Kyle

Kyle was trapped. This freeze wave was terribly annoying. It was like being surrounded by invisible concrete making it hard to even breathe let alone move. He had thought it was over when he saw the yak descending toward him then the little idiot had appeared and actually managed to fight back.

Kyle didn't know why but he wanted him to run far away and make sure he was safe. However, he was trapped, he couldn't defend himself let alone take Kip somewhere else. He felt like his body was being torn to shreds just watching Kip get beat up.

He felt his throat dry out when he heard his watch beep the 1 minute warning. Kip was still protecting all of them but Kyle could easily see all the damage. How he was even still standing was shocking.

Kyle tried to move, he was starting to be able to move his fingers, it was like the concrete was turning into mud. He had to get free and rescue Kip. That was when the silly idiot jumped onto the yak's head. Kyle felt his heart plummet, he was literally asking to die now.

Two hands could move now. Kyle watched Kip stab the beast in the eyes blinding it. His arms could move, the magic was falling away faster now. He tried kicking out and he felt the spell start to shatter, just a little move. It broke away just as the yak released another aura wave, but this one wasn't aimed at the guild members.

To Kyle's horror Kip screamed out in pain as the attack wave hit him full force directly. Kip's blade dug into the yak killing it and the beast fell to the ground its aura wave cutting off half way. To Kyle this wave just felt like a light warm breeze, but it felt way worse mentally.

Kyle started running toward him just as Kip stumbled for a second then went completely limp and fell from the yak's head.

"KIP!" Kyle yelled, his brain also mentally yelling for the idiot to show some sign of life even just a smidge. He flung out his sky magic creating a wind whirl. It swirled against the ground as Kip's body landed on it. It cushioned his fall before gently placing him on the ground and dispersing.

He wasn't moving at all. Kyle's throat instantly dried out when he couldn't see a rise and fall for breathing. He covered the ground in five more strides and knelt beside him. Kyle reached his hands out letting his healing magic cover every inch of Kip.

Don't you dare die! Kyle felt like screaming.

Kip wasn't breathing and for a solid second of pure terror, Kyle couldn't sense his heartbeat. Then he found a small little piece of life energy and he trapped it in Kip's body forcing his heart to keep beating. It was so painfully weak at first but as his energy covered him Kip's heart and breathing returned to a livable level.

Kyle didn't hold anything back as all the gashes on his body started sewing themselves up as well. He was already exhausted but there was no way he'd give up. Two other guild healers knelt down next to him and added to the healing energy.

Once Kyle was sure his body's main functions were still existing he turned his focus to Kip's head. He closed his eyes and felt a shiver run down his spine. The damage to his brain.....

Kyle had done plenty of brain operations in his time as both a normal doctor and as a sky user, putting them together he had gained the number one doctor spot for the safe zone. This though was on a whole other level. Like his brain had been boiled.

He focused all his energy into the smallest of details trying to recreate the brain he'd seen before when taking care of Kip. Something like this was harder than a 98374979475839479740934^99 piece puzzle with a 3D aspect.

Sweat trickled down his back, thankfully all the small details required less magic energy or he'd have run out long ago. His brain was practically exceeding its normal limits though. How long had it been, he finally managed to get Kip's brain to a somewhat stable point. Now what he really needed was to mix up some stabilizing medicines and hope that he would wake up.

He was about to open his eyes when a rather morbid thought of a forever coma or death crossed his mind. Kyle quickly shoved it away and triple checked his work on Kip's brain. The he opened his eyes.

The sky was dark and all the stars were out now. He noticed several fire users crouched down holding little flames to keep them warm.

"Thanks." He somehow managed to choke out.

"How is he?" Asked James, it was easy to see the worry etched on his face and the faces of everyone else.

"Better than he was." Kyle replied.

"Stable?" James asked.

"I'm not sure I'd quite call it that." Kyle replied, "I need to get him back to my place."

James turned to the guild members and started directing them to set up the vans to head back. One van pulled over to where they were and opened the back dropping a seat and pulling in some blankets. When had James even packed blankets? Didn't matter.

Connor helped Kyle to his feet as he wavered a bit from lack of energy. Cody and Jay gently picked up Kip and laid him on the blankets in the van. Kyle took the seat next to Kip and gently supported his head. He continued to let his magic run through him trying to keep him stable for the car ride.

As the van's started to head back toward the safe zone Kyle started mentally putting together all the medicines and mixtures that he would need. He gently stroked Kip's face as he felt water building up in his own eyes. Just hang on for a little bit, please.
