"Finish the Job..."

Liana arrived at the cafe where her brother was waiting. He paid for her cab then they got inside.

"Here are the things you said you needed," he said pushing a bag to her side.

"Thank you. So tell me how the company is doing " she asked.

"Liana forget the company and tell me how your doing," he said.

She smiled, "Am okay, Xavier is taking care of me"

"I looked into him and was surprised that such a person could be the one who saved you " Lucian muttered.

"I guess I was lucky. I searched about him and was surprised his the architecture, King. I never thought we could meet one day " she tasted her coffee.

"And even share his home, I mean if the people at work find out they will all lose it. Imagine mom and Dad's faces " Lucian laughed.

"Don't joke about that, I would have gone to a hotel after I got better but I was afraid William would find me" she breathed heavily

"The police are doing all they can and soon he will be found. For now, I think staying with this rich guy is your only safe option " Lucian let out.

"I don't want to stay out for long so am going to leave first. Take care of my company and tell my Secretary to send an important documents to my email " she said getting up.

"I will just take care of yourself " her brother got up too hugging her.

She waved him goodbye and left. He watched her leave then grabbed his phone.

"Am put the tracker in her bag so follow it and finish the job. I don't want a mess like last time " he said before hanging up.

Liana arrived at Xavier's company and headed to his office. He had just returned from the meeting.

"Your back, my assistant told me you left to see your brother," he said when he saw her enter.

"Am sorry I didn't tell you I waited but it seemed your meeting was taking too long " she apologized after all he was the one giving her shelter now.

"It's alright I understand. We can leave if you are done with your errands " he said.

"Yeah let's go " she giggled getting up.

He grabbed his coat and they walked out, waving at his assistant and staring Gerald.

They got home and Liana disappeared into her room, Xavier made them dinner.

"Liana you can come down and have some food " he knocked on the door.

"Alright I will be down in a minute" she answered.

She found him waiting and sat down. His phone rang during the meal.

"Okay am on my way," he said then hang up.

"Something wrong, "she asked him

" Gerald needs my help with something," he said finishing his meal.

After she helped him with the dishes, he changed and left.

Alone again she decided to do some work she had received from her secretary on Xavier's computer.

Liana must have been tired that she dozed off during her work. But something woke her up.

"Xavier are you back " she called but no one answered.

But then something moved again, alerted she got up and called again.

A shadow appeared and Liana froze. It was a man and what scared her more wasn't his appearance but what he held in his hand.

She turned in a flash and ran upstairs to her room. But he was fast and he was beside her pulling her long hair.

Screaming in pain Liana missed a step and fell down the stairs to his feet.

"You thought I wouldn't find you " he smiled.

"Please this isn't fun anymore stop this already " she cried. But he seemed not to listen as he grabbed her neck. Liana fought him off before he could bring his cutlass close to it.

She heard him laugh behind her but didn't dare turn to see. Finally reaching her room she closed it with a bang and locked it.

"My phone is downstairs, what do I do " she cried moving around the room.

"Liana sweetheart, let's not play hide and seek am just not in the mood " he laughed.

"Leave me alone you sick bastard. I did nothing to you why don't you let me go " she yelled.

"But I don't want to and since you don't want me anymore I will have to make sure no one else does take my place " he started hitting the door with force.

Liana's trembling body dropped to the floor and with every hit, her screams intensified. The door finally jerked out and he walked in huffing for air with the knife still in his hand.

"Let's make that red hair darker with your blood " he laughed rushing to where she was grabbing her head and throwing her onto the bed.

He was on top of her in seconds and pushed his high hands around her neck and with force strangled her.

Shock, fear, and pain from struggling to breathe Liana started to lose consciousness.

"Going to die like this just after I thought I got a second chance to live. Will Xavier feel bad about my death just after he saved me " she thought.

"You called me all the way here for this " Xavier laid back.

"It's important, the meeting is tomorrow morning and we would not have time to fix all these issues then" Gerald smiled collecting the documents.

"If you done then am leaving "

"Can't wait to get back to your redhead" Gerald laughed.

Xavier wanted to retort but stopped.

"Something is wrong with..." before he could finish he disappeared.

"Ahhh, what is wrong you can't just disappear like that, Xavier come back right now " Gerald shouted.
