Mated to the Mad Lord

#Rated 18-Mature Themes Violet’s life was never her own—her father’s crushing debt made sure of that. But when the debt collector comes to carve a payment from her body, she takes a desperate deal: become a servant and spy on the mysterious and tyrannical Lord Cain, the ruler of her Werewolf district. There’s just one catch: Lord Cain permits only male servants in his house. Disguised as a boy, Violet cuts her hair, flattens her chest, and dons a voice-altering band to pull off the deception. Everything is going according to plan—until Cain, a man known for his cold and unwavering authority, starts to take a peculiar interest in her. Violet’s disguise becomes a prison of its own as she battles her own growing attraction to him. But this is no love story. Cain’s obsession to her is dangerous. Beneath cold allure lies a darkness Violet can’t ignore, a mind fractured by years of affliction by a curse. A curse made by Violet's biological mother: A powerful witch. ************* "TAKE IT OFF!" Violet’s knees nearly buckled at the thunderous command, her chest tightening with panic. The raw anger in Cain’s voice was as sharp as a blade. "My lord! I-I’m a man!" she stammered, gripping her shirt tightly, her fingers trembling as they clung to the fabric. "I don't like other men!" she cried, a desperate plea in her voice since the second she took her shirt off and he discovered that she was a woman was the moment she died. Painfully. Cain’s glare was unyielding, his voice dropping into a growl. "Don’t insult me, You think I do. You kissed me!" Her breath hitched as he stepped closer, his presence suffocating. "If you don’t take it off," he said, his tone low and dangerous, "I’ll rip it off myself." Violet’s mind raced, panic threatening to overwhelm her. She couldn’t let him find out—he’d kill her. Painfully. Glancing away to avoid his gaze when she caught the undeniable bulge in his trousers. Heat flushed her face, her thoughts spinning in desperation at the only idea she could think of to make him back off. 'This has to work. It has to!'

Never Again!

Violet had gone ahead to find the bottle and immediately dispose of it. Intent on making sure it would never again be found.

What was more surprising was when the day began, expecting Cain to give her as much hell as he had previously given her, only for her to be completely ignored.

Even the 50 page assignment he had given her seemed to have been forgotten and Violet didn't dare open her mouth to bring it up if he saw no need to.

Instead, she lingered in his wing, bringing him wine and food the second he asked for it. Raising and putting down curtains, standing around for hours, something she slowly came to appreciate.

'This is so much better than being strangled,' her reality having changed as she realized that she was even prepared to clean the bathroom with a toothbrush as long as it didn't require being in pain or dying.

Cain required a particular report from Ravon which she instantly dashed downstairs to bring as fast as she could, getting into her role as a servant. The tension in her heart mostly went as she focused instead on simply being the best servant she could be.

'If this can continue like this, I can definitely survive a year in this house,' she thought to herself but the thought had only just settled in her mind with a cheesy smile on her face as she continued to slowly make her way to Ravon's office.

She had just turned the corridor she knew so well, when she instantly frozen almost like something had stuck her down from above and completely nailed her to the spot she stood on.

Right in the corridor was Ravon holding a whip and vigorously using it. Yet never had Violet thought that a whip could be powerful enough to almost slice a human being in two.

'The strength it would take! The immense strength it would take was unthinkable! Yet right in front of her was Ravon with about five servants kneeling or lying on the ground, half dead, with some of them having already taken their last breaths.

'What the--" freezing on the spot, not daring to take a single step forward as Ravon's voice thundered in her ears. "GET MORE SERVANTS WITH PUNISHMENTS HERE! I'LL DEAL WITH THEM MYSELF!" He thundered and instinctively Violet took a step back.

Desperately, she wanted to run back and disappear yet there was no way she could go back to Cain and tell him that she was too scared to ask Ravon for the report he needed.

Worse, she was terrified that going back would ruin his mood in a way that would not be beneficial to her in the long run, considering how had ignored her since morning, something she immensely appreciated.

She was still yet to move when she heard the sound of the whip lashing through air against a body which instantly responded by eliciting a loud scream that seemed to tear through her very soul.

"Lord Ravon! I was wrong! I didn't mean to break--" but he didn't get to finish before the whip came thundering down for the second down even as Violet balled her fists together and saw blood drip from the young man's back and paint the floor.

'He's going to die!' Violet thought convinced that nothing could change it just as much as nothing could change the fact that she needed the report Cain asked for.

Putiing one leg in front of the other, Violet stepped forward, squarig her shoulder snd bitting down on her lips to keep herself from chickening out as she continued moving forward, coming to a stop a few feet away from Ravon.

Ensuring that there was enough space between them that would prevent the whip from touching her when Ravon decided to use it.

But she had barely made her presence known when she saw him turn enraged eyes at her one that seemed to not even completely see her.

"You brought the bottle?" his hands flexing against the whip in his hand in a way that showed he was ready to use it. Violet didn't even hesitate as she immediately began to speak, exaggerating a little if it was what it took for her to evade the fate of the servants on the ground.

"Vice!" she greeted with a low bow that exposed her back and made her spine shiver in visible fear as she snaped her neck up and forced down the urge to take a step back as she continued to speak.

"Lord Cain urgently needs a report about the Molten Stone company. He looks pretty angry and I'd like to get it back as fast as possible!" lying through her teeth especially since Lord Cain had barely looked at her even after spending all morning with him.

"Did you just ignore me?" Ravon said with a growl that seemed to set Violet's heart ablaze as she shook simply from the blood-thirsty aura he emanated.

"I-I would never. Lord Cain seemed angry at you and I thought getting the report would alleviate some of his anger!" Violet responded with a stutter and eyes glazed with fear-tinged tears as she watched Ravon close the distance between them.

"You disrespected me! Do you really think Lord Cain's command is greater than--" but he was still speaking when he froze almost like someone had shook him awake, his eyes darting around warily as he passed a hand through his dark hair, his anger dissipating a little more than before.

'He's nothing but a chained dog!' He thought eyes focused on Violet as his eyes glazed across her pale skin which seemed to be dereft of any marks something he hadn't seen in a while.

Pale in a way that reminded him of Louise.

'It's a pity I'm not interested in boys!" A sneer flashing across his face as he gestured for Violet who trembled on her feet to head inside.

"Red folder on my table!" he replied before turning his attention back to the servants who were still breathing on the ground in front of him, bringing the whip down just as Violet moved closer to walk past him.

Her body jerked back in response, having assumed the whip had been aimed at her instead. "If you  ever ignore my question again! I'll cut out your tongue since it's clearly not useful" He told her in a low warning tone even as Violet scurried in, and scurried out just as fast.

Faster as she basically ran out the door and headed back to Cain's wing upstairs as fast as she could, unable to wipe away the memory of Ravon's eyes sliding against her arms which weren't covered since the uniform she chose to wear was the short sleeved one.

'Never again!' intent on wearing the long-sleeved one even if the mansion was to boil over and become hell itself.
