Life as a not so lazy Wasp

Who would have thought that a lazy office worker like me would have died by the wheels of truck-kun. Now I find myself in a fantasy world of wizards and dragons not as the overpowered hero but as a stupid wasp. "Why cant I rest for five minutes without someone wanting to kill me" - Damion

A FRICKING WASP

"This place is so quiet"

I have been floating in this endless void for what seems like weeks. I couldn't even move my body as it felt like I was carrying a mountain on it. The last thing I remember was that I was walking home after doing some extra hours. And as I was crossing a street I heard someone scream and then my vision went blurry, now that I'm thinking about it the answer was pretty obvious.

To think that I would end up as another victim of truck-kun. So this must be the place where I wait to get reborn. The wait didn't end and after what seemed to be eternity I felt something change in my surroundings. It felt like there was a wall that stopped me from moving, so I struggled to break it and free myself. I pushed what seemed to be my arms against the wall and it made a cracking sound like a breaking egg.

After a few more tries I managed to make a hole big enough for me to squeeze through.

As my head emerged out of the hole I was left flabbergasted; the world was so big! There were towering black trees that had white leaves, and I was on one of those trees.

Climbing out of the cocoon-like structure I realized there was something not right with my body and even my eyesight. I had a wider field of vision and could farther than what I could have as a human. But when I turned my head to look at the rest of my body I almost fainted.

" What did I do to deserve this!"

My body had three segmented parts, I had a small head with two long antennae sticking out of it and mandibles that looked sturdy, a middle part which I think was called a thorax which had a small pair of obsidian colored wings that looked a bit wet and an abdomen that had a sharp deadly stinger. Most of my body was black with a few yellow stripes around my stinger.

" Of all the things to be reborn as it had to be a freaking wasp. Did god get lazy or something or is it because I didn't go to church that often."

Well if I'm a wasp that means god must have given me a cheat or a divine relic to make up for this ass reincarnations. As a man of culture from my past life I was pretty versed in this type of situation. And the best thing to get when your isekai'd is a system. Immediately I thought of a panel showing my status and a gray screen appeared before me.

" Is it too late to try commit suicide and get reborn again?"

The only shining star was the fusion skill that would greatly increase my survival chances. After looking over my status I assessed my surroundings. I was on a branch not too far from the ground so I decided to climb down.

Hugging the tree I started my climb down, thankfully my six legs were rather sharp so it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. When I reached the forest floor I found the closest white leaf near me. I continued to crawl from leaf to leaf until I spotted a small hollow log that looked abandoned.

When I crawled inside it I realized that it went way deeper than I thought. At the end of the log there was a small room that was very cozy. I also had droplets of water coming from its roof so I decided that it would make a decent base for now.

" Now that I have a shelter, it's time to find food. "

I was a bit hesitant to start finding prey so I would look for fruits. Crawling under the leaves I started looking for anything edible, I had not seen any other insect or animal around so I was getting nervous.

Five minutes after exploring I came across a small plant that had weird blue berry looking

Fruit hanging from one of its flowers. Checking to see if there were any threats around I slowly made my way to the fruit. Just as I was about to pick the fruit something told me to jump back and I followed my instincts.

A sharp appendage almost killed me when I just got reborn. My attacker crawled out of a hole in the ground and looked at me with its menacing eye.

It was a tall scorpion creature with a single eye and sharp pincers. The odd thing though was that it look like it was heavily injured and had various gashes and cracks all over its carapace

Even though I wanted to escape I didn't know if it would chase me so I decided against it. Me and the scorpion looked at each other for a while until it decided to start the attack.

It swung one of its large pincers at me which I dodge by jumping back, I saw a crack in its armor so I used my blade- like that had my poison and thrust it into its open wound.

The creature wailed and looked at me with renewed hatred . I could take my arm out quick enough and was swatted by the creature.

Landing a meter away from the scorpion I looked to see if I caused any damage and sure enough the area I attacked was now bleeding profusely.

The monster staggered and my poise seemed to have slowed it down as well. Rushing up to it I took the opportunity to jump and stab my stinger right into its eye.

The monster wailed and collapsed on to the ground. After this ordeal I have had enough exploring for the day so I slowly dragged the dead scorpion back to my borrow.

Now that I had food I finally had time to think about my situation. The way I moved to kill the scorpion felt second nature to me and I didn't feel uncomfortable with six sharp blades for feet.

Also even though I was killed I didn't feel anything. I guess one's circumstances can really affect their view on matters.

Anyway, shaking my head to get rid of those thoughts I focused on the matter in front of me: eating something. Using the cracks I tore off the hard outer shell of the scorpion, and tasted its flesh. It was rather tight but besides that it was quite bland. I even chewed on its outer shell and took a bite of it poison gland. When I was done eating my fill a panel appeared.
