Chapter 38

I walked them inside and directed them to the dinning table for them to sit before Jennie came to join. Ana went back to the kitchen to continue what she left unfinished. Around the dinning table, Jennie sat beside Ryder so I had to sit beside Keenan so he wouldn't feel left out. We enjoyed the meal together in silence till Keenan cleared his throat.

"Am I the only one enjoying this meal?", he asked no one in particular.

"What do you mean?", Ryder questioned back.

"Isn't it delicious, I mean the food is very good", he responded stuffing more into his mouth.

"Of course, you have a point, I can't get enough of it", Ryder added. It was the first time I saw Ryder speaking so friendly and it made me happy. I never knew he could speak in such a tone, maybe because we never had a good and friendly encounter. Jennie giggled at the behavior Ryder was putting up making him smile back at her. In no time we finished the meal and Jennie and I helped clear the table. I helped not because I wanted to impress anyone just that, I wanted to be of help in some way.

"Are we all okay?", I asked when I returned from the kitchen with Jennie.

"Keenan are you okay?", Ryder threw a question at Keenan while I was asking everyone in general.

"I am okay as long as you are", Keenan replied winking at Ryder.

"Then meaning we are all okay ,miss Ash", he finally replied my question after listening to Keenan.

"Okay then , let's get to business…. this way please", I said and led them to my room. Since I knew my meeting would be held in my room, I got it tidied up before arriving downstairs. Keenan followed closely behind me while Ryder followed behind Jennie. I noticed there was something going on between those two but I wasn't so sure about what it was since they kept smiling at each other for time to time.

We got to my room that I had organized for the first time in history to avoid any disgrace. I asked them to sit on my bed but Keenan and Ryder looked at each other as if they were confused. Then I noticed what they were thinking, the bed belongs to a lady so they couldn't possibly sit on it.

"You can sit on the chair too if u want", I quickly said to pull their attention back to the present.

"Sure, thanks", Ryder said on my study chair but Keenan still stood there not moving an inch.

"Urhm Keenan, you can sit with him . I'd share the bed with Jennie ", I told him.

"I don't think that'd be necessary besides, Ryder is supposed to be helping Jennie while I help you", he said turning his head around. " so how am I going to help you if Jennie sits with you on the bed and how's Ryder also going to help Jennie out?", he concluded.

He indeed had a point but I thought he didn't want to sit on the bed from the start.

"Ok ok, whatever you say, let's get settled so that we can start this early in order to cover up much ", Jennie cut in and we all turned to look at her since she has been quite the whole time.

"Fine, Jennie sit with me here so that Keenan can sit with Ash on the bed", Ryder said with finality and we all moved to get settled.

Everyone took their books from their bags while I took mine from the drawer to get started. There seemed to be some chemistry going on between those two kids, Ryder and Jennie but I didn't want to interfere in their business so I let them be.
