Forced Appreciation

"Hello? Is anyone there?" Breanna asked in a trembling voice. Silence answered her, and she felt her heart pounding in her chest which only aggravated her further.

She didn't know if this was just the stranger's trick to lure her out. She stayed put but also brought out her phone from her purse and tried to call her mother but there was no service so she was rendered helpless.

With no other option, she climbed down from the toilet seat and stuck her head out of the stall. She first looked left but there was no one there. Then she looked left and almost gave up the ghost when she saw a man, his eyes were waiting for hers.

His face showed no emotion as he stared at her. Breanna was tempted to step back to the booth and lock herself up because she knew him. He was the man she met earlier, the man she thought was a stalker.

However, he looked more collected than the strange man that wanted to attack her so she came out of the booth. She straightened her posture and adjusted her dress while pretending not to see him. He wasn't supposed to be in the lady's room anyways, she told herself.

Before she could reach the door, she heard the man's voice.

"Not even a thank you?" He asked, his voice low and powerful. He moved a few steps forward and stopped. "I saved your life and you don't even thank me?"

Breanna didn't know when she shot a glare at him, half turning her body. "Save me from what?"

"Ingrate," Kian replied curtly. He still had his solemn expression, but his eyes were duller than they used to be. He wasn't wearing a mask making it easier for Breanna to recognize him.

"What did you just call me?" Breanna snapped, raising her voice. She turned fully to the man, her hands akimbo. She was livid; her anger was palpable and her surprise evident."I demand an apology right now!" She shouted.

"Ingrate," Kian repeated, unfazed by her warning gaze. He took more steps forward until he stood before Breanna. He was taller and broader than the woman but she didn't look afraid of him one bit. "The least you could have done is to appreciate me. Not everyone would come to your aid."

Breanna squinted her eyes as she looked at Kian then she breathed out and chuckled before frowning again. "You are delusional," she told him.

She turned her back on him but before she could move, Kian twirled her and locked his arms behind her back. "I must get a thank you no matter the form it comes in." With that he sealed his lips with hers, kissing her deeply.

Breanna's mind spun from the surprise attack. Her eyes were wide open in shock and her body stiffened the moment the stranger's lips touched hers. His fingers raked into the back of her head, holding it firmly as he dipped his tongue into her mouth.

At first, Breanna resisted but the hot heat radiating from the man's tongue made her give in and allow his tongue to be in her mouth. The kiss grew more intense with both parties' soft moans filling the air. She was so engrossed that she didn't know when she crossed her arms around the man's neck.

However, her newly found pleasure was short-lived. Kian abruptly broke body contact with Breanna, taking three steps backward. He shook his head as his eyes returned to their original state. When he looked at Breanna, his eyes widened. "What have I done?" He gasped, "I am so sorry, forgive me," he said and hurriedly walked out of the restroom leaving the stunned Breanna.

She stared in thin air for a while as her mind tried to make sense of what had just happened. However, it couldn't find any explanation. "What the actual fuck?" She cursed out loud, still confused as hell but her confusion soon turned to anger. "Did that weirdo just reject me?" She shouted.

As she asked rhetorical questions, two women entered the bathroom. They looked at Breanna because she was standing a meter from the door, partially blocking the way. They ignored her and went to take care of themselves.

"How dare that idiot reject me?" Breanna huffed as she moved to the hand-washing basin to wash her hands. She fixed her hair in the mirror but got angry again at the realization that that the stalker was the one who scattered it in the first place. She joined Tiffany at the party but was so annoyed that she couldn't concentrate on anything else.

Meanwhile...

Kian was in a foul mood as well. He immediately left the party with his subordinates who helped him hide the body of the thing that went for Breanna.

When he arrived at the party, he was introduced to the audience by the minister but he had his mask on so it made it hard for the predator businessmen to know his identity however, it didn't stop them from trying to get on his nerves but he kept calm, listening to their random contract proposals.

He was immediately alerted when he felt his mate's fear through his faint mate connection with her. He immediately excused himself and helped her. She was being taunted by a newly turned vampire. Thankfully, that one was weak so he didn't get to Breanna before Kian arrived.

There is an inherent hatred between lycans and vampires, which is why they do not go the same way. Over the years, the number of lycans in the world decreased, and vampires began to reign supreme again. However, the royal lycans of Thornheart kingdom would not have it.

They made it their mission to cleaned the earth clean of their natural enemies using their tribrid prince, Kian.

However, Kian was not angry at the vampire but at himself. "Why? Why did I have to take advantage of my mate?" He asked out loud with a heavy heart. He ran his fingers through his hair and groaned silently as guilt ladled his heart. "what was I thinking?"
