Book Three: Part 1: Chapter Nine: Ismene's Issues and Aoi's surprise

Last time, Kaoru was asking what mission he was on?

Her mother tries to sway her from worrying about him. Aoi meets Ismene Fos, who is the granddaughter of the head priest of the religion. He learns more about the ritual.

On the way to the hotel, it rains.

He sighs.

When he gets out of the car, he becomes drenched from the rain.

Oh great, someone will definitely hit me on when I get inside.

At the hotel, Aoi goes to the clerk's desk to ask for the key to his room. The woman smiles and blushed. Ma'am, can you give me the key? I am cold and drenched. Aoi replied. Oh, sorry for the front door clerk. Here is your key. Selene replied. Thank you. Aoi replied. He opened his room. It was clean. Time to get myself ready to take a shower. Aoi replied.

He felt someone was spying on him.

As he took his shower, he thought about hiding things from me. It was killing him inside. After he got out, he dried his hair. He looked at his phone.

I texted him multiple times.

He looked, tapped my contact. I woke up out of my sleep.

Me: Aoi, is that you?

Me: Where are you? My mom told me you are mission only you can do?

Aoi: I'm sorry. I know you want to know, but I can't tell you.

Me: Why? Tell why?

Aoi: I can't. Bye Kaoru.

Me: Aoi.

He hung up.

I could tell he wanted to tell me, but didn't want me to be sad.

He got dressed and went to sleep.

Later that night, Ismene received backlash for saving her mother with her magic.

At her mother's house, she saved her mother and many others from a storm of monster attack.

Why are defiling our land using hellish magic? Ramiel replied. Ismene smiles. You say that, but remember, your wife once had a relationship with the son of the Grim Reaper. Ismene replied. Yona looked to the side.

I am staying at the house as a spectator, watching the ritual. Ismene replied. Why would you watch? Ramiel asked. As a child growing up, I was told about the ritual from my father and mother's point of view. I want to see it conducted with my own two eyes. Ismene replied. Ismene, that look in your eyes. You need to calm down. Yona replied. Why mom? Ismene asked. Your eyes are scarlet, like your fathers. Yona replied. Why should I care? I came for one purpose and it's because you asked me to visit. Ismene replied. Why did you ask that demon to come to attend our holy ritual? Aurum asked. My father has witnessed that so called "holy ritual". It's only sacrificing an innocent person who possessed Lix Tetrax magic. Ismene replied. What do you mean they help us with the purification process? Aurum replied. Is that so true, grandfather? Ismene replied. Don't even talk like you are worthy to call me that. Aurum replied. I forgot, I am a taboo in this religion. Ismene replied. Could you not provoke your grandfather? Yona asked. Mom, that man has never acknowledged me as his grandchild because of who my father is. Ismene replied. Ismene, I just need you to get along with him. Yona replied. I will try for your sake. Ismene replied. Thank you, Ismene. Yona replied. Almost forgot, my dad told me to give you this. Ismene replied. Is this your Sovanna Pies? Yona asked. Yeah he said, "You can't hide your emotions of sadness. It's very clear." That's rude of him. Yona replied. How does dad know? Ismene asked. When I started dating your father, he told me something that surprised me. "Yona, I am a reaper. I am the one who knows how and who will kill you. I can stop that on one condition." He smiled and grabbed my chin. I was shocked.

It sounds like he was hitting on you and was trying to create a soul contract. Ismene replied. No. Yona replied. My dad is Grim Reaper, but deep down he has a soft spot for you and I. Ismene replied. You don't have to tell me. Yona replied. Time for bed, everybody. Yona replied. Alright. Everyone replied. Ismene looked at her old room door. She changed into her pajamas and went to bed.

The next morning, Aoi saw Ismene again.

Hey Ismene, you stayed at your grandparents' house? Aoi asked. No, I stayed with my mother and stepfather. Ismene replied. You don't look pleased. Aoi replied. I love my mom, but hate my stepfather. Ismene replied. I can somewhat relate only difference is I hate my biological father. Aoi replied. Well let's just say, my stepfather and grandfather used underhanded tricks to break my parents up and it worked. Ismene replied. It sounds like your mother wasn't aware of it. Aoi replied. I know my mom. She just doesn't know how to put her foot down. Ismene replied. I can tell. She's the redhead in the corner. Your stepfather is talking crazy to her. Aoi replied. Oh is he? Ismene asked. She walks up to her mom.

Yell at my mom again. I dare you. You might terrify my mom, but if my dad finds out about this. Ismene replied. Please Ismene, don't tell your father. You know what will happen next. Yona replied. What do you mean? Ramiel asked. Be glad. My dad can not come today. After all, they put up wards. Tomorrow night, they will "ask" her to help with the ritual. If I remember exactly, it was the daughter of Megumi Shura. I think her name is Kaoru Shura. Ismene replied. Aoi turned around. Kagami said something is supposed to happen to Kaoru. Is this it? Aoi thought.
