ROSA FISHER POV

She woke up to a blade at her throat.

She opened her mouth to scream but a hand on her mouth muffled any such notions before she felt a weight settle on her chest and looked down to see a short person sitting on top of her.

She looked at her and then at the other person holding the blade to her throat. Both were wearing black attire from top to bottom. Attire that hid their identities quite well.

She… had a rough idea of who these people might be.

When the members of the White Fang were captured, the media had shown it as the work of the Hunters and the Police Force but she and the other Council members had taken the testimony of those captured Faunus and knew that they were defeated by a team of people wearing black attire.

She wondered what happened to her guards. Or more importantly, why were these people here.

If they've not killed her by now then they must want something from her.

"I'm now going to remove my hand from your mouth. And if you shout or try to call for help then I'll slit your throat." The woman who had put the blade at her throat said "Nod once if you understand."

She nodded.

The woman slowly removed the hand from over her mouth.

She felt the urge to scream for help. Even if her guards had been taken out of the picture, she still lived in a rich neighborhood and quite a few of her neighbors employed Hunters as their guards or had one in their family.

But… if she shouted for help and then the woman actually did as she said and slit her throat…

They might get caught but if she died then what was the point?

She sighed and decided to keep quiet and listen to their demands.

"What do you want?" she asked, deciding to hire a Hunter to guard her house if she survived through the night.

"Straight to the point. Good." The woman said as she took a chair and sat down beside her bed while the other girl got up from over her and stood on the other side of the bed. "I assume you know who we are."

She nodded "We don't have a name for your group but the White Fang members referred to you as Night Walkers."

The woman remained silent, not commenting on the name of their group. "You know about our attack on the White Fang group. The attack which led to the capture of the infamous thief Roman Torchwick in the old warehouse."

"I do. The White Fang members that talked told us about keeping almost all of their stolen Dust in that Warehouse. Strange that the police didn't find even a speck of dust in that Warehouse."

"There's nothing strange about it." The woman commented "We took the Dust."

Ahh… It was starting make sense now. Why these people would come to her like this so late at night.

"And I assume you want to sell it back to us."

"Got it in one. At least you're not stupid."

She smiled, amused by the woman's attempt to rile her up.

"And pray tell, why would we want to buy Dust from you when we could just buy it from SDC like we always do."

"Because SDC only sells a limited amount of Dust to Vale in a year. A limit that you've already reached. If you want to buy more from them then you'll have to pay at premium. Either that or carefully budget the little amount of Dust you've left in the city and stretch it out until the end of the year."

"That doesn't mean that we would trade with Terrorists." She said and wondered how this woman knew so much about their deal with the SDC.

"That would be true. But we're not terrorists." The woman said easily.

She scoffed "You say that after you steal our Dust and try to sell it back to us."

"We did not steal from you. We stole from the White Fang." The woman said "In fact, if we had not defeated those White Fang members and taken the Dust then it would definitely have been used against Vale. So if anything, you owe us. Both for taking out so many members of the White Fang and for taking the Dust away from them."

"Yes. My heart is just bursting with appreciation for your group." She said, "Of course, I would be even more grateful if you simply returned our Dust to us."

The woman shrugged "No can do. This is not a charity. If you want something then you'll have to pay for it."

"And what if we don't want to pay you for the Dust."

"Then we'll just sell it to Vacuo or Mistral. Maybe even Menagerie. They are not as rich as the other kingdoms but they're desperate for more Dust. Dust that SDC won't sell to them."

She thought about the woman's words for a moment. As much as she despised it, the woman was right.

If Vale didn't buy the Dust from them then they could simply go and sell it to either Mistral or Vacuo. Maybe even Menagerie though she doubted that the Faunus group would be able to pay for it.

"How much Dust do you have and how much do you want to sell it for?" she asked.

"We have 115 metric tonnes of Dust. And we want to sell it for 50% of the price that SDC gave it to you for."

"Preposterous." She said with a snort "10%."

"This is not a negotiation." The woman said, "Either take it or leave it."

Her eye twitched "You do realize that even if I accept this deal, it won't go through until 3 of the 5 council members agree to it. And even if I do help you sell this Dust to Vale, what do I have to gain from it."

"5% of the total amount of Lien given to us. And 2.5% to the other two Council members you manage to convince."

"10%." She said.

"5%. You either take it or leave it."

Her fists clenched. This woman was like a bandit. Didn't she know anything about negotiations and keeping your customers happy.

But still. 5% of the total amount of the Lien they'll give to the Night Walkers if this deal went through was still a large amount of money.

Money that she could use in the next elections to keep her seat.

But the risks of dealing with this group…

She tapped her fingers on the bed for a moment and the two intruders remained silent until she finally said "How could I be certain that you'll keep your end of the deal. Or that you'll not kill me after this deal is done."

The woman shrugged "You'll just have to take our word for it."

Yup. Definitely a bandit. And she would have to hire more than one Hunter after this. Maybe even a full team of hunters. It'll be expensive but possible with the amount of Lein she'll gain from this deal.

She thought about it for another moment before she nodded.

"It's a deal."
