After she accepted the contract I began to seal off the realm from those who were using its magic. I began by locking the power to my other Hells and left an enchantment that whispered into their heads if they tried to use the magic.
The whisper would say "If you wish to use the magic of the Darkforce, pray to The Morningstar."
It didn't take me long to set everything up but by the time I was done Ruby had completely changed the realm. The darkness still ruled the realm but there was a subtle grey glow from the ground itself. There were also creatures walking around, they were made of shadows with long lanky limbs, hands that made claws, and where their faces should be instead were a ball of black mist with glowing white orbs in them.
Now that these are an occupant of Hell they can be considered demons. Seeing that I am done locking down the new realm Ruby appears next to me.
She has a big smile "They are nightmare demons, they can penetrate the minds of sleeping victims and cause them to never wake up. Aren't they cool."
I give a nod "It's creative, I have never thought of adding a nightmare realm to Hell, good job."
She looks smug as she crosses her arms "So are we going to Earth yet? I've always wanted to go shopping."
"Did you already delegate the jobs to your new demons?"
She nods with her smugness not dying "Of course, I made two much smarter and stronger than the others, they should handle most things, If not I can always pop in."
I roll my eyes "Then yes, but as a reminder, don't use your powers in public unless you have to, humans get scared easily. Especially by things they do not understand."
She nods quickly obviously not listening attentively. I sigh "Oh well, I'll have Tandy take you out for clothes." I put my hand on her shoulder and we disappear.
****
We reappear again inside the living room the got wrecked before I left. I look around and see that it has since then been cleaned up and the window that was broken is now fixed.
Ruby begins jumping up and down for joy and runs to the window to see the view of manhattan. I see a shocked Tandy in the kitchen with tears starting to appear in her eyes.
I scoff a little at her shocked face and open my arms wide "Come, come" She smiles and runs into my arms.
She snuggles her face into my chest "You were gone for weeks, I didn't know what to do."
I rub her back to calm her "It was only a few hours for me, I'm sorry, time works a bit differently in the Nothing."
She seems confused but still nods after a few seconds I hear Ruby clear her throat next to us.
"I hate to interrupt your PDA but can we go shopping, it looks like it will be dark soon," She looks a bit anxious.
I hear Tandy groan a bit "Who is she Ab? I hope not a new addition, she seems a bit too young."
"She is the daughter of a… friend? I'll be making sure she doesn't sit in a white room watching Supernatural re-runs over and over." I say still rubbing her back.
Tandy nods while pulling away from me and facing Ruby, "Why do you want to go shopping so bad?"
Ruby gestures at her nearly form-fitting old black pajamas "These are the only clothes I've ever had and I've never been shopping before. I've seen it in shows and books and it looks really fun."
Tandy looks taken aback "What kind of a horrible father do you have that wouldn't let you go shopping?"
Ruby sighs "I know right, he is the worst."
I give a small chuckle at their blatant slandering of a nearly omnipotent being. "He isn't that bad if you get to know him, I've heard he even has a collection of My Little Pony."
Ruby looks disgusted and Tandy looks confused, which causes me to grin "You should go now before it gets too dark. Take the Wraith, I'll wire 100,000 to you when I get a chance, just don't get too wild I plan to buy more of Stark Industries soon."
I walk away letting them get to know each other when I hear a voice growl in my head "I don't even know what My Little Pony is."
I smile at the voice "I know, I just knew you would be watching and wanted to embarrass you a bit."
"I do not get embarrassed," Oblivion growled back.
"Of course you don't. You can stop spying on us now, your daughter will be fine with me." I wait for a bit but there is no response. I sigh, well guess I need to check up on things since I've been gone a bit longer than expected.
It doesn't take long for me to begin to hear a few prayers from sorcerers wishing to use the power of the Darkforce Dimension. I take note of their locations and decide to quickly spend a few minutes dealing with each.
"Oh, great Morningstar please allow me to use thy great power." I hear the prayer in my head filled with obvious sarcasm. However, I know the person behind this voice and he has an overwhelming amount of power.
I vanish again appearing on an endless land of barren grey soil with black clouds letting in barely any light inside. The skies are full of bats and creatures native to the Deep.
In front of me is a white throne of skulls with a gaunt grey-skinned man sitting atop it. His hair is black and stands tall as it is unwashed and stiff. His glowing green eyes look at me in amusement.
"The great Morningstar re-appears after so long, how honored I am by your presence," The man's voice makes him sound insane but I can vouch for his sanity.
"It has been quite a long time Nightmare. You have been using the Darkforce Dimension? Not satisfied with only dreams?"
Nightmare smiles revealing his white teeth as he leans against his fist, "Sorcery has been fun to toy with... I have noticed one of your Hell Lords has set up their own Nightmare dimension, a bit intrusive, no?"
I shrug "I offered you the position before, then you went off and copied my Hell Lords," I jest as I see a hint of annoyance cross his face.
Seeing my words irk him I continue, "With the number of sins you have committed I should just kill you now. But I won't do that, after all, Nightmare's must exist."
He looks unamused at my words, "As if you kill me in your state..." He pauses as he thinks "Allow me to use the Darkforce for my amusement and you may keep your 'Nightmare realm', I will even leave earth untouched for you."
I smile knowing his words are true, in this state I can't kill him... If I forced it and did kill him another Nightmare would eventually take his place. This is a man who was near my equal when I was an angel. I don't wish to think of the amount of effort it would take to kill him... not worth it.
I shrug, "I find the terms acceptable, shall we shake on it?" My wings, horns, and crown appear as I levitate into the air with an outstretched hand. Nightmare stands from his throne reaching out his hand.
"Very well."
As we shake hands my smile drops "I do hope now that I've returned you will stay out of trouble... I can feel a host of new sins on you."
His smile grows as he meets my eyes, "Since when have I been one to get in trouble?"
I roll my eyes, "Then I hope we don't have to meet for at least a few hundred years."
He nods as my body is covered in flames and I move on to the next interesting prayer. I appear again inside a small apartment in the disgusting city of Gotham. The small apartment has very few furnishings only a couch, TV, and a coffee table.
On the couch is a woman with brown hair and blue eyes holding her head and shaking. She seemed to already be shaking but it worsened when she noticed my presence.
My brows raise, "You are not the one who prayed to me."
The woman nods as arms appear from her back pushing the girl inside herself as if she were fabric. Her body collapses in on itself revealing another woman now in her place. She has pitch black hair, black eyes, grey skin, and very few clothes. A crescent-shaped U hovers at her forehead and she stares at me with a small smile,
"You know, I never was a fan of the Grudge movies," my falls flat as she stay smiling at me.
"Return my magic."
I roll my eyes at her curtness, "What can you offer?"
She spreads her arms wide "How about this girl, she is quite cute isn't she?"
"Ew..." I wave off her suggestion.
Dark mist rolls over her body as her body changes, her breasts grow larger and her skin grows fairer.
"I can be anything you like."
My brows furrow, "Now matter what shape you take you are still 'that' under it all, no thank you."
I hold out a hand and a paper appears in a roll of fire, "You have killed many but most are justifiable and I can feel you are not truly evil so I will make you an offer. Think it over well, you can get your magic elsewhere but you cannot get my benefits elsewhere. As for the girl... she will receive benefits as well."
The witch's illusion falls as she grabs the parchment from me, "Oh? You can give me a body? How about freeing my brother?"
"Is he Evil?"
She pauses for a moment, "Nevermind."
I look outside to see the sun is falling, "Take your time to think about it. I have never minded waiting."
I turn my back to the pondering witch spreading my wings in the small apartment and vanish.
