After getting off the phone, I took a deep breath.
I didn't have time and currently— I was wasting it, which I cannot afford to do any further.
So, after hanging up, I calmed myself and sat comfortably on a couch.
I wasn't taking a break… not exactly.
As I sat there, I got rid of all the unnecessary thoughts in my head and let my mind and body relax. After a few seconds, I felt cold but soon after I stopped feeling anything.
My soul had escaped my body— I was in the astral plane.
After escaping my physical body, I took in the information from the universe's stream of knowledge— searching for one single thing.
Nidavellir.
After a few moments, I felt the knowledge flow inside me.
And there it was, hidden behind countless stars and planets— Nidavellir.
Slowly letting my soul reenter my body, I opened my eyes.
Stabilizing myself, I got off the room and went to the balcony.
"The best possible outcome would be not getting spotted by any Asgardian."
I took a deep breath and shot towards the sky— easily breaking the sound barrier.
As I escaped the earth's thermosphere, I increased my speed to the speed of light and beyond.
It took me a long time, but I had nearly reached my destination.
A neutron star…
That was Nidavellir.
As I entered the realm of the dwarves, I felt the thick energies surrounding the place. But I was not here for that.
I transformed myself into a dwarf and without drawing attention, I slowly descended.
As I walked the streets of Nidavellir, I saw many dwarves walking around with massive hammers and tools. They were expert blacksmiths, but they were not who I was looking for.
The dwarf that I was looking for was special.
I used my mind-reading abilities and searched through the memories of all the dwarfs within the place. And after a bit of tinkering, I had found the location of the dwarf.
The Dwarven King, Eitri.
I quietly made my way to his abode. And after ten minutes of walking, I stood in front of a bar.
.
.
.
When I entered the place I immediately activated my telepathic ability to send the people within the bar in a trance.
With everyone staying frozen in their places, I made my way towards one of the dwarves that was trying his best to break free from my mind control.
I intentionally used a weak telepathic ability as I knew Eitri would do his damndest to free himself.
"Finally found you, old man."
He frowned and tried his best to mutter out a few words.
"Who… Are you…" He painfully muttered.
I had made sure to block all telepathic and empathic links that would allow him to contact any Asgardian.
"The name's Markus. A being from Midgard."
I was going to erase his memories so it didn't matter if I gave him my name.
He seemed surprised and I realised that it would be difficult to hold a conversation with him so I released the hold from his mouth— but I still kept the room surrounded by barriers to prevent any form of sound from escaping the place. Even word magic was ineffective within the barrier.
I took a seat next to him. "I needed your help, dwarven king."
Eitri frowned. "What makes you believe that I am going to help a being from Midgard? One that forcefully bound me."
I calmly took a jug of ale and chugged it down.
"You don't have to do it willingly as I can still make you work on it." I smiled. "But it would be better if you agreed."
It was pretty easy to alter his mind into making me a holder for the Soul Stone.
"I would never agree and if Odin finds out about this, you will rot in Niflheim."
I stared at him and after a while, I nodded.
"You know what? You are correct. Asking for assistance would result in you intentionally making the item faulty… So, mind control it is."
Without giving him a chance to reply, I pushed my finger over his forehead— altering his thoughts according to my will. And in mere seconds, he had turned into my puppet.
"I wasted so much time for nothing…"
I removed the memories of everyone within the bar and plundering the location of his workshop from his memories and then I teleported both of us to that place.
I used my powers again to let him regain a bit of his senses as it would be difficult to make him work otherwise.
His eyes went back to normal as I allowed him some consciousness.
"Now, I want you to make me something special, dwarven king."
I pushed a piece of paper towards him.
"I want you to create a holder for the infinity stones… I believe I don't have to explain about the gems to you?"
He flinched and was spooked by the name of the infinity stones.
"I believe this design should work. What do you say?"
He stared at me.
"Oh, you can't talk." I clicked my fingers, giving him the ability to speak.
"You… where did you learn about the infinity stones?"
His question made me shake my head. "That doesn't matter. But I want to know if it is possible to create a holder for the stones using this design?"
He took the paper in his hand and started examining the design.
"It is possible, but it will take time." He stared at me. "A month."
That's… problematic.
"How long before Odin figures out about your disappearance?"
My question made him think deeply. And while he was under my control, he was unable to lie.
"I can finish the work before he arrives." He answered truthfully. "But Odin is the All Father, he will find out the truth sooner or later."
"Oh, don't worry about it." I chuckled. "He won't figure it out."
Even if he does… I can defeat him.
But all the realms will suffer if that happens.
…
…
[Unknown Location]
In the midst of a raging battle, a man stood on top of a warship as he watched his men killing the opposition without mercy.
He had conquered countless galaxies and this was no different. He enjoyed power, he bathed in glory and he lived in wealth.
He was Kang the Conqueror.
The lord of time and one of the universe's greatest warlords.
As the last enemy fell on the ground— motionless, Kang went back inside the ship and sat on the throne.
He stared at one of the monitor's that showed a picture of earth— the planet where everything began… And the planet that he wished to conquer the most.
"Soon… Earth will be mine."
