The One with a New Teacher

[author's note:- it is a AU so in this universe no other fictional work like star wars or marvel exist.]

The students settled into their seats, their eyes filled with both awe and trepidation. Gilderoy Lockhart stood at the front of the classroom, his usual cheerful grin masking the depth of his true power. Today was not going to be an ordinary lesson, and he could feel the weight of what he was about to do resting on his shoulders.

"Now, as I mentioned, today's class is about going beyond your traditional understanding of magic," he began, his voice calm but laced with an underlying authority that none of the students had ever heard from him before. "Magic is not merely incantations, wands, or potions. It's the very fabric of existence. And in rare cases, the true essence of magic can be captured in objects."

Lockhart reached into the sleeve of his robe and pulled out what appeared to be an ordinary tarot card. But as he held it up for the class to see, a palpable tension filled the room. The card glowed faintly, radiating an ominous energy. It was a tarot card, yes, but not just any card—it was The Fool, an artifact from another world. Gilderoy had seen it once before, in the memories of Glenn Radars, a former life that existed on the fringes of his awareness.

The students leaned in, their curiosity piqued, unaware of the terror that this card could evoke.

"This," Gilderoy began, his voice dropping to a whisper, "is called The Fool. A very special and very dangerous artifact, created by an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries many years ago."

The room went silent, the students hanging on his every word. Unspeakables were legendary in the magical world, wizards who worked in the shadows, researching and guarding some of the most dangerous magical secrets known to wizardkind. The mention of one immediately raised the stakes in the room.

"Imagine," Gilderoy continued, "an artifact so powerful that it renders any wizard or witch utterly defenseless. With this card, no spells can be cast. No charms, no hexes, not even the simplest Lumos. It makes wizards nothing more than defenseless lambs, awaiting the slaughter."

He paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in. Some of the younger students visibly shuddered, while others glanced at their wands as if suddenly realizing how fragile their power truly was.

"This card was used in a dark time," Gilderoy said softly, his voice taking on a grim edge. "It was wielded by an Unspeakable who sought to wipe out a cabal of Dark wizards. Entire covens were found—defenseless. Their wands, useless. And when they were powerless, they were butchered, one by one, by the wizard who wielded The Fool."

He flicked the card in his hand, and it spun through the air, landing on a desk at the front of the class. The instant it touched the desk, the entire room was hit with an oppressive wave of silence. Some students instinctively reached for their wands, but to their horror, nothing happened. No sparks flew, no incantations left their lips. The magic was simply…gone.

"I see you've noticed its effects," Gilderoy said with a dangerous smile. "No magic can be performed while the card is active. You are, for all intents and purposes, as defenseless as a Muggle."

A gasp rippled through the room as students struggled to comprehend what they were witnessing. Hermione Granger's hand shot into the air, but even she seemed unnerved.

"But, Professor Lockhart," she asked, her voice uncharacteristically shaky, "isn't there any defense against it? I mean, there must be some way to counteract its power?"

Gilderoy's smile widened, though it didn't reach his eyes. "Ah, Miss Granger. Always the clever one. Unfortunately, no. The Fool doesn't follow the usual rules of magical artifacts. It was designed with one purpose: to strip wizards of their power, and it does that with terrifying efficiency. The only way to avoid its effects… is to never be near it when it's activated."

The room was now deathly quiet, the weight of Gilderoy's words settling in. He allowed the silence to linger before finally flicking his wrist again. The card disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, and with it, the oppressive magic vanished as well. Students breathed a collective sigh of relief as the familiar hum of magic returned to the room.

"Now," Gilderoy said, his tone brightening as if he hadn't just instilled terror in his students, "let's move on to something a little more… theatrical, shall we?"

Without another word, he raised his hand, and with a shimmering flash, a long, crackling blade of red light appeared in his grasp. The students recoiled in shock, recognizing the strange object but unable to fully understand what they were seeing. The lightsaber buzzed ominously, casting a red glow across the room.

"This," Gilderoy said, holding the blade aloft, "is the weapon of a Dark wizard far more fearsome than any you've read about in your history books. His name was Kylo Ren, and he didn't use a wand like you or I. He used a blade—this blade."

He swung the lightsaber through the air, the sound of its hum sending chills down the spines of the students.

"You have not heard about him I know but there was a reason why he isn't mentioned in history books. Kylo Ren was a master of a unique kind of magic," Gilderoy continued, his voice dropping low. "Not the magic you know, but something far more dangerous. He called it the Force—a telekinetic power that allowed him to control the very environment around him. He could snatch wands from the hands of his enemies without a word, leaving them defenseless. And then…" Gilderoy paused, holding the lightsaber up, its red glow reflecting in his eyes, "he would strike them down. This blade can cut through a wizard as easily as a knife through butter."

The students were transfixed, their faces pale as they imagined the horrors Gilderoy was describing. The hum of the lightsaber filled the room, a constant reminder of the lethal power it held.

"Kylo Ren was ruthless," Gilderoy said, pacing slowly before the class. "He used this very blade to slaughter his enemies, one by one. And in a world where wands are your greatest defense, imagine how terrifying it would be to face someone who could disarm you with a mere flick of his hand."

He stopped, turning to face the class, his expression deadly serious.

"Remember this, my students," he said softly, "power doesn't always come from the magic you know. There are forces in this world—and others—that are far beyond your understanding. And you must always be prepared for the unknown."

With that, he deactivated the lightsaber, the red glow vanishing as suddenly as it had appeared. The room remained silent, the students too stunned to speak.

As Gilderoy turned to face them, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He had shown them a glimpse of the power he held, power that came from worlds far beyond their comprehension. And though they didn't know it yet, this was only the beginning.

With a flourish, he smiled and said, "Now, for your homework, I want you to research the history of Unspeakables and their role in magical warfare. You'll find it… enlightening."

And with that, the lesson was over. But the students left the room with more than just homework. They left with a sense of unease, knowing that the world was far more dangerous—and far more complex—than they had ever imagined.

Author's Note:- 1.The Fool- The Fool's Card: Glenn uses a special anti-magic card called "The Fool's World," which nullifies all magic within a certain area. This makes him especially dangerous against opponents who rely solely on magic.
