The large panther, Bastis, hovered in midair, a fierce and decisive glint flashing in his eyes. Without looking back, she spoke to the group on her back.

"What about Zane?"

Lorna, clinging tightly to Bastis's dark mane, shouted as a blast of freezing wind hit her face.

"Foolish woman, Master will be fine. If we stay here, we'll only distract him."
