RAVEN BRANWEN POV
"Did the talk with the Council member went well?" Her lover asked as he walked into the Dining room with a Push Cart filled with food.
Pyrrha got up from her chair and helped him distribute the food he had made for all of them.
She looked at the Malachite twins and then at Neo who had that constant annoying smirk on her face before looking at Pyrrha, the one that Jaune loved the most.
Her thoughts on being in a harem were... complicated.
Complicated as in she had no problem accepting the current status quo.
Which shouldn't be possible as she was never one to share.
In fact, if she wanted a man for herself then she would take him. That had been her motto since childhood.
Take what you want.
That has now changed.
Oh, she knew that she was being mind-controlled in some way.
And she definitely didn't like what had happened to her but she had come to accept it.
Especially after her defeat at the hands of Jaune when she challenged him for the right of being the Head member of his… 'waifus'.
He had decided to fight her in the Northern end of this Pocket Dimension.
With how powerful she had become ever since he enhanced her with the Shroud, she thought that the match would end in her victory.
And then he had taken the form of a Dragon and…
The fight was one for the History books.
Too bad there had been no one aside from her fellow harem members to witness it.
In the end, though, she realized to her dismay that she didn't have anything that could truly harm him.
Oh, she could have tried to go for the eyes but that would have been extremely dangerous for both of them.
So in the end… she had lost. And the title of the 'Head Waifu' had gone to Pyrrha.
She was brought out of her thoughts by Pyrrha putting an empty plate in front of her with a smile while Jaune set the other dishes.
She felt her mouth-watering just by imagining all the things Jaune had cooked for them.
She was never one for buying and eating expensive food as she just considered it a waste of time but thanks to her teammates Tai and Summer, she had dined in some of the best restaurants in Vale.
None of them could hold a candle to Jaune's cooking and she feared that if he continued to feed her every day, then she might get addicted to his food, as absurd as the thought was.
Then Jaune went and sat on the head seat on the table with Pyrrha on his right.
It was a consolation that she sat to his left. She didn't believe that she would've taken it well if either Neo or one of the twins sat closer to him.
Not when she was the most powerful of his other Harem members.
Oh, Jaune might not call them that. Especially when he had neither married them nor slept with any of them aside from Neo. But she knew a Harem when she saw it and they were all the members of Jaune's Harem.
Jaune extended a hand to her and she took it and reluctantly extended her left hand to Neo on her left.
Once they were all holding hands together, Jaune started.
"Dear god. We give you thanks for this delicious meal, and for each member of our family that is sitting around this table. Please bless our conversation as we eat together, so that we would uplift and encourage each other. We are grateful for the food that we humbly receive. Amen."
"Amen." They all replied in unison.
She broke hand contact with him, feeling strangely cold at the missing warmth in her hand as Jaune started to serve himself, Pyrrha, and her before passing along the dishes.
Jaune had made Lemon Chicken today along with Rice, Salad, Curry and a host of other dishes finishing with the Chocolate Ice cream dessert.
Yup, being in his Harem at least gave the benefit of eating great food from time to time.
She stared at him.
"I didn't know that you were a believer." She said. "And from what little you've told us, the gods of this world were not something you should pray to."
Jaune nodded "I'm not a believer. Not really. And I'm praying to the light or the dark gods either." He said.
"Then who are you praying to?" Pyrrha asked, curious as well.
"To an abstract concept of god." Jaune replied "But to be frank, the main reason I do this is because… I used to do this before. With my family. And I believe that eating and praying together like this, as a family… it'll be good for us and bring us close to each other. Or at least I hope so."
"I wouldn't mind being close to you after this dinner. To repay you for the tasty dishes you've cooked for us." Melanie said as she wiggled her eyebrows at him.
She huffed.
Teenagers!
But being close to your family huh… she didn't know if she could understand such a sentiment. Not when she abandoned her husband and only child to live a life of banditry.
But now… now she has a new life. And while she'll never go back to Taiyang… maybe she could bring Yang over here.
Not as a mother but perhaps as an older sister… She was certainly young enough to play the role of an elder sister to a late teenager at this point.
She decided to think upon this at a later date and looked at Jaune and Miltia who were currently talking about how many points he had and what he needed to do to get Salem.
"We currently have 96 points," Jaune said. "Which means that capturing a single 5th tier Huntress and selling will give us enough points to finally buy the 'Stamp: Mega-pixel' option. After that, we just need to capture Salem's photo. Once. And then wait for three days for the Stamp to take effect. After that, she'll be mine."
She thought about his words and asked "Do you plan on selling her or keeping her?"
Because if they could keep Salem, then they would have a very powerful woman on their side. A woman who has lived for a very long time knows all about Magic there is to know and can control the Grimm.
At the same time, she'll lose her position as the strongest woman in his harem.
She was… a bit conflicted about that.
