On top of the world... again

Endrick felt on top of the world… again.

Once the ball touched his leg, he felt that sensation again that he felt last playing the last football game of his life in his previous life in the World Cup final.

He experienced that rush of excitement again.

He experienced that adrenaline rush again.

"Do not go forward!"

"Stay focused on defending!"

"We must not let them score again!" Anthony remained dogged.

The fiery personality of this attacker shone through as he transformed to become a defender. There were no Captains, there were no leaders, but his fiery personality instinctively made him the leader as he led his teammates.

"We must not yield!"

"Defend like your life depends on it!"

Under his leadership, the defense of the Brazilian Wall team remained tough and compact for the past 10 minutes as team Brazil Best unleashed attack after attack relentlessly against their defense.

Maria202 played another through pass towards Endrick.

Receiving the ball on the right side of the pitch, with his eyes which seemed like those of an Alpha Lion seeking out prey, he wandered like a predator into the opposition side of the football pitch.

Legion's run through the left side of the pitch kept a defender marking him, while Maria202 charging down through the middle kept the overall defense tense.

This deterred them from swarming the charging Endrick with numbers.

A single defender and Anthony closed him down.

Originally, at this stage of the game, Endrick would pass back to the midfield towards Maria202 who would analyze the game and decide the next course of action but this time, he was already too excited.

He was already in his zone.

While Anthony anticipated the pass so he could explode forward with speed after the ball to apply pressure to Maria202, Endrick did something else.

He no longer relied on his intelligence, Endrick let his instincts flow.

His legs seemed to become possessed by a prime young Ronaldo.

Slowing down a bit, Endrick executed a series of extremely fast step overs as the opposition defender instantly became dizzy, he was wasted.

The game interface lit up at this very moment.

Endrick paid no attention to the notification, he was already in the zone.

The spectating Coaches definitely felt pity for the poor defender, he was laid on his butt on the pitch as Endrick continued his marauding run down the flanks.

The defender fell on his butt and could not recover but Anthony could.

This aggressive and energetic player charged after him.

Just before he could close the distance, Endrick paused slightly and pushed the ball with his left leg to the left, executing a perfect nutmeg.

Anthony was also obliterated.

This was when the 2 central defenders finally started closing the distance.

Endrick no longer ran straight at them, he shifted the ball to the left twice till he found the right angle, then he unleashed an unreal outside the box shot.

"Special Skill: Electricity Shot!"

BOOM!

The ball was unleashed like a rocket.

Both central defenders were not frozen this time but their reflexes dulled so much that they could barely react as the ball flew off towards goal.

The NPC goalkeeper jumped towards the top left corner.

Its outstretched arm poked the ball a bit but this could not stop the ferocious power behind the shot, the ball forced its way into the net.

GOALLLL!!!!

While Legion and Maria202 ran towards him to celebrate, Endrick ran towards the corner of the pitch as he let his emotions flow.

For real, he felt on top of the world again.

On getting to the corner of the pitch, he jumped up before executing the most iconic goal celebration in football during his previous life.

"SUIIIII!" He did the Ronaldo celebration.

"Where did you learn that?" Maria202 asked just before the game restarted. "I think I've seen something similar in my dad's football archives".

Endrick laughed. "I just felt inspired".

FWEEE!

Once the game restarted, the onslaught continued.

Team Brazilian Wall's incredible defense saved them from the onslaught or the scoreline would have been much more tilted and ridiculous.

At the 13th minute of the 2nd half, Endrick did another marauding run down the right wing but before he could cut into the opposition half, he passed towards Maria202 who was completely unmarked this time.

She did not hesitate; this female midfielder went loose!

"Special Skill: Multiple Flower Shot!"

9 balls were launched at the opposition box, 4 were real.

The situation was just too lopsided for the goalkeeper, he stood no chance. He managed to catch one of the real balls but another well-placed real ball homed into the back of the net.

"GOAL…!!!"

Maria202 celebrated her first goal of the elite team trials wildly.

For the last 2 minutes, the onslaught did not stop but at the very last minute of the game, Legion unleashed another shot at goal.

The NPC goalkeeper was in form this time as he pushed it away.

The player who reacted fastest to this attack was Anthony.

After being on the losing side of this onslaught since, this player's face was already red from anger. As soon as the ball fell to him, he did not hesitate, pushing the ball forward, he left Legion on the dust instantly.

His speed was unmatched.

Considering the fact that both forwards and the sole midfielder of Team Brazil Best were at his goal, he was uninhibited as he charged across the pitch.

Pedro and Antonio60 finally saw their first sight at ball of the game.

Both of them were not natural defenders, they played as defenders since no player in team Brazil Best was a defender.

They could do very little against this rampaging wounded beast, Anthony cut through them with speed like a hot knife through butter as he was soon one on one with the NPC goalkeeper.

Not confident in his shooting skills, he kept on charging forward.

When the goalkeeper charged out to meet him, he pushed the ball to the left and easily beat him for pace, then he poked the ball into an empty net.

"GOAL!" He roared as he finally got to vent all his frustration.

He turned to face his opponents. "Damn you!"

"Take that mother*ckers!"

His opponents did not respond to him as he ran back to his side of the pitch. When the game restarted, nothing happened again as the whistle blew again to finally bring this exciting match to an end.

The game was finally over.

As they walked to meet the coaches, Endrick's game interface lit up again.
