Breanna stared at her reflection in the human-sized mirror before her and smiled in admiration of her beauty. Her long, brown hair cascaded from her neck to her mid-back. The dress she was wearing was a long, white, sequin gown. Her perfect hourglass silhouette was dazzlingly reflected in the mirror, and Breanna could not help but admire the transformation.

Her face was graced with rare makeup which made her look outstanding. She didn't look at the role she was planning on playing tonight but she didn't mind. Unusual suspects are term to get away with crimes.

She drove out of her apartment complex in a simple Hyundai i10. Her father wanted her cruising around in the Mercedes Benz GT AMG he got her for her last birthday but Brianna knew it would only drag attention to her so left it packed in her family mansion.

Her apartment complex was located on Jaguar Street, while Tiffany's house was on Villa Street, less than a 20-minute drive from here. Tiffany was waiting outside her yard for Breanna.

The drive to the event center was oddly quiet with Tiffany refusing to speak a word. But when they arrived, her mood lifted as they emerged from her car. Breanna knew it was a facade. She was concerned but she didn't know what was going on with Tiffany so she could only keep her mouth shut. Moreover, they weren't that close.

As usual, the event was glamorous. Everyone came dressed like they were going to the Met Gala. Breanna and Tiffany walked side-by-side as they entered the venue. However, they were stopped at the entrance and made to wear their masks before they were allowed to enter.

Unfortunately for Breanna, her father was not too far away, so he was able to spot her easily. He waved at her to come to join him.

A pitiful look crossed Breanna's face as she looked at Tiffany. She had an elaborate plan set to avoid her father all through the party but she was so easily caught.

"Oh stop that! Are you a child?" Tiffany said then she scoffed, her eyes scanned a particular area and there she found the prey she was looking for then she looked back at Breanna and forced a smile. "You should go and talk with your daddy dearest, I have work to do."

Breanna was appalled as Tiffany walked away from her. She couldn't believe Tiffany would brush off her plea so nonchalantly, and without a moment's thought. She shook her head and clicked her tongue in annoyance before joining her father who was surrounded by many older men, mostly upper-class men.

As usual, her father took pride in introducing her to the men but after a while, Breanna's face grew tired of faking smiles. She slipped away from her father and joined her mother who was sitting by herself and drinking cocktails at the bar.

They shared a brief mother-daughter hug before Breanna sat beside her. They looked more like sisters, Breanna's mother looked younger than her age. It was from her that Breanna inherited her alluring eyes.

"I heard you have finally gotten your first case. I am so proud of you," her mother, Rebecca said cheerfully but Breanna was not as optimistic. She sipped on her mojito and sighed heavily making her mother frown.

Rebecca placed her palm on Breanna's forehead and her frown less but her daughter sighed again, calling for attention. "Enough of the sighing, Bre, tell me what is wrong?"

Breanna pouted childishly before replying, "Daddy."

Rebecca exhaled heavily but a warm, understanding smile accompanies hers. She stroked her daughter's hair dotingly, looking into Brenna's eyes "Is he still threatening you? Why do you care? I know you are capable of taking care of the case so don't be afraid."

Breanna encircled her index finger around the cup rim, partially lost in thoughts. "It is not that, it is that I might indeed lose. The case I was given is not easy," she explained.

Rebecca chuckled softly and pinched Breanna's cheeks making Breanna protest cry and rub the assaulted spot. "Stop overthinking, you will win that case and many more. I trust my daughter!" She praised."You have the power to overcome any obstacles that come your way, you are Breanna Johnson!" she reassured her with a confident smile.

After a while of laughing at her mother's jokes, Breanna's mood eventually lifted. She had taken two cups of mojitos so she felt pressed. She excused herself and proceeded to the restroom.

On her way there she bumped shoulders with a bizarre man. Before she could apologize, he walked away, staggering and hitting his head like a crazy person. "Weird," she commented with a shrug then continued walking.

She entered the restroom and chose the perfect bathroom to relieve herself in. A few moments later, someone else entered the restroom and stood near her box. Her heart skittered a beat as she recognized the person's shoes.

She carefully gathered her dress above her knees and climbed onto the toilet seat, squatting, trying to hide her presence. The peculiar thing about the strange person was his gender. A man was not supposed to be in the female bathroom, and even more so, the man Breanna bumped shoulders with.

Fear gripped Breanna's heart as the man stepped forward, towards her cubicle. She was a very vigilant person. She was certain it was the stranger from minutes ago.

He was shabbily dressed, sweating profusely, and had a pair of mud-stained sneakers on. Her heart almost leaped out of her mouth when the strange man banged a fist on the door.

She quickly covered her mouth with her free hand to avoid letting the scream she was suppressing come out. The man again struck his fist hard against the door, so powerful it wanted to break it down. Breanna couldn't suppress her scream this time as her sharp voice rang out loudly. She trembled in fear, terrified as the man's fist slammed against the door once again with greater intensity.

She finally found the courage to cry for help, screaming in the process. There was another powerful bang on her door but then there was a sudden woosh of wind and after that, everything became silence.
