Book Three: Part 1: Chapter Four: Megumi Part 4

The last time, Aiden, Megumi and Senji went to Megumi's hometown of Ishtar.

You're not giving me my answers! Megumi yelled. You haven't learned your lessons. It only takes one life for you to learn. Eos replied. Did you just threaten me, Eos? Megumi replied.

Some time flies by and we are almost in Caduceus. We were on the coast in Estia. Aiden bought me a necklace that was made of Cadmium Rose Jade. I smile. Thank you, Aiden. Megumi replied. As he hugged me, he was pierced with a rod of holy light. Aiden! Megumi yelled. Aiden smiled. No, no why does everything bad happen to me! Megumi yelled. Yumeko Tempus, you are under arrest. Sophia replied. I cried over your father's body. You killed him, you bastard! Megumi yelled. What are you talking about? Hannibal asked. I'll kill you, Hannibal! For how you treated me and taking what is mine. Megumi replied. As your father was in my arms. I felt his life force wavering. I mumbled an incantation that my mother taught me. She told me to use it when you care deeply for a person. Ancient Tempus Seal Release! Megumi yelled. A triple layer circle appeared under and Aiden and I. Senji rushed over to see what was going on. He rushed to see what was going on.

Aiden! I heard someone say a dead body was near here. Senji replied. I thought I died just now? Aiden replied. My body felt as if it was burning inside. I fainted from the energy loss. Hey wake up, Megumi. Aiden replied. He shook me and I wouldn't move. The HQ Admiral Hannibal and Lady Sophia came to take me into custody. You two young men don't need to be associated with her anymore. Hannibal replied. We got all this way with her power and influence. Aiden replied. This girl is the infamous Yumeko Tempus. She is a wanted woman, and now she committed the greatest taboo of magic. Tempering with human life as that cursed mother, Himeji. Hannibal replied. Contain her before she wakes up. If you resist we'll kill you. Sophia replied. Aiden and Senji became scared. I'm sorry for their rudeness. Where are you heading? Gabriel asked. We are heading to Caduceus, sir. Aiden replied. Oh, you don't have to call me sir. Gabriel replied. I woke up. Let go of me. I am not going back to that cell ever again. I will break out again! Megumi yelled. We can take you to Caduceus. Gabriel replied. What can you do with a depleted magic, Yumeko? Sophia asked. I summoned my weapons. I fought Sophia's bodyguards with ease. Yumeko, stand down. How are you going to compensate for the other half? Gabriel asked. Shut the hell up. What do you know about me? Have you ever lost anything in your life? Megumi asked. Yumeko, calm down before you faint again. Gabriel replied. I see this the lesson Eos talked about last time. This is the first time I have lost. It doesn't feel so bad. Megumi replied. As I smiled. Megumi! Aiden yelled. All I heard was your father crying my name. I collapsed from magic deficiency. Sophia then grabbed my hair. I am going to make an example of you, Yumeko Tempus. That taboo magic of that Goddess, Tempus. Sophia replied. Leave that girl be, Sophia. Gabriel replied. What did they mean by taboo? Aiden asked. Poor young man doesn't even realize what is going on. Gabriel mumbled. She sacrificed herself for him. He must be beneficial to her in her future. Gabriel thought. He shrugged. Your father and Senji went to Caduceus, they fulfilled their goals. Senji met his future wife, Irina Asclepius. As things were going, it took them six months to get permission to see me in that cell. Aiden and Senji would tell me about everything they've done so far. I smiled. Aiden could tell that I was hiding something. Are you ever going to leave this cell? Aiden asked. Yes but on the condition that I become a lapdog to this organization to repent for the many crimes and lives I have taken. Megumi replied. Aoi was surprised. She did the same thing to me. Aoi replied. You are still a prisoner, is what you are saying? Aiden asked. I have no choice. Sophia is trying to make an example of me. I will make her pay for humiliating me. No doubt about that. Megumi replied. That is an intense maniacal smile. Aiden replied. I am not joking, I am going to make an example of her. My Tempus Magic showed me in a form of clairvoyance. Megumi replied. What did it say about me? Aiden replied. As he said that, I could not tell him that I saw he became with a doctor. I also saw myself happy. A little Kaoru and Ren running towards to him. Megumi replied. What did you see? Aiden asked. I can't tell you, Aiden. Megumi replied. Why? Aiden asked. I poked his nose. Telling the near future is dangerous, even for me. Megumi replied. That's an excuse. Aiden replied. I smiled. When will you be able to leave? Aiden asked. I really have no clue to be honest. Megumi replied. I see. Aiden replied. Will you wait for me? Megumi asked. Aiden smiled.

When I was released, I was sent to live in HQ housing. I lived in that penthouse by myself. That is that house you kids lived you first five years of your life. Megumi replied. He helped me move my stuff. I was surprised he kept his promise. I told you I would keep my promise, Megumi. Aiden replied. After he helped to bring everything in. He hugged me. Me being who I am. I was confused as f**k about a grown man hugging me. Now note, I grew up in Ishtar born and raised in a brothel. It is our world's equivalent to Amsterdam. The men are amorous, deceitful, and lecherous. You can't trust anyone. The saying "Chivalry is dead" is an understatement. Megumi replied. You don't like men touching you in general, Yumeko. Hedone replied. I am still having those trust issues to this day. Megumi replied. As he said, "I missed you, Megumi." I hugged him back. He then kissed me afterwards. That ending is so romantic, Megumi. Ally replied. Well there is something else I need to add to my story. Think of it as the moral of this story. Megumi replied.

That day, I never told him. Many years later, I didn't take into consideration to learning the spells full incantation. I soon learned that spell is like alchemy. There is an equivalent exchange. To compensate for it to work, fifty percentage of my immortality is living in him. Mom, that's crazy. Dad is living off your essences? Ren replied. That is a lesson I will never forget. I learned magic can help you. Don't use magic to resurrect your dead loved ones. It's considered a taboo, but that's what Tempus Magic is. Megumi replied. Megumi, did you get some of your power back? Rumiko asked. Yes, but enough that I can survive off it. Megumi replied. Only thirty-six to forty percent of it is back from what I see. Hedone replied. Gabriel walked into her office. I see you told your story to your children? Gabriel asked. Yes, they deserved to know. Megumi replied. Your magic deficiency is kicking in again. Gabriel replied. So. Megumi replied. You know, your mom came to me and asked me to keep you healthy until she returns. Gabriel replied. What do you mean, return? Megumi asked. She said "Yumeko will know when I will come back to heal her body". Gabriel replied. He gave her the shot. That shot looks like it is embowed with holy properties, like Goddess Tears. Hedone replied. Well that is one component of it. Yumeko is just a goddess in human flesh anyway. Gabriel replied. That's basically what I am. Megumi replied. What kind of goddess, mom? I asked. As you all know my real name is Yumeko Tempus. The part of my name Tempus come from the fact, Tempus is one of the goddess of time. She also is the goddess of resurrection as well. People pray to her to bring their loved ones back to life. She will bring them back if it benefits her in anyway. That goddess is also my grandmother. She has a vendetta towards Sophia's family for unknown reasons. Megumi replied. He gave the shot. I remember when she would try to kill me if I gave her this needle. Gabriel replied. Shut up, I am not a teenager anymore. Megumi replied. She smiles.

As my mom smiled, I can tell she didn't have any regret for saving my father's life. She is genuinely happy with her current life.

I wonder if I will ever be happy with a form of a sacrifice?
