CHAPTER 1

" What !!! what do you mean she's escaped ? " a masculine voice yelled, his tone sharp and commanding, but unfortunately not enough to conceal the fear behind it.

There were three of them, all of them heavily built, yet despite the intimidating physique they possessed, all three of them still appeared nervous standing before the person who addressed them.

" Alpha please ! " one of the men made a desperate plea," I made sure there were no mistakes, she was right here when we left her, no one could have sustained that much injuries and still been able to walk, I assure you Alpha, she can't have gone far, my men and I will bring her back, that I can promise you " another masculine voice replied.

" You had better, I will not take this a second time Mydon, bring her back here and do it quickly " the second voice ordered.

" Yes, my Alpha " Mydon replied, retreating out of the cave, before being followed by two other men.

" Argghh!!! " he let out a roar as soon as the men were out, planting both his fists on the walls of the cave, they landed with such force that in no time blood began to trickle down his knuckles, the mad rage had begun to consume him, he was running out of time.

" You can't run from your destiny for much longer " he seathed with hate " I will... find you, then nothing will be able to save you from me " the words came off his lips with fearful disdain as he stared at the walls stained with his blood.

* clap, clap, clap* the echoes of hands falling on each other rang softly into his ears then a raspy voice, one he knew all too well.

" You sound so determined, yet you act as if you have already lost the battle " a feminine voice rang from behind him, almost mockingly, without looking back he answered.

" Mydon and his men let her escape, you know just as much as I do what that could do to our plan, you and I know very well what will happen if Mydon does not return with her" he sparked.

" Like I said, just like a loser, and what makes you think they won't find her ? " the feminine voice questioned, slowly walking up to him. " Four lycans and an injured Luna, and here you are... without a shred of confidence, " she continued talking, not for once pausing in her movement.

" She isn't.. just... a Luna, " he hissed and turned to face the woman who approached him, " I have lived with her well enough to know " he responded, fixing his eyes on the woman that approached him as she finally stopped only few inches away from him.

" I may not know the extent of her strength, a fierce warrior or not, she is hardly a match for four lycans, not as injured as she is at least " she spoke confidently, not moving her eyes away from his for even a minute, but his eyes held little confidence as his gaze slowly dropped " they will find her, " she continued reassuringly, crossing the distance between them and holding his face in between her hands, trapping his gaze " and when they do, no one will be able to save her ".

**************************

' Again came another wave of pain, clutching to my side as I made it deeper into the forest, I could barely see two feet in front of me, but it was far better to run into the dark and unknown than to go back to certain death '.

' Everything was in a mad spin, the trees, even the very ground underneath my feet, I could feel my senses fading with each passing minute, it was useless crying for help, I barely knew where I was. My whole body ached, there were cuts and bruises all over and they made a mess of my skin, I could feel the thorns pluck at the flesh of my wounds and each time was agony '.

' No one was coming, at least no one I knew, I wouldn't expect them to, I was a traitor, worse, I was a killer, no matter how many times I tried to convince myself that it wasn't my fault, deep down I knew it was, I made the decision, now it would also cost me my life, but my life didn't matter, not as much as that of the little one inside me, this was all my fault ' the thoughts of what I'd done continued to cloud my mind, ' only I could focus on my guilt at a time like this, but I'm I was guilty, and even though no one would dare admit it, I was a murderer '.

Blood still sipped off my wounds the more I tried to get away, I felt at my wits end, I don't know how I did it, but I had managed to escape the lycans, I could think of so many who would want me dead, more of my kind than I wanted to believe, lycans, Lunas, vampires, even the witches who had sworn never to intervene in the battle between my kind and the night dwellers, for some reason I was a threat to all of them, even though I had no idea how it all started, I couldn't seem to find a way to bring it to an end either. I only had one purpose now, to protect the child inside of me, and to do that I had to stay alive.

* A flash of lightning, thunderclaps and rain *

I wasn't familiar with these parts, that only meant one thing, that whoever had kidnapped me had taken me far away from home, far enough where they could probably kill me in secret.

" tzzzz " I hissed at the sudden pain that tore through my feet, whatever it was, it must've torn the skin under my feet clean open, I could feel blood sipping out of the open wound, fresh wounds were the last thing I needed right now, apart from the fact that they slowed me down, they were all my assailants needed to find me, I couldn't stop now.

Another flash of lightning tore through the sky, illuminating the forest in fleeting seconds, and just as the trees and twigs came into view, so did the shadows of the very things I'd been running away from, in one shoaked breath I gasped, taking slow steps back, with my hands forming a protective shield over my unborn child, they were already here, whatever powers I possessed, I needed them now more than ever.
