Mated to the Mad Lord

#Rated 18-Mature Themes Violet’s life was never her own—her father’s crushing debt made sure of that. But when the debt collector comes to carve a payment from her body, she takes a desperate deal: become a servant and spy on the mysterious and tyrannical Lord Cain, the ruler of her Werewolf district. There’s just one catch: Lord Cain permits only male servants in his house. Disguised as a boy, Violet cuts her hair, flattens her chest, and dons a voice-altering band to pull off the deception. Everything is going according to plan—until Cain, a man known for his cold and unwavering authority, starts to take a peculiar interest in her. Violet’s disguise becomes a prison of its own as she battles her own growing attraction to him. But this is no love story. Cain’s obsession to her is dangerous. Beneath cold allure lies a darkness Violet can’t ignore, a mind fractured by years of affliction by a curse. A curse made by Violet's biological mother: A powerful witch. ************* "TAKE IT OFF!" Violet’s knees nearly buckled at the thunderous command, her chest tightening with panic. The raw anger in Cain’s voice was as sharp as a blade. "My lord! I-I’m a man!" she stammered, gripping her shirt tightly, her fingers trembling as they clung to the fabric. "I don't like other men!" she cried, a desperate plea in her voice since the second she took her shirt off and he discovered that she was a woman was the moment she died. Painfully. Cain’s glare was unyielding, his voice dropping into a growl. "Don’t insult me, You think I do. You kissed me!" Her breath hitched as he stepped closer, his presence suffocating. "If you don’t take it off," he said, his tone low and dangerous, "I’ll rip it off myself." Violet’s mind raced, panic threatening to overwhelm her. She couldn’t let him find out—he’d kill her. Painfully. Glancing away to avoid his gaze when she caught the undeniable bulge in his trousers. Heat flushed her face, her thoughts spinning in desperation at the only idea she could think of to make him back off. 'This has to work. It has to!'

Opposites Attract?

His golden brown eyes were alluring but at the same time, it encompassed something dark and scary that Violet couldn't help but be wary off as she continued to stand in front of his table unable to leave with the 50pages in her hands.

"Sir, You-you want all these done by the end of today?" stuttering as she desperately hoped that what she had heard had simply been what her imagination had made up.

"Yes! Did I stutter?" he asked his attention back on the pages in front of him even as Violet slightly squeezed the papers in her hands before turning around to walk to the bathroom to grab a bucket.

Her face an unreadable mask as she looked around for a fork something she easily found at the bar without having to look around for too long after carefully finding a place to put the pages Lord Cain had given her.

'There's absolutely no need for torture. If he wants to kill me why not just kill me?'' she thought convinced that her identity had been found out and already planning ways to leave.

'If I run away, Rexter might assume that I'm dead!' Violet thought as she placed the bucket in the center of the room with another one beside it which was filled with water.

'There was nothing that mentioned that I had to go carry water from the bathroom with a fork' but she had only just began to transfer the water when she realized the futility of her actions.

Watching the water slid off the fork in a way that showed that it's use didn't involve carrying things.

Hours went by and Violet wasn't making headway as she kept tossing glances at Lord Cain where he sat, fuming under her breath yet at the same time she couldn'y help but want to look at him.

She had noticed it the first time she saw him and unlike Ravon whom she had seen naked, the sight of Lord Cain's face was enough to have a weird heated sensation spreading around her chest. One that made her want to desperately go closer to him.

Put her arms around him and kiss him on the lips, as he…

'Slowly strangles me!' Violet thought snapping back to reality as she remembered the bodies the man in front of her had killed without flinching. Worse, he was fully prepared to gorge her eyes out.

Violet had just turned her gaze back up to peek at him as her thoughts strayed when she heard him suddenly speak to her, to her immense shock as she jerked back from the suddenness of it.

"If you still have time to watch me then you must be done with the task I've given you!" he said even as he got on his feet, dragging the huge chair he sat on with his legs as he stepped out from behind the table.

Sliding his hands across the edges of the table just before he snatched a knife that had been lying on it off, twiddling it through his fingers as he continued walking towards her, only stopping when he was only about a two feet away from her.

Violet could smell him and he smelt wonderous. Dark and musky the kind she wanted nothing but to desperately bury her nose in for some reason and pull him closer as she leaned into him. But the thought was still forming in her mind when she lifted her gaze up to meet his eyes, eyes cold enough to freeze her where she stood.

"Lord Cain! I'm-I'm almost done with the first task!" she stuttered bowing her head only to feel him close the distance between them as he hovered over her. "The bucket is still half empty!" his voice deep as he seemed to resonate deep in her ears in a way that made her want to look up just to catch a glimpse of his eyes.

'He's attractive and his voice and body makes me want to..' Violet wondering if it had something to do with special trait of werewolves. Ravon didn't have this effect on me!

"I-I'll move on to the next task once I'm ackkk—" but she was still speaking when she choked on the words she had been about to say as she suddenly felt a tight hold around her neck. Tight enough to make her eyes immediately start to water.

Her first instinct was to struggle something she immediately realized was useless as his hold was firm, holding her in place as he raised the knife he held in his left hand.

Fear crawled like ants across Violet' skin as her the sound of her heart thumping was the loudest she had ever heard as she watched him move the knife closer to her face.

"Maybe you need some motivation!" He whispered but this time around Violet couldn't think of the alluring quality of his voice as her entire body shook and she began to claw at his hands trying to claw herself away from him.

The panic she felt was palpable as tears slid down her face as she watched the knife move even closer to her left eye, close enough to make her freeze for fear that she would mistakenly stab herself on it.

She froze but Cain didn't, placing the knife right at the edge of her eye as he slowly dug in, Violet whimpered, gasping for air for anything that would make her avoid the fate that was about to descend upon her.

Squeezing her eyes firmly shut as she gripped his hand around her neck and began to plead, "Lord-Lord Cain!" she begged wanting to beg for her eyes when she recalled what happened to the man who had begged during the test and how the mad man in front of her had simply shot him.

Violet felt the knife dig into the base of her eyes when she suddenly felt her body slowly go limp and her consciousness slowly fade as she fainted. Not sure whether it was a blessing but one she readily accepted.
