PART 31

The police moved too quickly this time!"

As the helicopter Madam Gao had contacted took off, the special forces had already breached the door. Clearly, they were a well-trained unit, far superior to the police of the NYPD who only looked for personal gain.

"How did I manage to recruit such a skilled team?" Jason wondered to himself.

Emerging from behind the shield, Jason removed his helmet and mask, instructing his colleague Stan to guard the door.

With only two people left in the expansive office, Mrs. Gao looked stunned, her lips trembling and her face filled with surprise.

"Jason, are you really an undercover police agent?" she asked, her panicked voice betraying her confusion.

Jason couldn't help but laugh and said, "Have you ever seen an undercover agent who has been undercover for over ten years and still has hundreds of lives on their hands?"

Mrs. Gao thought about it for a moment and realized that what Jason said made sense.

If someone like Jason could be a police officer, America would really be in trouble.

"What the hell is going on here? I thought it was you who gave the police the address of the factory, but I never expected you to be working with them. He just called you 'boss'! Jason, what the hell is happening here? Who are you?" Mrs. Gao had many questions and was eager to know the answers.

Jason walked forward slowly, pulled out a pistol, and pointed it at her while pretending to be mysterious. "You know, secrets make men more masculine."

Mrs. Gao was very dissatisfied with Jason's answer and stared at him with a serious expression.

After a while, her expression softened and she sat up straight, saying, "Never mind, since this is your secret, I won't ask. Jason, let's discuss terms. Although I don't know how, you seem to have a lot of power within the police department."

Jason smiled noncommittally.

"Let me go, and I can give you $100 million. Haven't you been short on money recently? This sum is enough for you to live comfortably anywhere in the world, without a care in the world."

Jason glanced over at the safe not far away.

Mrs. Gao followed his gaze, and the smile on her face grew even brighter.

Heh, it seems that he's a money-grubber.

It's fine to be greedy for money, but she's not sure if he'll be greedy for anything else.

Mrs. Gao walked over and opened the safe, revealing a neat stack of cash.

"There's a total of $1.9 million here. If you agree to my request, this money will serve as a deposit for you. After you send me away, I'll wire you the remaining balance."

Jason remained silent as he walked around the office, inspecting his surroundings. "Less than 2 million dollars," he remarked, "and you have all this space. Are you really keeping that much cash in here?"

Mrs. Gao was taken aback by his comment. "Jason, it's the 21st century. Unfortunately Cash is outdated," she replied. "This is just a small portion of my wealth. I have hundreds of bearer accounts in Swiss banks, most of which are obsolete. The money is there."

"A bank?" Jason scoffed, feeling helpless.

"What's the difference between cash and deposits?" Mrs. Gao asked, confused. "Isn't it all money?"

Jason shook his head. "No," he said firmly. "The difference is huge."

Suddenly, Jason raised his gun and fired. The bullet whizzed through the air and pierced Madam Gao's head, killing her instantly. The notorious New York "poison queen" didn't even have time to react before she fell to the ground, her expression frozen in surprise.

[Ding! Kill Mrs. Gao (Daredevil), get 500 villain points, current progress: 2915/5000]

Jason proceeded to convert all the cash in the safe into points.

[Ding! Points successfully recharged. Remaining points: 193]

Putting his helmet and mask back on, he left the office.

Stan, who had been guarding the door, approached him and asked, "Did you take care of Mrs. Gao?"

Jason smiled and nodded.

Suddenly, the sound of a helicopter propeller echoed overhead, and the Marines had finally arrived.

The two elite forces worked together, and the gang members, who were already at a disadvantage, were quickly killed or injured.

The gangsters were psychologically beaten by the military, dropping their guns one by one and surrendering on the ground with their hands up.

After less than thirty minutes, the battle was finally over.

Stan handed over the cleanup to his subordinates, and drove Jason back to his apartment in a police car.

The night had grown late.

Franklin lay on the couch, flipping through TV channels with a discontented expression.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" he asked, pulling out his pistol cautiously.

"It's me," came Jason's voice, finally putting Franklin's mind at ease.

Opening the door, he saw that Jason's SWAT uniform didn't even have a trace of blood on it.

Franklin poured him a glass of water and asked about the mission.

Jason explained what had happened that night, and how the DEA SWAT had efficiently ended the battle in just half an hour.

Franklin was in awe of the DEA's combat effectiveness, and he became serious, considering what he would do if he ever encountered such a powerful special force.

"By the way, boss, what about Steinfeld?" Jason asked.

Pointing to the TV, Jason explained that Steinfeld was being interviewed by important media reporters in the city, after the Drug Enforcement Administration's successful mission.

After finishing the conversation, Jason retired to his bed and stared at the 193 points displayed on his light curtain.

He considered whether to save the points or use them to buy other skills. Ultimately, he decided to use them on [Fighting Mastery], reaching levels 5 and 6.

[Ding! Spend 100 points, [Fighting Mastery 6] is successfully purchased, and the remaining points are 43. ]

Instantly, a flood of fighting skill memories inundated his mind, and every muscle in his body repeatedly contracted and expanded. The resulting pain and itchiness were unbearable.
