clobber

Lin wasn't about to let Bing demean her in any way.

She met Bing fists with fists. She'd been in a few scuffles in elementary school, and she knows how it goes.

Bing tried to grab Lin's arms first, but she whirred around and punch her in the face. Bing skidded backwards and hit her back on the wall, grimacing in anger. She tried to straighten but Lin was already advancing towards her.

Maybe she underestimated the girl, she thought.

She was so used to barking orders and having things her way, she had not expected anyone to fight back.

Kids these days.

She closed her eyes instead and braced for the incoming blow.

Suddenly, her surrounding spun around, feeling another wallop licked her chin. She was instantly dizzy, watching the walls spin in circles.

Bing bit off more than she could handle. Her arms flail trying to grab a hold of whatever she can to steady herself.

Lin backed away. She could've beat the woman to a pulp but stopped right there. It was not worth it. Bing is a naggy woman who would berate anybody that comes her way.

She's nasty and mean.

Sure, she doesn't deserve to get knocked out even though she invaded her privacy, but Lin wasn't going to tolerate anyone mistreating her.

Maybe Bing will learn her lesson, think before breaking into her room again.

Lin sighed, her eyes scanned the floor for the crumpled letter, spotting it by the door. It must've been kicked around during the scuffle.

She walked towards it, bending over to pick it up when she caught sight of legs in black trousers and shiny leather shoes. Li Wei stood at the mouth of the hallway, still in his driver's uniform.

There's an astonished look on his face. His eyes wide and his mouth open. He met eye contact with Lin who glared at him daring him to say something. But Li Wei only blew a long whistle. He doesn't blame Lin, he kinda hates Bing himself as well.

Li Wei clicked his tongue; he was chewing on a gum. "Damn Lin, ever thought about working for Mr. Lim as a henchman? You're better at beating people than cleaning."

Lin gave it a thought. "Maybe."

"Yeah, you should." He moved towards Bing, crouching on his legs and reaching out his arms to help her.

Bing made a sobbing face. "You'll pay for this. I'll tell Mr. Lim what you're doing." She threatened but her threats ebbed in the air, Lin was not listening. Bing's threats meant nothing to her, she's already walking to her room and closing the door behind her.

Lin pulled the box with earrings inside and placed it on top of her dresser along with the crumpled letter she's ironing with her hand.
