelias tent.

She looked way better again and would be able to continue the hike tomorrow.
