Chapter 12: Shocking News

After the meeting, Aron left the conference room and made his way to his private office, Rosie and Daniel trailing behind him. He walked with a sense of purpose, his mind still buzzing with the energy of his presentation. Once inside his office, he took his seat behind the large mahogany desk, leaning back comfortably in his chair.

"Daniel, bring me the newspaper," he instructed. Daniel nodded and quietly left the room to fulfill the request.

As soon as the door closed behind Daniel, Aron's demeanor changed. He glanced over at Rosie, who stood near the door, looking both unsure and curious. Without a word, he reached out, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her close. Rosie gasped, her heart pounding as she found herself suddenly in his embrace.

"Aron—" she managed to say, but before she could fully comprehend what was happening, Aron drew her even closer and pressed his lips to hers. Aron thanked him and reached for the paper, but his mind was elsewhere. He couldn't stop thinking about Rosie, who still hid under his desk. After a few moments of silence, Aron spoke. "Rosie, I want you to start working as my secretary," he said casually.

Rosie looked at him in surprise. "But why? You already have a butler."

"Because I said so," Aron replied simply.
