Kyle

The last few hours had passed in a blur, in a way the last few hours had been easier. Right now Kyle was watching Kip's breathing slowly rise and fall on the bed. He had finished putting together everything he could, the rest would be up to Kip and probability. Kyle didn't usually believe in luck but he hoped against hope that probability would be on his side.

Waiting.... Each second felt like an hour. He had started shaking himself at one point. Connor had come in and hugged him just a little bit ago then left him alone with Kip. Cody came in and tried to get him to eat something muttering something about how Kyle wouldn't be able to help Kip if he passed out from lack of food. Kyle finally shoved some kind of food and some water down his throat without tasting any of it.

...….

Two weeks had passed, Kyle ran through his morning routine of checking on Kip's coma state.

"Wake up soon okay beautiful?" Kyle said softly like he did every morning before heading to breakfast. He felt a prick of sadness in his chest, the damage had just been too much, the chances of him waking up...…

"Morning." A very soft whisper off to his side.

Kyle nearly jumped but stayed still not wanting to freak him out. He turned his eyes meeting Kips. "How do you feel?" he asked.

Kip blinked a few times and Kyle was starting to worry when he finally replied "been better."

Kip tried to sit up and Kyle immediately pushed him back down telling him to rest for a bit. The less moving he did the better for now.

"I'll be right back." He said softly as he went to fetch some medicine for when a person woke up.

"Oye Kyle breakfast!" he could hear Connor yelling from downstairs. He ignored him and continued what he was doing instead.

He returned with some water that had some meds mixed into it and had Kip slowly sip from it. Kyle felt his body relax a little seeing that some of the fuzziness in his eyes had gone away and Kip was looking more alert.

Kyle spent the next few minutes double checking things with Kip, thankfully he seemed fine for the most part. He'd still give him stabilizers and other brain meds for the next few months though and there was no way he was letting him go back to the open zone.

"Ky…. You're awake!" Cody's face broke into a wide grin, "Kyle you should have told us!"

"Don't yell and he literally just woke up." Kyle muttered back. He glanced at Kip who winced a little at the loud noise. As he suspected he probably had a killer sized headache.

Cody ran back down the stairs to tell Connor who then join them in the room. Kip looked at their faces all watching him awkwardly.

"So yeah." He muttered "I woke up, is there a problem?"

Kyle shoved both Cody and Connor. "Stop making him nervous and if you don't keep your voices down I'm kicking you out."

"No problem" said Cody smiling "you were just unconscious for awhile so we started to get worried."

"How long was I out." Muttered Kip then turning to Kyle he added "the guild members are they…." His voice trailed off.

"Everyone except you was fine." Kyle replied. "Also you've been unconscious for about two weeks now."

Kip's head shot up and his eyes widened a little at that. Then he winced a little reaching a hand up to the back of his head.

"I'll get Kip some breakfast as well." Cody started to leave the room.

"Only something easy to eat" called Kyle after him. His eyes glanced worriedly back at Kip for a few seconds. He seemed to be forming words and sentences well enough that was a good start to his recovery.

Kip watched him quietly while Cody was off getting food and Connor decided to help him.

"Also you are staying here." Said Kyle firmly. Kip's eyes met his again. Darn why had he suddenly gotten so much cuter after being unconscious?

"But I…" Kip started but Kyle cut him off.

"Here, no negotiating." He stated firmly.

"How long?" Kip asked.

"What you have a pet monster you need to go feed or something?"

"Well no but…"

"Then there isn't a problem. I'll admit I want you to stay forever but I'll only force it for two months since that's how long the stabilizing meds will take." Kyle felt his gut tighten, why had he suddenly added the forever part? Also what if Kip didn't want to stay, what if…..

"Okay" Kip replied.

Suddenly Kyle couldn't hold back and reached out to hug him "I'm really glad you didn't die."

"Yeah, um thanks a lot for looking after me this whole time." Kip's whispered return made Kyle want to hug him tighter but he resisted since he had just woken up. He became even happier by the fact that Kip didn't try to pull away from his embrace. Instead he felt his arms wrap around Kyle and hold him back.

"I'm really glad you didn't get smashed to bits either." Kip said softly. His warm head rested on Kyle's shoulder. Kyle felt like everything was right in the world.

Darn it thought Kyle, now there is no way I can ever let you leave. I've got two months to make you mine forever. Love is way more annoying than I thought it'd be, but also totally worth every effort.
