Chapter 96: Captain America Jumps Off a Building

"Shit!" Thor was about to explode, "Stark, shut up! I want to duel with you!"

"Captain, Thor is threatening me." Tony Stark swiftly ran behind Steve Rogers, "Aren't you going to do something about it?"

"...," Steve Rogers felt a deep headache, "Stark, if you don't shut up, I'll duel with you too."

"So, you're joining forces with him so quickly?" Tony Stark exclaimed, "Your progress is too fast!"

"Stark, just shut up. We've all been led astray by the previous question," Bruce Banner felt that if he didn't speak up, Thor would eventually take care of Tony Stark.

"Bruce, what's your opinion?" Steve Rogers asked.

"Because the previous question seemed to be related to emotions, everyone thought this question was also about relationships," Bruce Banner said, "But what if it's not?"

"Bruce, are you implying that Captain was simply playing with them and didn't have any feelings for them?" Tony Stark asked.

He had been subjected to Tony Stark's nonsense for so long for no reason!

It wasn't entirely Steve Rogers' fault. His style had always been to directly confront and defeat enemies, whether through surprise attacks or frontal assaults. Using the trick of pretending to kiss as a disguise was something he had never used or even considered.

"Dispatch Control Center," Steve Rogers said inside the elevator.

"Confirmed," a synthesized female voice immediately sounded in the elevator.

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, Crossbones suddenly walked in from the outside. He reached out his hand, and the elevator doors reopened.

"Notify the entire Strike Team to assemble."

"Understood!"

"Yes, sir!"

Crossbones and several agents entered the elevator while talking.

"Forensics Lab."

"Confirmed."

Crossbones and Steve Rogers greeted each other, "Captain."

"Rumlow," Steve Rogers responded.

Then, no one said anything.

The elevator doors closed, and the elevator descended.

"The Evidence Retrieval Team found some fibers on the roof, so we need to collect evidence," perhaps feeling that the silence was too awkward or maybe afraid of being seen through by Steve Rogers, Crossbones tried to start a conversation, "Do you want me to notify the response team?"

"I don't need to, let's see what it is first," Steve Rogers said, his eyes focused on the ground.

"Alright," Crossbones remained silent again.

At this moment, Steve Rogers looked up and saw that some people had their hands on their guns, as if they were ready to draw them at any moment, while others were nervously turning left and right.

Clang!

The elevator came to a stop, and another group of people walked in, with one of them even saying to Steve Rogers, "Sorry, let us through."

The elevator space was already cramped, and now more people squeezed in, making it even more crowded.

In front, behind, left, right, diagonal to Steve Rogers, there were people everywhere!

"About Fury, I'm sorry," Crossbones leaned over and said to Steve Rogers after the elevator doors closed, "He had really bad luck."

"Thank you," Steve Rogers replied politely. Then he turned his head and looked around, noticing that some people's foreheads were already sweating.

The elevator, which had just started moving, stopped again, and a few burly agents walked in.

"Does anyone want to get out before we start?" Steve Rogers couldn't stand watching the antics of those people anymore, so he spoke up after the elevator doors closed.

A strange silence filled the elevator.

Then, in the next moment, one of the agents stabbed Steve Rogers with an electric baton, and the others pounced on him. Some grabbed his waist from behind, some held his arms, and some choked his throat...

If Steve Rogers could be easily subdued like this, then he wouldn't be the famous Captain America. He effortlessly took down the agents in the elevator.

Steve Rogers' incredible physical abilities as a super soldier were undoubtedly revealed at this moment as he easily knocked down his opponents with punches and kicks.

As for the agents attacking him, it was no different from tickling.

Even when the electric baton crackling with sparks was thrust into him, it only slightly slowed down his movements.

"Dispatch the Strike Team to the 25th floor." Jasper Sitwell, who was watching this scene remotely from his office, immediately sent more reinforcements after seeing how easily the people in the elevator were defeated.

Outside the elevator, a fully armed Strike Team with live ammunition was closing in.

"Drop your shield and raise your hands!" a member of the Strike Team shouted.

Steve Rogers didn't respond, but with his shield, he cut one of the elevator cables, and the elevator plummeted downward.

After falling about five or six floors, the elevator came to a stop.

Steve Rogers forcefully pried the elevator open, only to find a fully armed Strike Team waiting outside.

He quickly closed the elevator doors.

He walked to one side of the elevator, looked down at the lower floors, then held his shield in front of him, charged forward, and shattered the glass, causing shards to fly everywhere.

He jumped directly from nearly 20 floors down!
