Once upon a time, a very, very, very long time ago, a Prince, the most popular, most handsome and wealthiest was betrothed to the current-day Lilith. She used to be a common maid, a nobody, who had found favour in the eyes of the Prince and love from the Prince charming. Her name used to be Lilian, the whore whom the Prince abandoned for another while being a few weeks pregnant for her dearest Prince charming. She was ready for vendetta and vengeance; she was ready to bring down the Prince and his new wife, the unreasonable woman, who snatched away her first love from her and their unborn child. She became so thirsty for blood that she became the first vamp that ever lived and that is still living. She was prepared to kill, but she decided to wait so that she would show her child how to deal with men by locking her daughter away from the sight of men for centuries until her daughter betrayed her and fell in love with a man. When Ma Adele finished treating Lilian, she handed her some supplements to make her wounds heal faster and instructed her on how to use them.

"Thank you," Lilian said.

Ma Adele nodded with a smile and said,

you so

"Come sit and rest while we discuss." The human fairy said as she directed Lilian to a chair and helped her to sit.

"Thanks." Lilian thanked her again.

"You are welcome. The only advice I will give you is to just sit back and just keep watching them. Don't interfere. You are not supposed to jump to conclusions when you don't have concrete evidence. I know it will be hard but just do as I have instructed, okay?" Ma Adele asked and Lilian just nodded in response.

"Good girl. Now go and send my greeting to the current Queen." Ma Adele said as she shoved Lilian out of her healing room.

Lilian returned to the Palace. She is a bit relieved as she has spoken to someone about what was going on.

She promised herself that she is going to do just as Ma Adele has instructed.

She continued living as if nothing had happened and as if nothing was happening.

She was just going to keep watching Prince Alasdair and Nancy till she finds concrete evidence.

She promised herself that she was going to watch them for five months and then report back to Ma Adele.

No, she doesn't have to wait for that long.

Ma Adele once gave her a crystal ball as a birthday gift about three to five years ago.

Y

Ma Adele told her that the crystal ball was for communication from a long distance. She hasn't used it once and she thinks it's time to put it to good use now.

She is going to stay low and play dumb for the time being, for five months and report to Ma Adele every night.

The moment she entered her room and hopped into her bed to catch a quick nap, a knock on her door came in.

"Oh heaven. I know it must be one of my colleagues, I am their leader for crying out loud. Can't they just do a chore without me for once?" She muttered to herself as she slid out of her bed, stood up, and walked towards her door.

"Who?" She asked.

"It's the top guard." The voice answered from outside her door.

The top guard?

He is the top guard for nothing.

He is the most trusted guard by the royal family.

Just like herself, he was brought into the Palace by the King from the human orphanage home.

The King wanted his son to have a best friend.

He was the most trained guard and always goes everywhere with the Prince.

But Lilian was curious to know where he was when the Prince went out with Nancy.

She wanted an answer.

She is willing to obey Ma Adele but she has to satisfy her curiosity first.

She was going to be acting.

Pretending to be doing nothing while very well in action.

She opened the door and shoved the guard inside her room.

"Hope no one saw you?" She asked him as she brought only her head outside to see if anyone was watching them.

"I, Goliath, can never be seen when I don't want to be seen." He said, hitting his hepatic chest.

He is the second most wanted human by the maidens under Heaven.

He lives up to his name.

He is as huge as a giant if he isn't even one.

His clothes are custom-made because a thin fabric would be ripped when he wears one. So, his clothes are always made with ten layers of the strongest fabrics found under Heaven.

His voice sounds like a lion roaring.

He is the strongest human alive.

People say he is useless because there has never been a war since he was born. Nevertheless, people still admire him because he is straightforward and trustworthy.

He is not allowed to befriend or marry a maiden.

His only friends are the maidens in the Palace, he can't take any as his lover.

"Are you sure?" She asked Goliath again for confirmation.

"Yes." He replied with a nod as he closed her windows while Lilian put on the wooden torch.

"Why do you seek my presence my Lady.?" Goliath asked.

"I wanted to ask you a very confidential question," Lilian replied, going back and forth.

"I am all ears my Lady," Goliath said.

"First of all, where is the Prince?" She asked.

"In his Chambers. He asked me to return to my room because he wanted to take a quick nap." Goliath explained.

Lilian nodded as she sat on her bed.

"Where were you last night?" She asked.

"I will be honest with you. I was not with the Prince last night. He asked me to take a day off. I did and I was on the mountain doing my usual." Goliath replied.

"Training?" She asked and Goliath nodded in response.

"The whole night?" She asked again and he nodded again.

"You know nothing I wish to. You may leave now." Lilian said as she walked towards her windows to open them.

"Wait, my Lady. Are you troubled? Remember, you can talk to me." Goliath said as he held her hand, stopping her from reaching the Windows.

"Yes, I am. I am very troubled. My heart is restless." She said, raising her face to see his own, as a tear rolled down a cheek, he wiped it off with his free hand.

"What is it, my Lady?" He asked again.

"Can I trust you?" She asked while he just nodded in response.

Thirty minutes later, she has finished telling him everything that has happened.

He sighed and said,

"I am sorry my Lady for I am speechless."

She nodded and said,

"It's fine. I understand."

"But to be honest with you, my Lady. I don't think it's the Prince's doing. I know him more than anyone else, he didn't do it on purpose." Goliath said.

"What do you mean?" She asked as she released herself from his grip and started going to and fro again.

"I am sorry, my Lady. That's all I can say." He said and opened the door and exited before she could even think of something else to say.
